We arrived early and were able to leave the bags. When we returned later in the day we were told that they upgraded our room, we thought that was nice. Well now we know why! We were on the grand flood facing the road...and between our two rooms was the garbage cans. It was so loud that first night, every one in the neighborhood used those garbage cans […] and then they picked up about six in the morning..........oh and the large tour buses parked there to load and unload. The beds and room were nice but if you like sleep tell them not to put you on the ground floor facing the road. Lesa meira

Stayed here primarily because of its location to Aphrodite Taverna (worth a visit!) in nearby Hereford Road. On arrival we found we'd been upgraded from a double bed suite to a six bed family room - result! The location is good and very close to Hyde Park, which is a fine walk to Buckingham Palace etc. The room was comfortable, spacious, clean and quiet. […] We felt very relaxed staying there. There were a few issues with the fire alarm on the Monday night; at least it works! Our only minor quibble, which others have mentioned, is having to queue to use the breakfast room. This hotel is a hidden gem. The staff is very helpful and accommodating, the room was big (for London), cleaned daily and in a safe neighborhood. A short walk to Bayswater tube. We rented the 2-bedroom apartment for 2 adults and 2 kids. Each room had a full back and plenty of space for a week long stay.

This hotel is within 10 mins walk to the Bayswater underground station. we use this mode of transport everyday during our 10 days stay . Near by the station are a shopping mall, covenient stores , gifts shops, restaurants serving chinese, western, Fish & Chips , Pub and others. I will definately stay at this hotel on my next visit to London.

The number of self-closing fire doors within our apartment was a little funky, but overall the accommodations were clean, dark at night, quiet, and adequately spacious. Our family was very excited about our stay here and were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at our room. It had two double beds and a massive bathroom that were clean and tidy. We arrived early and stored our luggage, and when we checked in, it was brought to our room. A little something we weren't expecting! My sister and I stayed here for 4 nights and were extremely pleased. Our first room was on the first floor with a big window overlooking the street and we did not feel comfortable with that and they promptly found us another delightful room. Some of the rooms are through winding corridors, but having a small kitchen and two markets a 3-5 minute walk […] away was fantastic. The Bayswater station, one stop from Paddington, was next store to the market. Lots of inexpensive gift shops and every kind of food imaginable just a block away. (and even Pizza Hut, subway, Burger King and McDonalds for those who are not adventurous) From the airport via the express train to our hotel was literally a half hour. Any request we made was handled promptly and they even do one complimentary load of laundry for you. We did not do the breakfast because it was kind of pricey and we got fresh fruit and wonderful baked goods from the market and had our breakfast in the room. The bathroom was quite modern and immaculate with full personal amenities. We were fortunate that our room had three big windows overlooking Kensington Park. I would absolutely stay here again. LOCATION LOCATION! My only complaint, some of the guests were a little noisy in the halls in the morning, but certainly that is not the hotels fault. They also were very reasonable on price. We stayed at the hotel for one night and it was great! The room was a family room and we were really surprised with how clean and well equipped the room was. Thought it was excellent value for money. The gentleman on reception was so friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend!

We had a lovely stay. Breakfast was good but the room for breakfast was not big enought for so many people. We where staying in a queue for 25 min. The other days we took the breakfast to our room.

Room was getting a bit tired - carpet needing a deep clean. Absence of a mirror on bedroom was an odd and inconvenient omission. Breakfast room was overstretched on one of our mornings, resulting in lengthy queues, harassed staff, and running out of some food. Excellent hotel! Came a couple of hours before check-in and there was no problem storing our luggage while we went to explore the neighbourhood. The room was above all expectations and was perfect for 5 friends spending the weekend in London. Great value for money, and good location. A very good overall experience. Our room was a good size, we had a 1 bedroomed apt. and this had everything we needed. We were there for 2 nights and although we had plenty of tea / coffee on our 1st day I did have to phone reception on the 2nd day as this had not been replenished. We had to wait 2 1/2 hours for our room in the lobby. The lobby was freezing cold and we were frozen to the bone. When we did get our room, we had no electricity; we had to wait about an hour for electrity to come on because there was a problem the day we arrived. 1/2 hour after we got our room, we had an electrian walk in on us unannounced. The continential […] breakfast was absolutely disgusting serving deli meats and cheeses. We inquired about upgrading our breakfast and were told it was one pound per slice of bacon. We passed on that deal. We had to wait almost a half hour just to get a cup of coffee. The breakfast room was cold & uninviting & cramped. On the second day while eating, we observed staff recycling fruit off people's plates and putting them back into the baskets as offerings; DISGUSTING! We also observed other people touching and handling all the breads and croissants to figure out which one they wanted; DISGUSTING! When we went to the front desk after day two to cancel our continential breakfast, they advised us that we had to bring it expedia's attention; nothing they could do about it. The water for the shower was luke warm; not hot. We had other guests knock on our door and take off like 10 year olds.One day we had to wait until 5:00 at night to get our tea/coffee replenished. The only thing this accomodation was good for was location only. It was close to all ammenities & attractions; that's the only thing this hotel gets two thumbs up for. Don't eat here. Lesa meira

Hotel location is superb, near the common shops and restaurant. Hotel services is great and the house keeping is also superb. The interior design of the building especially the corridor is too narrow and is not convenient.

We enjoyed our stay very much! Never having been to London before and not knowing really what area to stay it was perfect for us. We took the Heathrow Express train from the airport to Peddington stop and got a 5 minute Taxi from the airport which only cost $5 lbs (a deal we thought) You could walk the 10 blocks or so, but we had some carry-on luggage […] and it was cold! We had missed out connection flight from Mumbai India to London and didn't arrive till the next morning ... we notified the hotel and they saved our room for us. They gave us a bigger room and a King-size bed ... truly a treat as we were exhausted from our travels. We freshened up and I took a LONGGGG hot bath which we did not have much even wArm water showers in INDIA!! WONDERFUL! We were in an area of the hotel that was just a short walk to restaurants... very reasonable! Shopping ... grocery store, pharmacy/drug stores ...as our luggage didn't arrive with us!! Needed a few things! We took the Hop-on Hop-off bus tour for that afternoon! GREAT! Again only a short few blocks to one of the stops! ALL-IN-ALL A WONDERFUL SHORT STAY! My "apartment" was a four-person executive studio, and one person cancelled, so there were three of us, which was fortunate. Hard to believe four (adult) people could stay there, because with the sofa bed open there was no place to put suitcases. Given that, a few more hooks on the doors and walls would have been a big help for hanging towels, coats, […] etc., esp. since it was winter. Don't know where one could put a luggage rack. The beds need to be replaced, too. Noise from the next room was a minor problem. Other than those things, the place was clean, the utensils/appliances in the kitchenette were working, modern, and in good condition. Everything needed was there. The Reception was very busy and disorganised, having been give an updgrade they had not allocated twin beds as per the original booking, it was sorted eventually. Small and cramped for 3 people, which was fine for one night and fine for one or two but dont expect a view. Having said all that the apt was spotless and had all the utilities needed there […] so perfect for our needs at the time. Very close to shops and transport. I found the Grand Plaza to be a good alternative to a regular hotel. Having stayed in London many times in regular often cramped hotel rooms, I chose to trade trade typical hotel facilities/services for convenience of an apartment. It is functional but certainly not posh. The provided kitchenette meant breakfast could be enjoyed in the room by buying […] groceries, at a fraction of the cost of a hotel breakfast. We had a quite troublesome beginning with the hotel: they gave us an apartment in the back of the building, 2nd floor , no elevators (and we were a family of 5, with lugagge,,!!)..but the worst thing was that there was NO heat (in winter in London!) and they did not tell us anything on the check in...and when we asked (we had unpacked already..) they […] told us that tehy would provide us with portable heathers but nothing happened. The next morning I was really mad..and talked with the Hotel Manager....and to be honest, they recognized the error, and moved us to a different part of the hotel, and gave us a discount on the stay. As I always said, a good customer service is not based on not commiting mistakes, but to provide a good solution and be honest with your customers when you've failed.... me and my girlfriend had the executive family apartment was massive and perfect for 6 people.. It was to our taste in decoration & very large rooms. We booked an "apartment" for six which seemed to indicate a suitability for six people. The "apartment" had just one bedroom. Two double fold out beds in the lounge made the number up to six but for all practical senses, this is a three person room. This meant we needed to book a second room. 3 minute walk to Bayswater tube station, easy to catch cabs and buses. Rooms were well set out, clean and very comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel. We found the room to be an adequate size for the 4 of us. The kitchen had all of the necessary equipment, and was very clean. The bath was a decent size with good water pressure in the shower and plenty of hot water. We found the staff to be very accommodating and helpful. The neighborhood felt safe with some […] interesting shops and restaurants nearby. The only drawbacks were the thin width of the hallways, and the loading of a truck on the street at around 11:30 at night on weeknights. We would definitely recommend the Grand Plaza Lesa meira
