Going to Bangkok as two semi-budget travelers, we didn't consider this as cheap, but as many hostels were of the same price range, we decided to take the hotel, mostly for the chance of a good bed, more security and proximity to Khao San Road. Apart from the WiFi being a bit shaky (but to same level as many other hotels in South East Asia) and dirty slippers in the bathroom, everything was pretty much sufficient to our standards. The bed was comfortable enough, the hotel staff was friendly and more than ready to help with anything, a convenience store was in the same street and also an Internet Cafe. No problem finding it coming from Khao San Road, going up the street from KSR (western end), the hotel being placed on the opposite bank of the next canal - merely a five minute walk. Only downside was, being a backpacker, we missed staying with all the other backpackers on Khao San Road, but returned anyway for a second stay a week later, equally as enjoyable.

Nice staff - skytrain is just 3 mins away, so the location is solid. Breakfast was just fine. Good price. So, I'm pretty happy after that one night stay.

The location of the hotel was perfect to day trip throughout Bangkok. Considering the amount of Westerns in the hotel, there is an immediate need to have foreign speaking and understanding hotel staff, especially English, to assist and support the guests needs and requests instead of playing charades most of the time.

I stayed in a two bedroom suite at Prince Palace Hotel in Bangkok. The room was spaceous and tidy. Location was fine but with no BTS or MRT stations close by. The funny experience you could get though is to try the water taxi which departs frequently within few minute walk from the hotel. It is the way to advoid traffic if you are going to Central World […] for shopping. My overall experience with this hotel was satisfactory. The only thing which has got me upset was about the check in process. I arrived at the hotel just after 2pm and got advised to wait at least an hour for the room to get ready. I asked the front staff (a lady) what time the normal check in hour should be and got advised to be 4pm. It was a different information I got from the website when I did my booking. Therefore I asked again and the same answer was given from the lady staff. Well, while she was walking away to process my credit card for security payment, I double checked with another girl at the front desk. And there I got another answer which is 2pm. I got really upset by that and confronted the staff who purposely lied to me to make me wait. And there after the manager came over and offered me a room straight away. To apologise he gave me an option of late check out (which I didn't take it at the end). Anyway, the point here is why the girl had to lie to me at the first instance. She didn't admit her mistake nor explain/ apologise. It was not a big deal, but it was a bad first impression given at the minute I arrived at the hotel. This was a terrible hotel. The staff were rude and unhelpful. The lights in our room were broken. The hot breakfast was cold and over crowded. The other restaurants in the hotel are over priced and don't offer any thai food?!! Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere closer to MBK and the rest of the city, as this hotel is hard to get to and not worth […] your time. Lesa meira

This Hotel offers a great daily rate, however due to a poor location ( little in the way of restaurants, shops close to Hotel) we felt kinda trapped. Although there are numerous restaurants and bars in this large hotel food and drink at the hotel is generally way overpriced. We felt lucky to be staying only a couple of days. Stayed here after 2 weeks travelling around Thailand. A welcome relief from all the cold showers and non airconditioned rooms around the rest of the country. Worth every Baht I paid for the room!!

This Hotel had wonderful Customer Service, restaurants located inside which was convinient. The Prince Palace had driver service if needed, which is a great feature, if you don't want to pay for driver service you can take a Jeepney which are usually lined up outside. Cheap room, under average standard. Verry expencive for food and drinks at the hotells resturants and pool bar. The room was cold and not very nice. They also charge you ekstras for waterbottel they trick you and call it minibar. So we had to pay ekstra of our depositum. The staff was very unnplesant. I allways use this hotel while in Bangkok. Very spacious rooms and a great view of Krung Thep. Busy and charming surroundings. Channel boat 1 minute away. Siam Square 3 -4 minutes!! No problem to walk to Wat Suthat and other pearls. Very varied breakfast. Vetle
"Hotel in Downtown Bangkok"
This is a large hotel situated on Damrongrak Road in Klong Mahanak which is a commercial district of Bangkok. The hotel is probably the only major sight in the area so you are localised here but a short taxi drive will get you around quickly to the nearby locations and areas of Bangkok. The hotel is located on the 11th floor as it shares the building […] with a shopping centre. The area itself is a hub of markets which are located on the river but doesnt really bodge itself to going out in the area. The hotel itself is impressive but some of the rooms need updating but otherwise the place was friendly, helpful and extremely spacious. There was an outside pool with a bar nad a couple of jaquzzis in the background. There is also a gym available for those brave enough to exercise in the heat of Bangkok, howver the whole inside of the hotel is well ventilated and you are more likely to catch a cold than melt away. The staff were very friendly and eager to help. Maps given by the hotel aren't the best and you are better getting your own. Our room was spacious and worth every penny. Breakfast was a buffet and was pleasant enough which was served from 6-10am. The outdoor pool and bar is a good way to relax and remove yourself from the hub hub of Bangkok. Depending on what you want from your hotel your most likely to get out of the area than stay around but they do offer night time entertainment. All in all a good relaxing place to stay Lesa meira

The hotel was very good value, the breakfast was brilliant and the markets right outside. The hotel staff were helpful even though some did not speak much English. The room was very good. Our only gripe was that we accidentally opened one of the complimentary water bottles, we replaced it with a similar one but were still charged 70baht for another. Hotel was good value, clean and the service was good. Reception staff could be a liitlle friendlier, but overall the other staff were great. We stayed in a 3 bed apartment, with a kitchen, but there was no cutlery, crockery or kitchen utensils. We didn't want to cook full meals, but would have liked a glass or two and a bottle opener! Couldn't even […] have cheese as no knife. Also the hotel provides 2 different kinds of water, one is complimentary....the problem is which one? we drank the ones we thought were complimentary and ended up being charged on checkout, apparently the one on the bench, not in the fridge is the complimentary one! "Dirty, uncleaned rooms, do not stay here!!"
We stayed two different nights in two different rooms and the second room was absolutely filthy. There were holes and stains on the walls. Dirty, bloody curtains, moldy shower tub amd there were no sheets on the bed. Housekeeping gave us on sheet to sleep with which we didnt sleep well with considering we knew the sheets were not washed and were dirty. […] There were ants in the room as well. Im sure there had to be other bugs too. The breakfast is alright but there are some really weird and not so tasteful items. You have to manually checkout in order to leave the hotel which takes about 30 min even if you are trying to get a cab to the airport. Bellmen also do not help with your bags. I can without any hesitation recommend Prince Palace for a very enjoyable stay. If you do business in the Bo Bae area, this is definately the best place to stay. It was my second stay and will not be the last. The lovely pool area and the scrumptious breakfast is just the best.

The hotel price is fair through internet booking. You have to bring your own universal electric socket adapter otherwise you might need to buy your own. Food at hotel is just so so, not very convenience for hawker food.

Not happy with the stay, we are party of 5 and only given room keys for two, charged me for the table top plastics that we did not break for 300 Thai Bath, and room services is terrible, not Internet, and cost more Thai Baths to use the Gym or exercise room. That crazy, picking on us in nickels and dimes. will not going back

"Nice view but not nice room and location"
The room had full cover mat and textiles on the walls, and they clearly had been there for a loooong time. Felt a little disgusting putting my bare feet on that mat. Got a really large room high up for a low price though, but the surrounding area was not very nice, very "local" so to speak, far away from any shopping or attractions and very busy.

It is my third stay at Prince Palace, though 3.5 star but the hotel is quite big and do not look 3.5. Located just next to Bobae Tower, the place is a shopping heaven. About 5 mins away from MBK, Chinatown & Platinum. Only thing is during my 3 stays there in Aug 10, Feb 11 & Jul 11, the breakfast menu did not change at all.

Superb hotel for the money.lovely spacious room and the suite was so large and everything I needed. Staff very helpful and friendly.Restaurants with very clean and reasonable with vast menus. Spacious and very modern up to date gym with friendly and knowledgeable instructors. Have stayed here for about the last 5 years while I visit Bangkok.
