Good hotel only 4 blocks from train station. 15-20 minutes from sights. Some traffic noise in room during night. Needs a room safe. Room was good size and in good condition. TV included 2 English stations. Hotel is a little dated. WiFi but no computer for those of us who do not travel with laptops or notebooks.

its ok.bed was not comfortable. towels seemed like so old and not washed. we only stayed for one night. they were kind enough to pack a bag of food for us as we left very early for our flight in the morning.

The location of the hotel was the best thing about it - We were close to virtually everything that we wanted to see and do. The rooms are tired looking, but I would stay again. Breakfast was good

Great location, next to Termini and bus station and close to metro. Single room was clean but tiny with a very small TV. The shower is very small and very uncomfortable for a lager size person. Walls are made of "paper", I could hear very clearly everything going on in the rooms on both sides. The staff is very nice and helpful.

Hotel furniture and design is old but not rusty, very clean, service is exceptionally 5*, room cleanless and hotel cleanless also 5*. very close to all attractions because it is close to termini station.

Near Santa Maria Magiore and Termini, this hotel offers a nice breakfast buffet and huge family suite. The friendly staff speaks beautiful English and is most helpful! Their transfer to FCO was cheaper & faster than taking the train!

The location of the hotel is good .. very close to the central rail station.. walking distance with your luggage. The showers a very small. The room was adequate, nothing special. Clean enough; we also stayed at the hotel Napoleon which is very close by and for another 4 star we liked it much better.

We stayed in the family room with two kids. It was actually 2 rooms with one double bed & two single beds. The hotel is much better than the pictures on it's website. Very nice lobby with friendly stuff. They were expecting us and room was ready when we walked in. Breakfast was good, the area was clean & the servants were polite. Lovely staff, lovely breakfast buffet, good location, we had 2 room and one was better than the other in being larger and cleaner (dirty mirror and some chipped paint, but fully funtional and comfortable) would recommend! As noted before more of a really good 3* than a 4*

This was our third trip. What a difference! Has clearly had a refurbishment and looks a million times better. While we always loved the staff and the atmosphere, I would know quite happily recommend this hotel. Ideally placed to explore Rome, and close to the main station. Clean, comfortable rooms, staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Only complaint is that no tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms, so take your own !! Would stay there again.

We arrived at the hotel to find it boarded up! But there was a little side entrance which led to the reception. This wasnt a brilliant start and the lobby looked a bit old and faded although there were some lovely pieces of furniture and a gorgeous fire place. The check-in was efficient by a somewhat brusque (but efficient) lady and we were taken up […] by the bell boy. The room itself was fairly large and our window overlooked some offices which provided endless (albeit childish) amusement! There was a small fridge with a minibar (nothing spectacular in there but in th summer you would be able to stick in some necessaities without a problem). The batroom was large and clean...with a bathtub and a handheld shower but no shower curtain. There was a slight dearth of plug points I thought but not too bad on the whole. The AC didnt work and the heater was set on a constant high (26 degrees) which for us was stifling. No one could make the thermostat work so we slept with the window open most times - not ideal when you have offices opposite and people able to stare at you while you're asleep (sort of stalkerish but if you like that sort of thing thnen its perfect. On the whole a nice hotel...not far from Termini station with its links to the airport and everywhere else. The area has plenty of nice bars and places to eat at a reasonable price. Breakfast was typical of Europe - breads and cheese, juices and eggs, cold cuts and canned fruit. Lesa meira

hotel was to hot ..had to have window open most of the time...No tea/coffee in your room No sat tv..No free wifi..had to pay 36EUR at end of stay to hotel for city tax never payed this before & have stayed in roma before..so would not be going back.....

I stayed for five days late November 2011. Great location being only 300 metres from Statione Termini and within walking distance of all tourist locations. English speaking staff were extremely helpful. The room temperature was 25degrees C but was able to keep the balcony door open to provide airflow and reduce temperature. From the lobby to the rooms, all at this hotel needs a facelift. Everything a bit shabby. Linens need to updated. The a/c-heat control didn't work. The worst thing was the traffic noise. I got no sleep, it continued all through the night. I would definitely not recommend this place.

The rooms were not up to expectation, more shabby than chic. The walls in the room were grubby & one room smelled badly. The photographs do not represent the true "look" of the hotel. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The Continental breakfast was typical of most hotels in Rome and Venice - no fresh fruit. everything was perfect location, decor, service, comfort, cleanliness, price but if i have to complain about one thing that would be the shower. they have a 24 inch pan for you to stand in. I am 5'6" 125lbs and I barely fit in it after the curtain is closed. I also got the floor outside the shower very wet because it is just to small for a small person […] like me. Don't let this scare you because this hotel is really great.. maybe they can work on giving their breakfast more varity... other than that PERFECTO! If you do, you need to be queuing at 8 a.m. for the Vatican museums unless you want an even longer wait. Try going later in the day. Pay attention to guides as some of the major attractions are not open every day. The Colosseum and Roman Forum ticket is valid for two days but only one visit per attraction, so to avoid queuing buy your ticket one evening and visit the next day. We spent 4 nights here in July 2011. This is not a 4* hotel. Most staff were friendly and helpful, mainly the porters. Hotel is dated and grubby, room was poor, bed uncomfortable, shower awful with grubby shower curtain - breakfast choice was limited with machine coffee. We would not stay again or recommend to others.

Basic but clean hotel room. Star ratings in Rome are not the same as in other cities. Selection of food for breakfast - cereal, toast, ham, cheese, fruit, pastries, which was included in the price. The hotel itself is in a great location (just a few blocks from the train station, and on two main roads that make it almost impossible to get lost in Rome). We were in an economy room, so it was pretty small, but very clean. The shower was really, really small, and tended to flood a bit. Because of that, we had to open the windows, which would have been fine, except there is an awful sewage smell that wafts up in waves all night. Hotel Commodore was a good hotel, fairly new room compared to other hotels in Rome. Staff were nothing out of the ordinary, but pleasant. Rooms were very clean each day. Hotel was in a great location and I would definitely consider staying there again.

It's quite well located, the people who work there are very kind but the hotel urgently needs a major restoration. The rooms have non-working air conditioning and the windows can't be opened, making the room feel like an oven (instead of fixing it, they offered to move us to another room). For the same reason, the rooms smell like an ashtray (courtains, […] pillows, bed linens). The mattresses were bent (with a U shape) and stiff. In the first room that we received, we could see through the gap between door and frame, into the hallway. The door had reportedly been pried open in the past and was awaiting repair. Anyone could have broken in during our stay and seen in first. We were granted a move. Customer Service here is (to put it kindly) practically non-existent. As an American you are treated third rate. Ex.: your talking with Guest Services when an italian comes in the door and straight up to the desk. They ignore you and the others waiting in line and take care of him. No "excuse me", no apologies. Or the breakfast service crew who are […] too busy talking up a storm in the open kitchenette to take care of the Guests having breakfast. By the way, even though it is a "buffet breakfast" it isn't buffet in the traditional American sense - have as much as you want, when you want, any time during the allocated hours. No, here everything is counted and you are only entitled to "one" breakfast, after all the hotel "can't afford to give 2 breakfasts to everyone". One night I told the night receptionist I had to leave before breakfast the next morning. He kindly offered to have a bagged breakfast prepared for me by 6:30am. I said Great! How thoughtful! The next morning he gave me a nicely prepared bag with juice, yogurt, crackers, cheese, etc. Not a full breakfast, but very decent. Since my ride was delayed to well within the breakfast hours, I decided to sit down and have a full breakfast. WOW! He blew his stack at me. How dare I sit down for breakfast, when I had already ordered a bagged breakfast!! Things just went down hill from here. Lesa meira
