Super 8 Motel - Sturgeon Bay – Sturgeon Bay

Price was right. Hotel and rooms are a bit dated, but my room was clean and it was very quiet (exactly what I wanted). If you are on a limited budget like me and you don't care about a fancy newer hotel and all that the fancy extras, this worked great for my needs.

The room was clean . The motel was receiving a new roof. It appeaed that the motel was getting a new face-lift. It served our purpose but wouldn't want to spend the day in our room.

The staff were very friendly and the room was clean and spacious. Had immediate connection to wireless internet.

A hotel doesn't have to be modern and updated but clean and have friendly staff. When our room keys didn't work I went to the front desk and I got attitude for my keys not working. "Was it by a cell phone?" I am sorry but everybody carries a cell phone. If my key happened to go near my cell phone, I am sorry. I throw the keys in my purse with everything […] else I need. I asked for new towels and again we got attitude then we waited 30 min. I had to go back to the desk where I found her talking to her boyfriend. Lesa meira

Very outdated hotel.Picture tube TV and old phone. Stained armchair in room.After washing my hands at sink,heard creaking or dripping in wall.Bad smell in room.Probably is reason window was open when we checked in.

The location is excellent being close to the hwy and downtown. Though the on/off ramps are tricky depending on which way you want to go. There is no direct way to go north onto the hwy. The lobby is nice and the front desk staff pleasant. The carpet in the hallway is stained. The room was clean and basic though it smelled musty. Bathroom was clean. […] Wi-fi was good. We have stayed at this hotel in the past and havent had much of an issue except it wasent the best hotel. We of course did come back because there were no serious issues untill this weekend. On out second night in this hotel we came back early to relax and clean up. We cam back to find the cable would be out all night! We also found that most of the […] outlets in the room didnt work! I did not expect to have to check them the first night.... When you would push a reset botton on one the entire room would go dark. When I spoke to the woman at the desk about this I was rudely argued with and told that the outlets were controled by switches and i must have been messing with them and did not have them on. Me my mom and my 5 week old stayed here just to enjoy a couple days in Door County. We stay pretty cheap because we are never in the room. The hotel did not have an elevator and with an infant and all the luggage the stairs were hard. We checked in around 10:30pm and the girl gave us our room keys and we got to the room and started to walk in and realized […] the room was already occupied. could hear everything but thankfully no one decided to make noise later! Was told room was being cleaned so couldn't get in early but walked by room and no one was there! I know it was a lie! It would have been nice since we traveled 5 hrs for a wedding!

Within striking distance from Egg harbor, Fish Creek, Sister Bay and Ephiram. Level of trim is very basic, nothing fancy. No particular complaints. Breakfast was included. The indoor pool and spa are pretty nice. Overall, reasonable place at a reasonable price.

There was NEVER anyone at the front desk. We always had to wait for someone to come. Their "SUPER" breakfast was PITIFUL, sour waffle mix, no fresh fruit or yogurt, warm-cool coffee, one morning sour milk in the cooler. We were there for 3 consecutive nights and had to go down and get our keys "rekeyed" twice!! Why is that? They knew we were staying […] 3 nights!! How can they get by with no elevator with a 2 story building? The exit from the south was fine, but if you came from the north you had to go the business route through town or go past the exit and circle around from the south. The hotel was clean. The breakfast needed to be stocked with more food. Ran out of food quickly. Overall great hotel for the price.

Nice clean rooms. Quiet area. Pricey for a Super 8. Was disappointed that there was no public work station with computer and internet. That was expected in the price range we paid. Overall a nice motel.

The house keeping was awrful. We had to go to the front desk to get clean towels and our door was left open after they "cleaned" our room.

Updated rooms! No smokey smell like in so many older hotels. Only bad part is the location. Too close to busy road and windows don't keep street noise out. Very comfortable for an economy hotel.

This hotel was ok for a couple of nights. The staff was pretty friendly, but they obviously had some booking issues with the people booking using other methods than calling the hotel directly. Also, there is no wi-fi in the rooms, you must be in the lobby to use it. The breakfast (which we looked at but didn't eat) consisted of just continental items, […] other than waffles. The room was clean and comfortable. We also enjoyed the pool area. It appeared as though much of the hotel had been upgraded with new paint, carpeting, etc. In fact, the pool area looked as though it had been completely redone. We'd stay in this hotel again.

I stayed here with my sister. It was good for the price for the area. If this hotel was anywhere else I would expect it to be at least $40 cheaper. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. The only issue that we ran into was that the phones were not working. Not a huge deal when you have a cellphone... unless you are Canadian and you don't want to pay […] roaming charges. The staff suggested using the phone at a nearby gas station instead... I'm pretty sure they had a phone in case of emergencies around that should have been made available when none of the other phones are working. Lesa meira

The hotel was way over priced for the quality of the hotel. The pool and whirlpool was nice except the lights were not turned on and it was after 10:00 PM. in the pool area. The room was ok, but really needed to be updated. There was no eleavator and we were placed on the second floor. There was no ice machine on the 2nd floor. The staff at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. We were even allowed to use the breakfast room to visit and play cards with other family members also staying here in the evening. The room was fine - only one miss - the kleenex container was empty. Thank you.

Hotel visit was OK. The only part that bothered me was that the cars of the manager's two teenagers were being parked in the handicap spot on a regular basis. I mentioned this to the desk and it continued to happened. We were there for 3 nights and these kids' cars were in the handicap spot at least 75% of the time. When we arrived, one of the kids […] pulled into the handicap spot and when I brought it to her attention, she said she would only be there for five minutes - 90 minutes later, the car was still there. Hope they get ticketed sometime soon. I have a relative that is handicapped and I see this type of abuse often. Lesa meira

The pool is pleasant with the hot tub and a pool table in the pool area. Very close to downtown Sturgeon Bay and hi-way, it is a small town. Front desk was a pleasure, very honest and helpful after I messed up on my reservation they fixed it with Expedia. TV has enough channels but no premium stuff. First, the room shown on the Hotels.com website was not the room we were given, so we had to upgrade and pay the difference. We were told on Hotels.com that breakfast was included and then when we checked in, was told we had to pay extra for that. Our room must have been a smoking room at one time because it smelled like smoke, so we had to go buy disinfectant […] spray to reduce the smell. When we went to use the pool, it was so cold, we couldn't swim. When we finally checked out and left the hotel, all of our clothes, luggage, etc. smelled like stale smoke. Very disappointed..No towels were in our room, so we had to go and get towels every day..Would not recommend to any friends or family, we were very disappointed as this was a getaway for my birthday.. Considering the price, this place was conveniently located for what I needed and the basics were handled. The towels were replaced, beds made, etc. Except for one day, when the room was not taken care of at all. I was there for five days, and this didn't really matter to me. I did, however, leave a few items behind, which they held onto until I contacted […] them days later. When I need new key cards, they were on top of it. Great hotel for the price.We were there 3 days.The rooms were clean every day.The pool water was warm where you could just walk into the water.They have a restaurant that delivers great food in about 1/2 hour,at a good price.

There is a little remodeling going on on one of the wings, but no big deal. It is located right by the main highway, but yet right on the edge of town. Less than one hour from Green Bay, and within close proximity of the other cities in door county. Very clean, and a very nice pool.

From the reviews I read before going to this hotel I was not expecting much just looking for a good bargain for a girls weekend to Door County. The location is a bit of a drive to wineries and other Door County Activities but not that far. The room was clean for the most part, but not the best I have been to by any means. The pool and hot tub were nice. […] The breakfast was not very good at all. There is make your own waffles which sounded like it would be good but the syrup was horrible. If you are just looking for cold cereal and juice this will work. By far the worst part of this hotel was the staff...they were impolite and not at all courtious when asking for the proper amount of towels in your room for the amount of ppl staying in it or extra pillows. They were just rude. They assumed that becuase we were a younger group we would be disruptive. We were there to have a good time but we are adults not children and we were not looking for someone to chaperone out trip. Great hotel for a very cheep price, couldn't beat that part! Lesa meira

Two problems A; We were on the first floor (ok with us) window curtain bottom was 7 inches higher than the sill, all could see in. I asked for this to be fix or move (the first hour we were there(Thursday) they said ok, 4 days later still not fixed. I ask they said yes sure, still never fixed, or moved us. Clerk at check-in was a bit rude. Clerk at check-out was friendly. Hotel is located between a highway and frontage road. Hotel does appear quite dated but room was clean enough. No iron/board that I saw. Would probably opt for something a little nicer next time I'm in S.B., but can't say I would never stay at this Super 8 again.

We choose the Super 8 in Sturgeon bay because it was near all the attractions. hotel was under remodeling, but still fully functional, Breakfast was good and pool area was awesome. would stay there again.

When we arrived, the first thing I noticed was that it isn't in a very nice area. The guy at the desk was very nice and helpful. When we found our room, the lock looked like it had been forced opened at some point and now was replaced. The door wasn't even closed all the way and we just had to push it to open it. Once inside, we noticed the door also […] had a chain lock on the door (how comforting to know that if we leave, our belongings are not safe at all). The room had a TERRIBLE smell. It was in great need of remodelling and updating. The only reason we stayed after all of this was because we were only staying one night and I thought we could handle it. The next morning, the breakfast was fine. I tried to get more towels and shampoo from the housekeeper in the hallway, and she could not speak English and she had to point to her cart to figure out what we needed.
