Maui Beach Hotel – Kahului

We stayed here after our flight to Maui because the timeshare unit in laihana wasnt until the next day. So we booked Maui beach hotel. Beautiful scenery, the rooms were clean, used the pool, and the fitness center and walked down the beach. This hotel is across the street from a mall and lots of things are near by. Great place for a quick stay.

You can't beat the location of the Maui Beach Hotel if doing business on Maui. Nothing like the luxury hotels and higher rates in the resort areas on the island.

We flew into Maui from the mainland and out to Kauai the next day. The Maui Beach Hotel was perfect for this. It's inexpensive, and has an airport shuttle. The tiny rooms and limited beach would not have made it a good choice for a week of relaxation but it was fine for an overnight.

Hotel is pleasant, close to shopping mall and beach. Room was small, air conditioner was not working well and the TV needs to be updated (too small and not flat screen!) The picture shown is misleading as we were given an old, not modern room.

We stayed here due to the late arrival of our flight and the need for a one night stay before our condo was ready . It was acceptable for such a purpose . This seems to be the hotel where the locals stay when they go on vacation. Kahului is the commercial center of the island- not the tourist destination. It was convenient that everything is a short drive: Lahaina is ~45 min, Paia ~10, Maalaea ~10 min, but is not the nice, resort you may have in mind. The hotel is not in the best condition and the shower […] was small (and had mold). It is fine if you aren't planning on spending a lot of time in the hotel. Room was clean and simple. Hotel very dated and shabby. No lounge and no decent restaurant. (The breakfast and dinner buffets were not the slightest bit appetizing) Place on Friday night featured a loud 80's band for locals. Security very heavy in parking lot which gave pause for one's safety. Would not return.

This is an older hotel that has made some upgrades. The ocean view was nice and the reception / lobby area was welcoming. The rooms were clean.

Don't let the pics fool you. This is one of Maiu's old hotels. The rooms are more like motel rooms. The A/C unit is an old school wall unit. The carpet looks 10 years old and smells like it too. The only thing good about this Hotel is the location and price, you get what you pay for. Stayed here for a week and was quite pleased. Price was low, room was clean, staff was polite, breakfast was fair. I stayed in a room that had 2 double beds. It was small, but I didn't mind as it was clean and comfortable. The breakfast is $13, but it's buffet so it's a good deal if you eat big. Not a great value if you eat small. You may be better […] off going to Whole Foods down the street for less $. The hotel is in a great location. It's close to the airport, but not so close that planes are flying over head all the time. Close to Whole Foods, Foodland, Queen Ka'ahumanu Mall, and Long Drug. It's easy to access all areas of the island from here. Parking at this hotel is free, but the lot can get full at night. There will be an open spot, but you might end up at the far end. The hotel is right on the beach. Not the prettiest beach, as you can see the freight harbor that's right down the road, but a beach none the less is still be enjoyable. My room was on the second floor, right next to a busy road which was loud until about 11pm. It was annoying at times, but not awful. I still slept fine. My biggest complaint is that they do not have wifi in the rooms. Only in the dining room, the lobby, and the courtyard. There is wired internet in every room though if that's okay with you. The fitness room in the hotel is sparse. Two treadmills, elliptical machine, a bench, and a rack of dumbbells going up to 50lbs. No cockroaches in room, a common sight on Hawai'i. Pleasant surprise! This hotel wasn't as bad as some of the reviews. It is an older hotel, but generally fairly nice. Nothing fancy, but the price was great. The bed was very comfortable. It had basic necessities.

The hotel was in a decent location and the price was right and it was a good place to lie down at night. We did the road to Hana one morning and sunrise on Haleakala the next and the hotel was a good starting point for both. The hotel is very conveniently located in Kahului downtown, 2 miles to airport, walking distance to shops, major roads to all attractions/highways. The Expedia local expert (Letty) is very friendly and helpful. The room is clean, with WiFi (but not always stable), A/C, facility is minimal (no coffee maker...). A lots parking spaces...

Asked front desk to call a taxi to airport. Said that taxi would take same amount of time as their shuttle - 15 mins. So we waited for the shuttle and kept checking back at the front desk who assured us they were minutes away. Forty minutes later, the shuttle finally arrived and we missed our flight. Very unhelpful front desk.

I also stayed at Maui Seaside Hotel, next to Maui Beach hotel. The staff is much friendlier and unlike Maui Beach hotel, computer usage is free. Seaside even suggested we can come back for shower in their Hospitality Room on the same day if we were to go to the beach after check-out. The location of this hotel is closed to Airport. So, for helicopter ride it is awesome. There are couple of food-trucks nearby. The ocean comes just behind the hotel makes it awesome. Restroom was small but clean. Only reason for not giving it 4 or 5 is they do not give separate soap or shampoo, but more like shared ones available in GYM.

First time to maui. Our plane arrived at 8pm after 7 hrs of flying and a 3 hour time chnage we stayed only one night in this hotel and we travelling with an 8month old Netherlands rooms were clean, nothing fancy. The hotel was a bit run down, but nothing terrible. Fr the 12hours we stayed here it was great, super close to the airport, and fairly clean. […] I would not recommend wasting any money eating at this hotel. Great location if you want to rent car and tour around. The location is not close to the better beaches. The hotel is fine with no concerns about cleanliness,service or condition. There are limited restaurant services so most of the time we ate out. The location is adjacent to a mall if you want to do some shopping.

This is a decent hotel by the airport for one nite. The rooms are clean but the wi-fi isn't always reliable and the hotel can be very noisy at times if you are a lite sleeper. We liked everything about our stay at the Maui Beach Hotel. The room rate changed based on occupancy and we wished we could've had the lower rate for the duration of our stay but we liked it so we extended our stay anyway. We stayed in a standard, basic room with a nice refrigerator. The shower was a stall with a door that did not leak. Convenient shuttle service to/from the airport and even to some local areas. Room was small, but had a refrigerator and balcony. Was comfortable and overlooked the grounds and courtyard. Nearby Shopping Mall for food and access to public transportation, which we used and enjoyed for Island sightseeing (a real bargain!). when arrived very unpleasant reception from receptionist, not helpful told us they couldnt provide our booked room and only had twin beds for the wife and i but that we could upgrade at our expense if we wanted one bed. oh the cheek!!!! Would definitely stay there again . Location is ideal . Central to whatever direction you choose to be in Maui. Reasonable rate and close to all amenities. Room clean and comfortable . The only drawback to our room which was the upgraded room with a ocean view was that it was noisy about 6-8 am because of the delivery trucks or the maintainance building […] which was very close. We stayed at the Maui Beach because it was close to the airport and it was very late at night and wanted a place to crash. They are in the middle of refurbishing all the rooms with new bathrooms. Basic place to stay when arriving late in Maui after along flight from Toronto. No food available after 9:00pm however. There were some vending machines but no one told us & this was not mentioned in the services listed.
