Silken Gran Hotel Domine – Bilbao 43.26755, -2.93375

I was very dissapointed with the quality of the hotel, and the rooms. This hotel smelled terrible - like body odor and stale cigarettes - and the bed linens were very thin and of very poor quality. There was also construction immediately adjacent to the hotel and right outside my window. A jackhammer ran from 8am til 8pm every day. It was impossible to relax in the hotel becuase of the enormous, offensive noise and vibration of the equipment. I was not informed of this before I arrived. I will never stay at this hotel again, and I would recommend that others don't.

This is a beautiful hotel across the street from the Guggenheim museum. Probably one of the best hotel in Bilbao. While the room and design of the hotel were great, the restaurant was just ok.

My girlfriend and I were delighted to check into the Silken Gran Hotel Domine for an overnight visit to the Guggenheim. Incidentally, we were also charmed by the rest of Bilbao and amazed by the Biscay Transporter Bridge. Back to the hotel: Don't miss the 17 euro buffet breakfast on the seventh floor overlooking the Geggenheim. The breakfast is delicious and the the view of the museum (across the street) is great. Pros: - Room comfort and cleanliness - Staff service - Breakfast - Location - 15 euro parking beneath the hotel Con: - The road separating the hotel and museum is under construction during the summer of 2009

we stayed 3 nights felt like a longer break- in a very good way perfect location - yards away from the beautiful Guggenheim Museum room amazing bathroom so well designed- thank you, P Stark! I missed coffee/tea making facilities we'll take a travel kettle next time We promissed each other to go back soon

What a fantastic hotel!! The lobby and the room was so modern, classy, comfortable and fashionable, but the amazing view from the room, a panorama of the Guggenheim Museum from a distance of 50 feet! I could hardly tear myself from the window long enough to go to the museum! I cannot imagine a better place to stay in Bilbao if the Gugenheim is on your itinerary, they could charge twice as much for the location and the quality of the hotel and i would still find it a bargain!

This chic contemporary hotel, located across the street from the Guggenheim Museum, is a perfect spot for anyone visiting Bilbao to see the museum and otherwise walk around Bilbao.

Het hotel is zeer schoon en netjes. het personeel is vriendelijk ongeacht of je met backpack of net in pak met koffer binnen komt. de kamers waren geweldig. op elke kamer lag een doosje met cd's door hen samengesteld. de airco werkte goed en alles was ruim opgezet. we hebben savonds boven op het terras gegeten en eten was voortreffelijk zonder prijzen waar je u tegen zegt. met 1 woord een aanrader zeker weten. Het is dan wat duurder maar meer dan je geld waard. tevens recht tegenover het guggenheim en winkelcentrum en oud centrum op loopafstand.

J'ai particulièrement apprécié la proximité du Guggenheim.

Great hotel with very short distance to Guggenheim. It is also central to the old city and also shopping. The hotel is very nicely decorated, and lots of lovely art.

Bijzonder mooi, comfortabel hotel, vlak tegenover het Guggenheim. Grootste pluspunt: het dakterras waar, met uitzicht op het Guggenheim, kan worden ontbeten (prima ontbijt trouwens) en geborreld.

Zeer vriendelijke service - lekker eten -toffe bar- prachtige ligging!

Hôtel de très haute volée, idéalement placée en face du Guggenheim et à trois cent mètres du musée des Beaux-Arts. La vieille ville est accessible en 1/4 d'heure par la rivière pour dîner de quelques tapas. Mais surtout, moment magique pour le petit déjeuner, sur la terrasse qui fait face au musée, au septième étage de l'hôtel !

Modern and cool design, 50 metres from the Guggenheim Museum. Great designed rooms and bathrooms. Pay the 25 euro extra, choose the "executive" room, and you get a room with a view towards the Museum (tot.price 165 Euro). Priceless to be served breakfast on the roof terrace and look down on the museum. They even gave us free tickets to visit the museum.
