All very clean, the breakfast varied and good and the staff very helpful day and night. The location was the compromise I aimed for, between the location of my meetings and the city centre, with more or less half-an-hour's walk either way.

You could easily walk to the Spanish steps (25 minutes), colleseum (10 minutes) and other sights. The lady in the breakfast room is outstanding. The double rooms are very small but that is to be expected in the center of Rome. If you are lucky and get a 3 bed room for 2 people, then it is very spacious. Francesco will bend over backwards to make your stay a good one and so will the rest of the staff. Breakfast iis very good and plenty of it and the lady that serves is a angel on earth. Restaurants and cafes are very expensive in the neighborhood but either a 8 euro taxi ride or the metro to a neighborhood called Trastivera will get you to where the Romans eat, drink and play. The food is excellent and you can easilly get a meal for two with a bottle of wine for about 21 euros Ristorante Ivo is great, get there early as there is a line to get in but well worhj it. There is a large cheap supermasrket in the square in the basement on the way to Termini. The smaller markets are 3-4 times more expensive for water and other stuff is also much cheaper then at the various mini markets.. All in all we were very pleased with the Hotel Amalfi and will stay there again.

Regardless, the hotel receptionist went out of his way to accommodate us and had a room prepared for us as a priority and even had us upgraded to a superior accommodation to the one we had paid for. Excellent service.

Take the express train from the airport to Roma Termini and the hotel is a mere 3-4 min walk to the top of via Cavour. Most main sites 20 min walk from there.

"Lacking perfection"
This was my second Boscolo hotel stay in Italy and even after telling them I was dissapointed in my last stay, this room they put me in was still not perfect: missing drawer pull, stain on carpet, no robes in the room, no towels at the spa, the sauna seat in the spa was cracked, they charged me for mini-bar and I did not take anything from the minibar. […] Small details but I expect a five star rating to be perfect. Also, breakfast is not included and other 5 star hotels include lovely breakfasts for their clients. "One of the best we have ever stayed in."
We reported on different occasions that the main ceiling light could not be turned off and the only way to douse the light was to remove the card from the system on the wall but yet it was not fixed. To and from the room, walking up and down the alley we past a bum sleeping on the sidewalk everyday of our stay. The room had a bathroom room that you had to walk up the steps to. quite pleasing to the eye until you have to go to and from the restroom during the middle of the night. Our family of two adults and one teen stayed at aleph for five nights. everything about the hotel was outstanding.our room was spacious.compared to other European hotel rooms. The location is superb and close to most major attractions. We took cabs to many venues and found the staff willing to call cabs and all arrived within two minutes. We bought […] the breakfast voucher which proved to be a winner as we were able to get a delicious meal before heading out for sightseeing. The decor is beautiful in a modern hip way. "Rome, a lovely experience."
We used the hotel facility mainly for overnight accomodation as we dined out at different places. The facilities at the hotel were excellent, we used the pool and the sauna and although we did not use the restaraunt it looked to be very nice. Don't be fooled into thinking this is the hotel seen in some of the pictures, which show pics of the sister hotel, which is far grander. A bit misleading on the websites. Nice small hotel, great location, but wifi didn't work in rooms and our telly didn't work either so we had to push to move rooms, not the greatest service helping with this issue as […] had to keep asking. Outstanding hotel. Located in the center of Rome in a extremely convenient position. 2 minutes walk to the Hard Rock Cafe, under 10minutes to the Spanish Steps. Rooms are clean and excellently maintained. The hotel bar offers drinks that while yes, they are a little expensive, you do always get a couple of plates of 'nibbles' to go along side complimentary. […] This is a 5* star hotel, so you don't expect to get a bargain pint! There is a Spar in the hotel which while treatments are at additional cost, using the mood lighting Swimming pool, Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna are completely free and worth a visit. "Excellent hotel, will definitely go back"
We’ve been to Rome many times so we’ve stayed in several different hotels all over Rome, including the sister hotel to this one (Exedra). The Aleph is in a better location, a short stroll from most of the sights and an excellent selection of restaurants and bars – although suggest you walk away from the main roads to find cheaper restaurants. The hotel […] staff couldn’t do enough to help us, we took our six month old baby and had no issues with the hotel providing a cot, kettle for making up bottles, car seat for the journey to and from the hotel and anything else we needed (the driver from the hotel car service even offered to stop at a supermarket for us to get baby supplies). We were a large party, we had 5 rooms in the hotel and all were large, well decorated and clean – not sure why some people in these reviews thought the rooms were small, the rooms were large by European standards). This certainly was not a 5 star hotel. Maybe the sister hotel around the corner. Room was small, carpets old and torn and furniture quite worn out. Centrally localted but so are the other hotels nearby.Ósvikin umsögn gests á Hotels.com

"Expensive!"
Nice hotel, the deluxe room that we booked was probably the worst room in the hotel, tired and worn out looking, frayed carpets patchy water marks on ceiling etc. When we first arrived at the hotel the reception tried to push an upgrade at the cost of another 50 euros per night, I'm pretty certain that they gave us the crap room knowing full well that […] we would upgrade to get out of it, however theupgraded room was fantastic with our on terrace the size of a small garden with table chairs longers etc I would advise not eating here as the food was poor and very expensive, 10 euros for a bottle of beer and 7 euros for a packet of crisps, 25 euros for oily eggs and 2 mini sausagesbar staff were very rude and ignorant, Reception were more than helpful , Lesa meiraÓsvikin umsögn gesta á Expedia

We stayed here for a few days. Nice location near Spanish steps, Trevi fountain and the subways. Nice staff only issue is there wasn't WiFi available in the room only down stairs. otherwise i doyen my stayÓsvikin umsögn gests á Hotels.com

"Will definetely stay there next visit to Rome"
I had reservations due to mixed reviews about this hotel but can't fault it in any way. Lovely Hotel, Perfect Location and Staff couldn't be more helpful. I can't imagine why some people gave poor reviews or were not impressed, can only imagine there is no pleasing some people... Perfect location. Only one block to the busiest square in Rome, one block the other way to the Spanish Steps, and another block to out of this world shopping. The hotel staff was very kind and professional and extremely helpful with all of our requests. The room was large by European standards, modern and quiet. "2 flies of wine"
The staff was very polite and the area was great but the beds where so uncomfortable ( 2 single beds put together and one was broken bending to the right side a hole in the middle of the bed the size of the grand canyon , very unromantic for a couple) the lights where broken and the A/C as well, making it very cold in the room. We asked for it to be […] fixed but nothing could be done. then after ordering the room service i found 2 flies in my glass of wine to adult flies sinked at the bottom which means to me that they have been there for a long time and made me wonder if the recycle there win from old glasses, cause usually when a fly lands in ur glass it floats. After the check out we had to ask for the glass of wine not to be charged after we saw that they charged us. I dont recommend this hotel unless your a back packer. Not a 5 star hotel!!!!
