Best Western Plus Porterville Inn – Porterville

Rooms are are ok and clean but you can almost understand your room neighbor talking. Near the hotel there is almost nothing. You need a car for dining. We recommend eating at Bears Inn. Service is top as well the food! As a summary we can recommend staying for one night but not longer. Breakfast was ok.

Check in was more complicated that it should have been and took forever. I reserved two rooms, but upon reserving, I had to put the names of who would be occupying each room. Upon check in, I was only given one room, when I told him there were two, he said he couldn't find it. The hotel was clean, but the "hot" water was anything but. I stayed for three days and had to take luke warm showers the entire stay. The room was clean, but it looked like the maid rushed thru to get it done.

This Best Western Plus was such a pleasant surprise! It appeared to be newly updated--a fire warmed the cozy lobby as the receptionist checked me in. My room furniture was all new and clean. Pillows were excellent, bed was comfortable. The included breakfast was nice, a step above most with fresh eggs (most likely made from powder), decent breakfast […] sausage, and even hot waffles (along with the other standard cold offerings). We have stayed here before. We come for a quick getaway and to relax. The pool area is lovely but closed due to our January stay. The breakfast has a full menu. In fact, I don't know what else they could have added that other hotels have. The breakfast room hostess was very nice and helpful. We will be back.

We arrived around 7 p.m. on Thanksgiving day. My husband and some other guests spent about 10 minutes ringing the doorbell and knocking on the door which was locked) and got no response. When the desk clerk finally arrived, he said that he was alone and that is why the door was locked. There was no sign on the door. The clerk disputed the fact that […] my husband had spent at least 10 minutes trying to get his attention. Then when the clerk gave my husband the room key card, he told him a different room than the one for the key card. There was also an issue with inconsiderate guests next to us. We could hear their TV blaring and their loud conversation, banging and stomping for hours. I contacted the desk twice, yet the noise continued until early morning. Stayed overnight on Thanksgiving (room 244, single king bed). The room and bathroom are clean, either new or remodeled (no "hotel" smell), the bathroom has nice granite finish. The room has a microwave, coffeemaker and a pretty big "small" fridge (should mention that we had to unplug the fridge for the night as it's noise was a bit too loud). The hotel was clean, comfortable and the staff was helpful and friendly. The "free breakfast" was very good and there was plenty available for all tastes...great selection. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone who is looking for quality, service and afordability...with the stress on clean and service.

We loved staying here. Check out was a breeze and staff helped us get info for Sequoia parks. Free parking close to the room. The room was ready and clean. Had dinenr at a Denny's on site, which gives you 10% off with your room key. Location was quiet. breakfast was excellent. All of the staff was sooooo friendly. Heat lamp in bathroom kept coming on during the night which would then cast a light into the bed area waking us up. Don't advertise continental breakfast and then tell customers with an hour left before the breakfast closes that all of the food is gone. That is poor planning and penalizes people who sleep in.

The hotel was clean and the room was clean. It is conveniently located right off the highway with food nearby. The only two downsides were there is no elevator (only a two story, so this might not bother a lot of people) and the matress was the hardest thing I've ever slept on in my life. Overall, not bad for the price.

I would rate the hotel a 2 star. My bigest issue was the HVAC unit, it sounded like a 747 taking off and then it ran like the engine was missing a few parts.

After a rough night sleeping elsewhere, the Best Western Porterville Inn was a very pleasant experience. And the breakfast the following morning was fantastic.

A clean and friendly hotel with a very nice pool. Breakfast is very good. Porterville is a small spreadout town. The only eating place within walking distance is the attached Wendy's (?). A short drive to more eateries. Overall, a very good one night stop.

AWESOME, CLEAN, COMFORTABLE BEDS....... THE HALLWAYS HAD A WONDERFUL CLEAN FRESH SMELL. HOUSEKEEPING WAS ALWAYS CLEANING AND WONDERFULLY NICE. I ACCIDENTALLY LEFT MY EXPENSIVE SMALL TRAVEL BAG. Internet service was slow, even just for email and did not work at all in the breakfast room. Hotel is a bit old and showing wear and tear, but acceptably clean and good enough for a place to sleep on a business trip.

We got to spend time with him at the hotel and the near by lakes, unfortunatey it was not lake success we had to drive 40 miles to lake kaweah to enjoy a day on the lake. Big room, with space for a two-cushion couch. New, flat-screen TV. Great pool and hot tub. Beautiful landscaping, professionally cared for. A Denny's just in back, and a Burger King kidde-corner on a paved access road two hundred yards away. We stayed 1 night because we were going to a concert at the eagle mountain casino which was close to hotel. we did not know about their breakfast until we left and was reading the reciept. The girls at the front desk were nice and helpful with our questions but should have metioned the breakfast. We had a standard king and were very pleased with the […] bathroom and comfortable bed. W e were in 213 bottom floor,window to roses and pool. Long walk to room if you have alot of luggage and ours was one of the closer rooms. They need to update their tv's to flatscreens. priced a little high for Porterville. there was a parking lot on hwy 190 to catch a bus up to the casino that left every hour in a 24 hour period and would bring you back to the parking lot. Of course, Best Western has a higher standard of quality than most inns you'll find anywhere in the middle of nowhere. My boyfriend and I stayed there for a pair of nights before visiting the Sequoia Natl. Park (about an hour and a half away from Porterville) and everything was wonderful. The town surrounding it isn't too exciting. a Pizzahut was pretty much the only thing that was available late at night for fine dining, but we also stayed there on the 4th of July, so perhaps it was the Holiday that did it. Nice Hotel with beautiful courtyard style garden and pool - Great breakfast with waffles - Breakfast lady was soooo nice and welcoming - big kudos to her for such a warming smile and welcoming attitude every morning. The front staff was helpful but not as 'enthusiastic' so that was just a little annoying. The beds were not sooo comfortable, but I'm use to a sleep number so it was after a long time that I was sleeping on a spring mattress. The room itself was nice, nothing fancy but clean and accessible. We had a sliding door too that opened up to the garden/pool area. Hotel right next to Burger King and Shell gas station, and near local highways.
