Rooms where clean and staff friendly. The hotel restaurant was very good. It was close to many of the must sees in Hollywood.

the king bed was lumpy and uncomfortable to sleep in. the additional fees are ridiculous (daily re-entry fee of $5 to $10 per night)! the hotel is clean and the proximity to the 101 restaurant is convenient.

This Best Western was double the price of the one off rt 55 in Newport Beach, but was half the quality. Rooms crummy, breakfast not included, and of poor quality considering the high cost of it. Also parking not included. I don't recommend it. Stay somewhere else a little further away, and take a taxi to Hollywood Blvd, if you must see it.

staff were very friendly and helpful. it's great value for money, with clean decent sized rooms, and only a block off hollywood blvd and the metro station so pretty easy to get to other places

Hotel is redone well enough. The rooms were nicely quiet, which was surprising. The only noise I heard was when people would roll their luggage across the balcony ways. The staff were nice enough. The entry from the parking is odd and inconvenient and there were smokers each time I went through, which was quite annoying. The theme-ing of the rooms was […] ok, not especially effective. Some of the furnishings incredibly dated, but the shower was big and nice. Having to pay valet for nothing was not great. I self parked and self-retrieved. The hotel was tidy and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a wee bit small, but hey, we had a lot of luggage so that's okay. Nice clean hotel room. The hotel recently went renovation. We stayed in the pool area, and the size of the room was perfect. The bathroom had double shower and was spacious. The only thing lacking was not enough light coming into the room. The window was facing the indoor pool area, so we didn't get too much light from the outside (which made the room […] a bit dark at times)....but we weren't in our room much, so it wasn't a problem. The hotel has a restaurant attached to it. 101 Coffee Shop. The restaurant was very busy every morning but the food was delish. To get to hollywood walk of fame, you have to cross under the freeway (which didn't look all that safe at night), but there were plenty of light, so it wasn't too bad. Lesa meira

We only stayed for one night and it was rather pricey but considering it was for a busy Hollywood holiday weekend; we stayed for Halloween weekend; it was great. it was close enough to the action that we walked down to Hollywood Blvd. I had booked a king size bed but there was an issue with booking so when we checked in, all king size rooms were sold […] out. The staff was very friendly and accomodating and they apologized for the inconvenience but set aside a nice 2 queen size room for us on their highest floor (4th) with a great view of the Hollywood sign. The room was clean, pleasant and surprisingly spacious. The bathroom was spacious as well - it had 2 sinks so my boyfriend and I didn't have to wait on each other. They have a nice little restaurant next door conveniently open til 3am. We didn't get to try it but it was nice to know it was there. The decor was really nice and as a movie buff, I loved waking down the halls looking at the memorabilia. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and I would definitely stay here again. Lesa meira

It turned out to be an exciting stay. I would have to classify the hotel as a 4 star hotel with total 5 star service....even the Restaurant....Would go back there in a heart beat......Management is on the ball with every detail.

Room o.k. Was on a slope which was weird and was above the cafe so you could hear the noise up until 3am when it closed. Cafe was reasonably priced and served nice food. Bit of a walk to start of walk of fame.

The hotel was a good value for the popular Hollywood location. I'm glad we didn't spend more to stay someplace fancy, because for a single over night stay (and not a lot of time spent in the room) this was perfect. No big luxuries, but the room was clean and there wasn't a ton of noise from the street or other guests. Good clean accommodation, reasonably priced & in a great location. The hotel is well maintained with comfortable beds, nice bathrooms with big showers, very clean pool, plenty of car parking and free wifi. Very handy to the Hollywood & Vine metro station and Plantages Theatre, walk to Hollywood Boulevard walk of fame. Walking distance to Kodak Theatre, […] and Grauman's Chinese Theatre. Universal Studios is only 2 stops on the metro or a very quick drive. Most tour operators pick up from here and staff are happy to help with tour bookings. Very helpful staff .. nothing too much trouble. Good cafe with excellent breakfast and open til late. (good for spotting the odd celebrity we were told)Foyer is decorated with lots (hundreds) of interesting Hollywood autographed photos .. some framed memorabilia in rooms too. Went to LA to visit family and this hotel was very convenient. Within walking distance of cafes, a bakery, grocery store, a mall, and the tourist area on Hollywood (Grauman's Chinese Theatre, etc). Hotel is old but well kept. Decor is framed (often signed) head shots of old movie stars, etc. Has a computer in the lobby hooked up to a printer in the […] office where you can print your boarding passes when it's time to leave. A decent restaurant is attached. Rooms were larger than a lot of newer hotels and included a microwave, refridgerator, flat screen tv. There is free WiFI but it was slow. Room has an air conditioner which was noisey but that was a plus since it's on a busy road with lots of traffic noise. Bring a white noise machine if you have one. Bathroom has double sinks and a shower. Beds were comfortable and there were 4 pillows per bed. We felt safe walking in the area. It's quite a ways from the airport. Be prepared for a $100 cab ride (we chose Super Shuttle which was a long trip but cheap). This is not a luxury hotel but you get good value for the price. Lesa meira

The hotel is old and anyone can come up from the street and get on the elevator which was weird. Close to the Metro making it easy to get to Universal Studios. Front desk called cabs for you which was nice. Cafe 101 located at the base of the hotel was really tasty. The door to our room didn't fit on right. We could see the light from outside shining […] in all the time! Air conditioner didn't work well and neither did one of our hotel keys. The shower was a trickle of water. It was one of those that you just felt the need to wear flip flops in. City street smelled of urine which was gross. Within walking distance to the Walk of Fame and Grauman's, but the walk is really scary at night. I don't recommend that at all. Lesa meira

The hotel appears to be an older hotel that has had a fairly recent remodel. The Hollywood theme is great and fitting when considering its location. The family loved the pool. The attached restaurant had great food and excellent service.

It was so close to Universal Studios and easy to find. The staff was very helpful and attentive. The Valet packed our car for us. The diner attached to the hotel is famous in Hollywood. The food is excellent, true diner style and GREAT coffee!

We were not sure as to where to stay for our first few nights in the USA, but we finally chose Best Western Plus Hollywood Hills and we were not disappointed. It was GREAT!! My two teenage boys and husband thought it was wonderful and we really enjoyed our stay. The beds were so cozy and heaps of hot water for the showers. The 101 diner was also great, […] the atmosphere, decor and food were lovely. Its very handy to all Hollywood has to offer and its in a safe and pleasant neighbourhood. The staff was nice & helpful . The parking staff were good, the pipe under the bathroom sink was broke & leaking, water leaked out of cabinet onto the floor & did wet some clothes & shoes before we knew it.we reported to front desk man came right away, but couldnt fix & had to turn water off @ sink for rest of our stay.

Love the decor and design; feels like old hollywood. Friendly staff, great valet (which was required and extra fee, but worth it). Love the 101 dinner attached. Must try the amazing french toast. Overall great experience at this hotel!

The hotel was very very accomodating when we asked to be near the friends who had already checked in. In fact, we were in the room next door!! I have two complaints about the hotel - 1) the pool was not heated and it was supposed to be, but that didn't keep the kids out of the pool; 2) the laundry facilities is only one washer and one dryer, so timing […] is essential!! I loved the paintings in the laundry room, and would have taken pictures of them if my camera hadn't run out of battery power. Great location close to the Hollywood Theater District. Easy walking distance to short cab ride to Pantages if you are there for an event. Staff was attentive. The property is a bit dated.

First time in Hollywood and was very impressed with this hotel. The staff was friendly and most importantly, the room was very clean. The beds were very comfortable and we liked that there were 2 shower heads in the shower so we could get cleaned up at the same time. The hotel was having some renovations on the ground floor. There was not a comfortable place in the lobby to meet friends who came to visit us while there. I have stayed in many Best Westerns & this one did not offer the amenities that we had become accustomed to in the others.

everything about this hotel is fine, but Cafe 101, which is right in the hotel is amazing. the food is great, lots of choices, you can go healthy or choose from a long list of great items for any time of the day. the people watching is a highlight in Cafe 101 at any hour. We were pleasantly surprised by the clean and comfortable accomodations at the Best Western Hollywood Hills. The location was perfect for us. Close proximity to the theater, Hollywood landmarks and my daughter's home, whom we visited over the President's Weekend. The Cafe 101 is good and convinient as well. I will stay there again.

For the price of this room, the towels could have been better. Very rough and full of lint. If you approach the hotel from the east on Franklin, there is no sign on the building - there is a small Best Western sign on the west side though. Valet parking only (which there is a charge for). My vehicle would not fit in the parking garage (only 6' clearance, […] and I have a Toyota FJ cruiser with a roof rack), so they parked my vehicle in a small outside lot near the lobby, about 20 feet from the valet kiosk. I had to retrieve my vehicle twice, and both times I had to wait about 10 minutes for the valet to show up, and hand me my key so I could walk 20 feet to get my car. I felt stupid giving a tip for that. Shoulda just gotten my hide-a-key and taken my car. Lesa meira

I thought this hotel was great (except for the parking but typical Hollywood) Nice room - kitchenette - huge bathroom plenty of space for 3 of us girls to get ready at once. I gave it a 3 for comfort because the bed hurt my back but again - nice room for an overnight stay close to everything.

Nice surprise. Really like the Hollywood decor. The bathroom is big. Little odd that the window doesn't have a screen. If there was one thing I would warn u about, it would be the noise. The walls seem thin. We could here the neighbors watching I Love Lucy. Other than that, this was a really good place to stay. We would go back. We spent 3 nights at this hotel and were extremely pleased except our room was the munsters theme which I never was fond of the show. All in all our experience with the staff and the hotel we would recommend to anyone going to be close to Hollywood and surrounding area.

Phone was never activated, even though I told front desk. Wake up call not followed through. Room cold, could not find controls and phone did not work to ask desk how to raise heat.
