We (2 adults + 1 child) stayed here 3 days before our cruise from Rome (Civitavecchia) and 1 day after. Very pleased with the hotel and would come again. Staff pleasant and helpful. Rooms and bathrooms clean, tidy and spacious, high ceiling and interior oozes old classy charm. Free quite fast wi-fi internet for hotel guests. Good central location, close to Terminal station, 15-20 min walk to most of the famous sights. Breakfast buffet quite good and the coffee machine, although automatic, makes an almost perfect cappuchino... for us a BIG PLUS. Some nice restaurants in the vicinity like the Gallo Matto, 5 minutes walk down on Cavour. Just a little minus: Bed mattresses a bit hard for my taste, but slept well anyway.

Pros: - Great location (Colosseum, super market and good restaurants) - Friendly and very helpful staff. - Clean rooms - Computer with internet access in each room. Cons: The only cons that I can think of are: - Very little floor space to store luggage (Minor problem) - Breakfast was only a croissant and a water/cafe at a bakery near by. Would be great if there were some fruits as well. But this hotel is perfect for a couple that are looking for a relatively cheap hotel in a great location! I would recommend this hotel to any couple and if I go back to Rome I would use this hotel again.

Location was pretty good near the city center, about 10 min. bus ride. Staff was very helpful and kind. The room was very nice but the air conditioning was poor. Free internet connection, but it did not work in the room though.

This hotel is as good as 5 star- and amazing for the price. Same block as Westin Excelcier, Harry Bar, Hard Rock Cafe- 5 minute walk to Trevi Fountain. Very Safe neighborhood- high end. Very cozy room- robe with slippers, nice small restaurant on site and good breakfast.

"An amazing experience!"
I am not a reviewer. But our stay at the Stendhal was truly memorable. And the highlight of our 3 week trip throughout Italy. They do the small details well and the service is impeccable!

"The Hotel Stendhal in Rome - not the best"
I recently booked a standard room at this hotel. The trip to Roma was the finale of a 4 week tour of Italy and was the worst hotel I had stayed in. The room was so tiny that the bathroom door would hit the bed - could not open it all the way. The bathroom floor was dirty. When the linnens on my bed were changed - housekeeping made my bed up with the […] dirty sheets underneath the covers. I was truly disenchanted with my room and if there would of been another person sharing the room it really could not be done. 2 of the gentleman at the front desk were very nice although all 3 of the front desk people were very haughty - I didn't feel comfortable asking questions and other than them taking or giving back my room key they ignored me. The hotel is centrally located to the Trevi Fountain but for other sightseeing trips you must take a taxi. I was told by a Roma tour guide that rooms at the Stendhal purchased through Hotels.com would be the cheapest accomodations possible. I didn't believe it until I stayed there. I did see another person's room and it was twice the size of mine, had a balcony and a shower/tub - where as my shower (only) was so tiny that I actually had to step out and then back into the shower because there was no room to turn around. The breakfast that was offered every morning had cold eggs and the cereal choice was uncooked oatmeal mixed with dates and rasins so that it resembled a granola. I did have a roll and jelly with my coffee in the morning so there is one good point regarding this hotel. If you do want to stay at this hotel, please purchase the room upgrade....it will cost you more but unless you want to stay in a room that faces the back of the building with no view, no room to move around, dirty sheets made into your bed, dirty bathroom floor and a shower that only a stick person can use...do not heed my warning. My husband and I loved this hotel. It is everything we hoped it would be; very attractive, roomy and in a great location. Our only reservation was the noise from the extremely busy road outside the hotel. We would return to this hotel because the noise was not a major issue for us, everything else compensated, however it may bother others. "A Good Value"
It's compact, clean, convenient to the sights of ancient Rome and the shopping around the Spanish Steps. The staff was very accommodating and made for a pleasant stay. Their breakfast wasn't remarkable, but a welcomed component of our mornings none the less.

Situated near the Spanish Steps, this hotel is in a great location with acess to metro and major bus lines which make getting around Rome easy. It is also convenient to the Trevi Fountain and Pantheon. I stayed at another 4-star hotel in the same area and this hotel was so much nicer compared to that other hotel (Hotel Sistina).

"Hotel Stendhal - high price, low service"
Best part about the hotel is the location and the breakfast. After that, nothing noteworthy. Room looked at an alley. They forgot the maid service, so no cleaning was done. The computer in the room was a nice touch, but it was broken. I needed an adapter for my USA plug, they did not have one. Some staff were friendly, some very unfriendly. "Great location and friendly staff."
Of the two hotels that I stayed at in Rome, this hotel had the friendliest staff. The staff was friendly and helpful across the board. Rooms are a bit small. The bathroom was large but the shower was unbelievably small. They have a cozy bar for cocktails in the evening and breakfast in the morning.

Small, dark, grubby, didn't smell good and just overall kind of shabby and grubby. I was afraid to walk barefoot on the carpet, it just seemed kind of gross. The front desk did speak english and was friendly enough, I guess. But it was just kind of depressing staying there.

"Hotel Stendhal Rome JE RECOMMANDE FORTEMENT"
L'hotel est très bien, le personnel accueillant, aimable et pro. Les chambres sont propres avec un bon confort, la salle de bain est grande et nickel. Il est idéalement situé pour visiter Rome. Proche de la gare de Termini 15 minutes à pied. Le petit déjeuner est copieux. Je recommande fortement.
Prima hotel. Goede prijs-kwaliteitverhouding en erg vriendelijk personeel.

Tengo que decir que el hotel tiene una situación inmejorable... pero las habitaciones super pequeñas. El desayuno, como latas en sardinas, y un poco escaso...pero el personal es encantador.

"Excelente opção no centro de Roma!"
O Hotel é excelente, super bem localizado e o serviço muito atencioso. O quarto não é grande (como em toda a Europa) mas novo e muito confortavel e possui isolamento acustico (o que é importante pq a rua é bem movimentada !).

"１週間滞在しました"
仕事がらみで行ったので、インターネット接続が心配でしたが、フロントでIDとPWをもらったら２４時間使い放題で無料なのが大変たすかりました。朝早くから出ないと行けないことがあり、７時から朝食なのはすこし遅いと感じましたが、それが問題ない方には非常におすすめです。地下鉄へのアクセスもよく、バス停も近くで、ローマを歩き回る方には非常にいい場所です。帰り、空港まではシャトルサービスをしてくれ、人数に関係なく（２人でしたが）、５０ユーロで送ってくれました。これも便利でした。

Nuestra estancia fue muy agradable, el personal muy amable y siempre dispuesto a servirnos, nos orientaban con mucho gusto y el area del bar era muy acogedora, la pasamos muy bien.
