When selecting a low priced motel "close" to FRA I was deceived by the stated distance from the airport. This motel is a EUR16.00 ride away from the airport. "No one has ever walked it." the check in guy said. It is 4.5km by highway with no footpath, not 1.5km as advertised.

We stayed at the airport Domizil for the third year in a row on our annual return to the US after our yearly trip to Italy. It is a convenient stop over at a good price. This year we booked a business room in order to have room in the morning to do our exercises (which is impossible in a standard room). Therefore we couldn't get the Sleep and Fly deal […] but took their shuttle and paid 35E for two people round trip. We always eat at the German restaurant that's about a five minute walk from the hotel, although the staff never seems to mention it...they always suggest Ciao-Italian food which we've just indulged in for 6 weeks so we opt for German. Nothing out of the ordinary but convenient and fits the bill for us. Lesa meira

About a 30 euro taxi ride each way from the airport, definitely consider taking advantage of the hotel's airport shuttle to save some money! Staff was incredibly helpful; I left my wallet in the taxi after arriving and when the taxi driver came back later in the evening, the staff personally drove the driver to the nearby restaurant where we were eating […] so he could return my wallet! We were looking for a hotel near the airport. It cost 20 Euros to get a taxi from the airport and it took almost 20 minutes. The only thing that made it seem like an airport hotel is that you could see airplanes in the sky off in the distance. We did appreciate the staff and their recommendation for the Italian restaurant "Ciao" around the corner made […] out stay great! For a suite room, there was a small closet kitchenette supplied with one spoon and one fork. That was it! We didn't need the kitchen but just a warning to those that do. Even though this hotel is close as the crow flies to the Frankfurt Airport, it took us a 20 minute (which cost 22 euros) taxi ride to reach the hotel. If we had called for the shuttle to come from the hotel to pick us up, it would have been one hour before we could settle into our hotel room. had to climb out the window at 4am to make my flight, as front door was locked. the light bulb by the door to my room was burned out and they had no qulified staff on duty to change it till next day. as result had to fill out the door to find key hole

The hotel is located quite some distance from the airport, as are most of the 'budget' hotels. The problems are with the shuttle service which does not go to the arrivals gates as most of the standard hotel shuttles do. The main thing to note here is that you will have to pay 35 Euros for 2 ppl for a return shuttle service from and to the airport. Also, it is advisable to book this shuttle service BEFORE you arrive. We had not done this and were left with the options of either taking a taxi for 25 Euro one-way or the local bus and walk. I asked for guatented late arrival, yet when I arriveed there was no one at the reception desk, nor was there anyone on the premises to help me. Luckily there were two Germans drinking on the front porch, who were able to tell me where the keys were hidden or I would have had to sleep outside. The hotel left no instructions other than in German.

The only reason we stay was they said "connected to airport" . They did have a shuttle van about a 15 minute ride. The staff was friendly enough, but the room was very moldy smelling.

The hotel is convenient to the airport. The shuttle is a very good deal for €16 compared to €22 for a taxi. It's located in a quiet little town adjacent to the airport. We booked a room for 4 people (2 adults and 2 children), but the room had just one queen-size bed. This doesn't correspond to my idea for bedding for 4 people. But this was not the worst. German hotels seem to close their receptions and the receptionists go home in the evening, so it is up to the guests that arrive later how to enter their room. We arrived at the hotel late (around midnight) and there was a note on the hotel entrance door that the reception is now closed and there was a number for emergencies. Good, but how do we enter our room? We looked around and there was a automated check-in machine (Germany is very automated with machines, and is a human race disaster when it comes to human communications), which simply didn't find our reservation by name. We panicked slightly as there was nobody to help us and give us a key for our room. The hotel is dead silent. Then we decided to call the number for emergencies, and at that time we noticed an envelope with our key for the room stuffed under the check-in machine - not on a very visible location, especially after midnight. We were very angry - this is a typical German service - very automated, but zero human communications. They could have written one sentence on the door saying where they put the keys for the late arrivals... but this doesn't seem to be a practice in Germany - you have to find it on your own. I only stayed one short night, but the room was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The shuttle to and from the airport was efficient, but they charge 16 Euros each way- cheaper than a cab, but I had been hoping it would be free. However, Expedia warned me there might be extra fees, and I wasn't charged any, so that helped.

Booked the airport hotel the night before the flight back to the U.S. The rate was very reasonable and the room was very clean and spacious. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. It was a little hard to find but definitely worth the trouble.

The hotel does not have a telephone number posted on the airport hotel circle , so you can not call them to ask to be picked up. I had to take a taxi that cost me 40 euros. The Taxi driver did not have a clue where the hotel was (even though he claimed he did) and it took him 30 minutes to get me there. Shuttle had to be called for on a public phone, no information at the airport about the hotel, how or where to get the shuttle or even what their telephone number was, 20 minute wait for the shuttle, 20 minute drive to the hotel. Neighborhood streets deserted and most restaurants closed in the evening. Hotel overpriced.

The hotel was charming, the breakfast wonderful and the service excellent. One thing worth mentioning at time of reservation : that they provide a shuttle service and/or the bus route to the hotel. (for us poor people who cannot afford a 32 euro taxi fare)

While traveling from Singapore with a stop in Frankfurt i needed an affordable hotel. I chose the Airport Domizil Hotel Frankfurt. To my surprise this was NOT located at the airport but a 15 minute drive from a shuttle that had to be called to pick you up, for an additional 15 Euro each way. The hallway was thick with cigarette smoke which filtered through the door. The bedding stank of cigarettes. If you like second hand smoke, this is the place for you. As for me, I will not return. Positive was fast, courteous shuttle service provided by hotel. Breakfast was mediocre.

We booked a family room (2x adults, 2x children - aged 12 and 6) for an overnight stay before an early flight from Frankfurt Am Main airport. The room provided was perfect - very large in size, naturally split (without doors) into two distinct areas/bedrooms - one clearly intended for us parents and one for the children. The room was spotlessly clean […] and well supplied with linens, towels, complementary toiletries, etc. Internet access is by LAN in the room, with Wifi available in the lobby (like many, many hotels). The staff in reception on arrival were very friendly, efficient and helpful, as too was the lady when we left in the morning. You can tell a real effort has been made with the decor in the room (and around the hotel) - and it's the small touches that help give you the wow factor. The hotel is close to the airport (you can see the planes coming in) however it does take about 10 minutes to drive to either of the terminals. Parking is limited but there is plenty of streetside parking (which is nothing to worry about). The one - tiny - issue I had is that the soundproofing from outside wasn't the best and the planes could be easily heard when landing and taking off on the nearer of the 2 runways IF THERE WAS NO OTHER NOISE IN THE ROOM - that said, however, Frankfurt's new nightflight ban means that this is only an issue early evening so shouldn't cause anyone any real issues. Sound between adjacent rooms/floors was non-existent. I must admit, I am surprised to read some of the negative reviews here considering my experience of the hotel. I cannot comment on the quality of the breakfast or the shuttlebus, however the size and quality of the room and furnishings was at least comparable (and better in some cases) to hotels we have stayed in costing 3 and 4 times the rate being charged by Domizil. Very friendly staff, convenient location and good breakfast. Only dissapoinment was no/disfunctional WiFi and afternoon and lunch on site restaurant. However, internet cafe and restaurants are well within walking distance.

The shuttle package is a good value over-night stop for Frankfurt Airport. Prompt pick up after phoning the hotel, journey to hotel approx 15 mins. Only drawback, our room was missing a blind, although we could see the fixings for this, the only window covering was a thin net curtain. It was fairly dark in the morning, so luckily not woken up too early. […] Room/bathroom clean. Twin room was one single bed and a fold out bed, which was missing some slats, so my daughter fell through the bed when she sat on the side of it. Bed was too hard, pillow too thin for me, but I accept that everyone has different preferences. Breakfast was good. Staff polite and helpful, except receptionist who insisted that I had not looked hard enough when I complained about the lack of a blind.
