Staff were very helpful. We were within easy reach of the Barter Theater and VA Creeper trail which is why we were in Abingdon.

The room was clean and neat. Customer service was excellent. The only problem we had was there was not enough outlets in the room. One outlet had the lamp and microwave and the other was behind the TV entertainment center. So you couldn't plug in your PC to charge or your cellphone. They definitely need more outlets.

"The vacuum needs to say hello to the carpet"
Carpet Not clean. Service okay. Maintenance and cleanliness is clearly not a priority. Toilet seat left up. Bathtub didn't drain. There was a fly in the room. Just there for one night, skipped the breakfast and ate in town.

We have stayed in Super 8 hotels before and understand that you get what you pay for most of the time. The bed was confortable but not top of the line. The bathroom was clean but the fixtures and such were old and worn. The reception desk staff were pleasant and friendly. "You get what you pay for"
The hotel advertised being newly renovated, I guess if you consider slopping some paint as newly renovated, then I guess it was. But when I got there the bed was half made, the t.v. had been left on by housekeeping, and a wet towel was hanging on the back on the door. When I complained about these things and the fact the air conditioner wasn't working […] properly, all I got was a half-hearted response. I do not recommend this hotel at all. Lesa meira
"Where to Begin?"
This was not my worst hotel stay by a long shot, but it was my most perplexing. There was no visible reason forthe staff to be so incompetent, they just were. The room was clean and what one would expect from an inexpensive motel, but the staff was not. They did not clean our room, so on day two I went and asked for towls. Two hours later... they forgot! […] Well, to add insult to that injury, when we opened the towells to use them... they were BATHMATS! I could go on,but you get my point. Don't. Lesa meira
The overall appearance of motel was ok, however; the bathroom had mold growing in bathtub and commode. When I reported it to the front desk the clerk made no comment at all. Not even, i will get cleaned or I am sorry, nothing...not a word. The staff of motel was not friendly.... In our travels over the last 10 years we have stayed at many Super 8's....never […] again.... "Super Time @ the Super 8"
Our overall experieince was wonderful. The staff was helpful and friendly and the rooms were neat and clean. Wasn't aware that we would have to take the stairs up to each floor though. No elevators in this hotel so we had to carry all our bags up steps. Luckily we were on the second floor so it wasn't too difficult. But had we been any further up it […] would have been unhandy. The location of the hotel is very convienent. It's right next to the interstate for easy access and there are several fast food restaurants nearby. Unable to get the free wifi to work correctly though. So working on the computer wasn't an option. Front desk wasn't too knowledgable about the internet service. Overall we had a nice experience. The sheets were clean & the beds were comfortable considering it was a hotel. I would probably stay again here and would reccomend it to others. Lesa meira

The hotel was very close to the interstate and near gas and fast food - so very convenient. The staff was friendly and very helpful when I had a vehicle emergency happen in the parking lot. The downside is that the bathroom ceiling leaked a little bit around 2am and the first floor hallway smelled like cigarette smoke. My room was clean and suitably […] furnished. It is not the most comfortable hotel around, but it is a good price, an adequate room and I remain very grateful for the help that the staff provided when I needed it. Lesa meira

"I wouldn't go back"
I would rate this hotel low! The towels were threadbare, the toilet paper super thin. The television must have been from the 80s and the channels were all "snowy". I would not ever go back to this particular hotel.
"15 minutes from Appalachian Trail"
I selected this hotel as it was close to the AT. There are no hotels in Damascus (just B&Bs), so this was a convenient option. Abingdon is a cute town and this hotel was convenient to the highway. However, I wouldn't choose to stay here again. The rooms and halls are very dirty. Many stains on the towels, sheets, carpets... We stayed 3 nights and our […] room was not cleaned at all during the stay. They did not even bring clean towels. We would have to ask at the desk daily and they would bring them a few hours later. We had a non-smoking room which smelled decent at first, but during the stay, you would start to smell cigarette smoke coming from other rooms. It seemed to be coming into the bathroom the most - maybe through the vents? We asked the front desk for a map of the area and were told "we're not that kind of hotel - we don't have things like that." The room did have a large refrigerator and nice microwave. "Needs new beds & linens"
Clean but old. Beds and linens were too old. Fine for a quick sleep if you can sleep on the older worn bed but would not recommend for a long stay.
