The rooms are disgusting! Towel and sheets are very old and worn! Would never stay there! I stay in hotels weekly and I have never encountered such a dirty place!

Great location. Convenient to the seaplane port for Island hopping. Better than average restaurant. Friendly, helpful staff. Hotel has great charm but needs maintenance & repairs. Overall rating of C

Everyone was excellant. Close to location where I was working. On the board walk. Many places to eat that where close by. Easy access to down down Christiansted.

so glad we chose to stay at the Hotel Caravelle- the location on the harbor/boardwalk is outstanding. our visit to St Croix was very enjoyable with the help of the staff at hotel giving us all sort of advice. i would stay there again and have recommended it to business associates

Check-in and check-out were a breeze. A/C was not on when I came in and room was quite warm. The remote control for the a/c was not easy to understand and took me several minutes to figure out how to lower the temp. and increase the fan. Did not like the fact there was no vent in the bathroom. The room was quite large and the decor was nice - sort of […] like an old dutch colonial style. The water heat was solar powered. Getting up at 6AM for an early morning meeting meant the water was "almost" lukewarm. Didn't like that but it got my eyes open. By 11:30AM, the water temp. was what hot should be like. Not enough easily accessible power outlets that were not being used. Rum Runners Restaurant was excellent. Food and service were both great. The hotel is an older building and it is showing its age. However, overall, it was convenient for me and a comfortable stay. Lesa meira

Hotel Caravelle is a great place to stay while visiting in St Croix. Located directly on the pier in St. Christiensted, the quaint hotel has lovely rooms and great service. Close to many shops, restaurants and bars, it's the perfect place to stay. The staff was very helpful and accommodating; but the room itself was old, the tile was broken and the grout was dirty. The water in the shower never got warm, the beds were like sleeping on bricks. There was hair in the sink. Yuk!

Old and tired, needs a total re-do. The shower was difficult - hard to get hot water to flow. they had to reset my room key each day, a fact I discovered after walking up two flights of stairs each time.

I loved this hotel. OK so its not the Ritz, but lets face it, you're visiting the wrong island if you want the Ritz. The fact that this hotel opens out on to the boardwalk was excellent. 5 meters away from the hotel was the scuba dive boat and shop, the tour boats, the ferries to Protestant Cay. I've never been at a more conveniently located hotel in […] all my life. The surrounding area is quiet but again if you are looking for a hectic nightlife, then you are on the wrong island. Our stay was great also hospitalty service was excellent , staff great customer service keep up the job you guys are doing. One thing I hope to see on our next visit is some upgrade of the bathroom other than that our stay was excellent

This is an old hotel but it is right on the water and the water view was great. Nice size rooms , good shower and it seemed clean. The staff are hard core island people, not that friendly or helpful. I had to kill a water bug which are probably common. However the food and boardwalk all but made up for the problems. No one forces a hotel on you. You get what you are looking for and that's what I found at Hotel Caravelle. Hotel Caravelle is small, cozy, rustic caribbean styling, with an outdoor pool and a backyard ocean to compliment it. My wife, cousin, and myself found this hotel to be very suitable for our needs. The rooms were good size for standard accomodations, […] with adjustable climate control, basic cable with HBO, refrig, ironing board, room safe, and as they stated shower stalls instead of baths. As a native New Yorker, all I need is a bed to lay down on a night or at leisure after sampling local cuisine and downing rum concotions. The employees were friendly and helpful when addressing certain issues, especially since our trip unfortunately was to bury a love one. The staff was attentive to our needs and treated us like family. For those with the negative comments --- get real. Bottom line is, if you want a "Resort" then go to a "Resort", but if you want a place with charm, then give the Caravelle a try. Lesa meira

My family and I had a wonderful time here. Lots of convenient shopping and dinning availabilities. Staff was so friendly/pleasant. The whole experience was great. I will definitely be staying at the Hotel Caravelle again

I didn't know what to expect from Hotel Caravelle, but I knew that they weren't rated 5 stars from the beginning. The staff is very friendly ,and they were very eager to help me with any questions that I had. They arranged for me to get a taxi to the airport, and left a notice under my door of the scheduled time for the taxi to arrive. It isn't the […] Fairmont, but it was a comfortable room. Our staying at Hotel Caravelle was delightful. The room was very comfortable with a spectacular view of the marina in Cristiansted. The hotel is located at the heart of the town. I have never in my life met such a helpful and friendly staff. The girls in the reception took care of us extraordinary well by recommending us local food places, things to […] do in town…. Wi-fi is available in all rooms and the reception has a computer with internet access too for guests. The swimming pool is open the entire day and night and the restaurant provides great food and great opportunity to meet the locals. During our staying, tropical storm Irene hit the island and the lights went off in the entire town and in the hotel but for the reception. During that night, the manager tried her best with the guests by providing candles, hot coffee and a good talk in the reception office where most guests gathered during that night. I highly recommend this hotel to everybody, the wonderful staff wont’ let you down. Lesa meira

If you looking for hotel in St. Croix for a weekend or a week is the perfect hotel. Nice and clean, and they have one of the best restaurants on Island "Rum Runners".

The staff was extremely friendly. Hotel does need some updating. Excellent view of the ocean. Enjoyed ferry ride and surrounding shops. Rum Runners very good burgers and chicken fingers.

My stay at the hotel was pleasant this not your typical luxuary hotel the chambers maids and the staff were very cool I had one issue the toilet did not flush called front desk and the took care of the problem. This was a cool hotel.

The Hotel Caravelle is located in the center of Christiansted on the port -- a lovely location. Visiting in the summer, however, means the room air conditioner can never really beat the heat. The computer system was down on my arrival, and it took 45 minutes to check in. The hotel's restaurant was a disappointment as well.

I loved the location of this hotel, right on the boardwalk near several bars, stores, restaurants, sight seeing and water sports. The court yard is pretty and very comfortable The swimming pool is set on a rooftop, o that was so nice, ou could swim in private of visitors on the street and yet you could over look the sea and surrounding atmosphere. So […] wonderful. Rum runners, the hotel restaurant, is right on the water serving lots of yummy drink choices, would have liked some island fruits in the eve, however they don't serve fruit in the evening. The hotel rooms were clean and modest. The paint colors were cheery, the beds not so comfy, was able to feel the springs. Our room had a convienent refridgerator that really came in handy. The only "complaint" that I had about my stay was that the A/C unit leaked badly. Becasue of this, there were times that I had to turn the unit off in order to stop the leaking, which made the room very hot. Other than this minor issue, my stay at the Caravelle was perfect.

At first the room I was given had a roof leak and toilet would not flush but when I notified the front desk, I was immediately given another room. The room had a strong smell of carpet deoderrizer since the carpet had just been shampooed but everything else was fantastic.

I did not think that I would like the hotel, but after dealing with the staff, seeing that the hotel was located in the center of activity, and the great restaurant in and around the hotel, I was more than satisfied with my visit.

right on the bay. walking distance to all of downtown. clean, good service and affordable. great breakfast at Paradise Cafe and awesome dinners at Savant. Lots of shopping, dining and recreational activities within walking distance.

The staff at the hotel were all great. The location was excellent a it was literally right on the boardwalk but very quiet at night. The room was large and spotless but. It could do with a bit of sprucing up. A paint job and maybe a nice picture on the wall and this would be a super value. I stayed here when I was on business. Although I arrived 3 hours before check-in, they went out of there way to find a room for me, and did so within 10 minutes. Very good service, perfectly located for Christiansted shops, restaurants and sea plane, all in walking distance.

The room was clean, the A/C worked, I had fresh towels each day and the bed was made every day. The location is excellent! The hotel is in a good location. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpfull. The parking lot is really small and at times hard to manuver out of. The room itself could use some remodeling. The cleaning staff did an excellent job at keeping it clean on a daily basis.

The only thing the room is lacking is a coffee maker in the room.
