My family and i had a great time at the hotel! We loved the pool and especially the views and surroundings. The staff always said hello and always had a smile. Breakfast and lunch at the hotel was great. Also great places to eat along the boardwalk etc...

The location of the hotel is great and works well for being situated amidst the Wharf area. The cleanliness of the hotel was not great - the toilet had not been cleaned prior to our arrival, was full of urine and the bathroom stank. It was cleaned when we asked at reception, but this did put us off for the rest of the visit.

We booked for 3 people, we were only given 2 towels each day. The sofa double bed was really uncomfortable. Every staff member we dealt with was extremely helpful. The restaurant was exceptional. The food and service were amazing. The pool was fine. Many places to see close by. We had a harbour view room and watching the ships and tugs day and night […] was really interesting. The gym was very well appointed and has motivated us to join a gym near home. Would love to go back to Crowne Plaza Newcastle, however we would avoid the sofa bed. The staff were friendly and efficient and nothing was a problem. The room was large and very clean. It also has a lovely view of the harbour. The hotel pool was a nice addition. The location was perfect, close to many attractions, bars and restaurants. We would stay here again.

Great hotel, great Location, great room. Everything was wonderful including the proximity to attractions, the front desk staff and the on site hotel. The only draw back was the lax attitude of some of the staff but interacting with them was not essential. Everything else about the hotel was excellent. DM

I asked for harbour side room. I received the ground floor where i could not see the harbour. Just the fence and hedge. I also had to keep my blinds closed as there was a wedding in front of my window.

The harbor view rooms at the Crowne Plaza Newcastle have an an interesting harbor view. The city view rooms do not have a view worth looking at - these rooms are not enjoyable. We had one of these rooms for 3 nights. The reception staff, while pleasant, we're not particularly helpful in getting An upgrade to a harbirview room. We waited three nights […] for an upgrade. When we did get a habour view room we could only use enjoy it for one Morning. Overall this is a conveniently located hotel with some rooms having an interesting view but overall this is not a hotel I can strongly recommend. Lesa meira

Great hotel, with excellent service. Only downside was we got a double bed despite the queen bed booking. This made for a fairly uncomfortable night's sleep, especially with a pregnant wife.

The restuarant was particularly impressive especially the friendly service and Nelson Bay oysters. A pity that you "do not have do it yourself" parking.

excellent all round, though wanting to charge $25 for parking was an attempt at rip-off - not taken - free parking in a nearby council car park all weekend ($8/weekdays), but I had to find that out myself, this information was not volunteered at all by Crown Plaza Staff.

We had a lovely suite which had views over the water and towards the city. It's in a great, central location just a short walk to several good restaurants and bars, but still very quiet. The location was also great being so close to the water and boardwalk, excellent for a walk/run. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and nicely appointed, I think […] the only thing which could be improved on is the bathroom, ours looked a bit dated and still had a shower curtain but otherwise all was very clean and the bed was very comfy, with lovely linen.Great for couples or business travellers, would definately stay there again. We stayed for 4 nights in the Crowne Plaza Newcastle and were extremely happy with the size of the room and the amenities. Our room had a kitchenette, large bathroom with spa bath big enough for two, a small lounge area with balcony and tv and a separate bedroom area with ability to close off from rest of apartment and another tv and balcony. The bed […] was large and comfy, the curtains also block a lot of sunlight for those who like to sleep in! House keeping came every day, and for the days that we had our privacy sigh on the door, a package was left with clean towels and soaps etc. The pool and pool area were nice and clean. The hotel is within walking distance to cafes, restaurants and the beach. The staff were really nice and even offered us an umbrella to take with us when it was raining, Lesa meira

The rooms are really nice in this hotel, I had a kitchenette with a fridge and also living room area and bedroom plus a bathroom. This hotel is somewhat dated but the rooms are comfortable, clean and there are good restaurants and bars close by. Our son is going to the local university and we were glad to stay at this hotel. Great staff, very friendly,room was perfect for us, and the dining options were good. A few blocks from the train station, and the local downtown which had a very nice charm to it. Thank-you!

We chose this hotel for our stay in Newcastle for our Hope Estate Neil Diamond concert. The hotel was lovely, just what you would expect for a Crowne Plaza. Everything was great, especially the breakfast. The surrounding area was lovely for a walk, very scenic.

Room was nice however issues with TV were not resolved, nothing was offered in place of it, or change of room. Parking was an issue, so had to pay for valet parking. And even though I paid 2 months prior to travelling, they charged someone elses room to my card, I guess an honest mistake, but if I hadnt checked, who wouldve known?

I made reservation through Hotels.com and paid the invoice in internet. When I leave the hotel they recharge me at hotel again. So by accident I paid an invoice twicel!! Then I must make reclamation and it was quite difficult and also expensive (international phone calls)
