Bernini Palace – Flórens

Bernini Palace made us feel like royalty for our stay. Our room was very spacious and well appointed. The bathroom was very large as well. We had an extremely comfortable bed with linen sheets. There was plenty of closet space. The staff was very helpful in getting tickets for the Uffizzi so we only had to wait 15 minutes. Breakfast was really nice […] and included just about anything that you could want and was in a lovely room that had been a parliament room. The hotel shuttle driver took us to our car rental when we left and made that an easy transfer. All the staff were most helpful and knowledgeable. Lesa meira

Loved this hotel!! I didn't think I would because it appeared somewhat stuffy and baroque. And I don't know if we caught a good price but it was on par with other more expensive hotels. The breakfast staff and one desk/concierge man in particular were wonderful - very helpful and courteous. They would help you with any request. The included breakfast […] was a delicious feast - large array of hot and cold items, eggs, meats, vegetables, cheeses, many juices, several kinds of milks (soy, almond, etc), pastries, coffee, cappuccino - completely worth any up charge. The rooms are formally decorated but very nice. Ours was a bit on the small side but very comfortable and the bathroom was large/modern. Turn-down service with chocolates was a plus. Good location, very close to Ponte Vecchio, Loggia dei Lanzi, Uffizi, Piazza della Signoria (Palazzo Vecchio and Gucci museum), Florence Cathedral, and Basilica of Santa Croce. We loved this hotel. Staff were wonderful and accomodations lovely. It use to be a Parliment building a few hundred years ago. The breakfast room was where they held meetings, it was gorgeous, and the food was good too. The lobby was huge for Italy and the bar service great. Concierge were very helpful in getting you where you need to go. They hire […] lots of drivers to take you out to the country or where ever you want to go where the trains and buses don't go. Get a driver if you have more than 3 people. It's a better deal than a tour. Excellent hotel! I would stay there again. Lesa meira

Im going to be very short on this cause everything, yes everything, was 10/10. This place has it all: excellent staff, great location, good rooms, AMAZING breakfast, and small details that make you feel special. My first time in Firenze and for sure every time I shall return I will consider Bernini Palace as my first option.

Can't say enough about the helpful staff, beautiful rooms and large bathrooms. The comfortable lounge area and bar were also great. The location perfect. Have stayed in one other hotel in Florence which while the same price did not measure up to the Bernini Palace for rooms or location. If we get back to Florence this is where we will stay.

The hotel is brilliantly placed for all the sights and is a lovely building with an Italian style of decoration. Reception was polite if a little brusque but that might have been down to a difference in culture. I had booked a standard double room which was a good size and spotless. A lovely touch was having linen sheets which were replaced every day. […] The bathroom was also really clean and provided lots of toiletries. The breakfasts were excellent with a good selection of cooked and continental breakfast and held in a really grand room. Having said that the staff were always polite and more than willing to help. Only down side was not having tea making facilities in the room but we ordered some tea at the bar late one night and the waitress was absolutely charming in providing tea, chocolate and biscuits! With excellent staff and a perfect location for sightseeing and eating out the Bernini Palace proved to be first class. We were staying on a B&B basis and were delighted in the quality of the breakfast on offer and the attentive service. A small drawback was that the room was a little overwarm (it was mid-November but we couldn't get the hang of the […] heating controls) and the front desk, though very helpful, ramp up the charge for pre-booking museums. As the hotel is very close to the major sights it is easy to visit for pre-booking or, better still, pre-book on line before your trip. These two minor problems apart we thoroughly enjoyed ur stay and would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel. Lesa meira

Hotel Bernini Palace was beautiful! The service was prompt and helpful, the location was ideal, close to all must-see sights, but in a quiet location, not a busy thoroughfare. My only complaint was that the heating system was set so that my room could not be cooled at all and it was consistently at 20-25 degrees celcius, so warm that I had difficulty […] sleeping at night. Also, it wasn't until I talked to the third person at the front desk that I found out that it couldn't be changed. My mother and I stayed here in Oct and couldn't have been more pleased with how lovely the Classic room was. Very clean with a luxurious spa sized tub. Breakfast was good. They had prosecco for mimosas, and even had a few gluten free options. The location couldn't have been more convenient. I would definitely stay here again.

I like the location. Franco at the bar was very nice and wine/drinks reasonable. I would prefer down blanket instead of existing. The laundry was expensive and wasn't very clean. Overall nice and I would recommend the hotel and would return.

Lovely hotel, great location. We stayed in room 416 - only slight quibble was the a/c which reverted to 18 degrees everytime we left the room (too cold), until we worked out to leave a key in the electrics when we went out. Staff didn't seem able to fix, but otherwise staff were excellent

Booked 3 nights in the "Deluxe" section - check in and entered a room that smelled a little bit like sewage - the windows faced in internal courtyard/sounounding buildings with no view - But nice room. Inquired about a new room and they gave us one on floor two facing externally with a beautiful view of the town . It was the nicest room in the hotel […] and was a beautifully appointed. - high ceilings, nicely decorated and spacious. Breakfast was brilliant - meats, cheeses fruit and impeccable service - just don't show up late (after 10:30am). Best hotel location possible as close to the center of town as you can get. Valentina and the entire staff offered perfect service and she booked two beautiful tours for us. Excellent location - 5 mins to the Uffizi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio in one direction and 5 to the Duomo group in the other. Train station 15-20 mins walk. We to a taxi to the hotel on arrival because of the torrential rain. Taxi was just under €8. Staff were attentive from the moment we stepped out of the taxi - door opened, suitcases taken, checked […] in and shown the main rooms of the hotel and to out room. We had a classic double room. Plenty of storage, in-room safe, immaculately clean, towels changed twice daily, bedding daily, plenty of toiletries, slippers by the bed and chocs/sweets at bedtime. Only slight negative is the bathroom - needs a better shower enclosure to prevent leaking although there is a spare towel rolled up on the floor to soak up the leak. Extractor fan is useless but I've found this to be true in the majority of hotels. Positive - breakfast. The staff make the hot drinks -excellent cappuccino and espresso. The buffet:- fruit juices, water,sparkling wine, yoghurts, 3 cereals, prepared fruit, whole fruit pieces, Italian cheesecake, sponge cake, croissants, cream filled croissants, blackberry crostata, a couple of other pastry items, scrambled/boiled eggs,bacon, prosciutto, ham, turkey, mozzarella balls, cherry tomatoes, grilled peppers/courgettes, sliced bread, bread rolls, crackers, cheese, butter, jams, honey and Nutella. Check out was smooth and we left our cases with the staff so we could enjoy a proper last day. Lesa meira

Staff very helpful, hotel in a good central location. Only downside to central location is street noise if you have a room facing on to the streets. Ear plugs came in handy! Windows didn't close properly which contributed to noise pollution.

We just completed a 5 night stay at this wonderful hotel. We were upgraded to a Junior Suite, and it was amazing. The room was huge by European standards, and the bathroom with a full size bathtub/shower was very comfortable. The double sink left plenty of room to get ready in the morning. The bed was very comfortable. The decor made us feel like visiting […] royalty! The breakfast buffet was very nice and included hot selections as well as sparkling wine. The cappuccino was amazing. We stayed here because of all the good reviews we read It was all pretty much spot on fantastic hotel great location friendly staff clean beautiful rooms with sufficient space. Excellent breakfast If you read reviews about noise in Florence, it's true and it's not the hotel's fault. It's just that all the walls of the buildings are made of stone so […] anybody who's out drinking night loud will be heard regardless of where you stay. Hotel has a lot of attractive design touches and well maintained. Breakfast service is impeccable. Rooms are small, but not any more than rooms in Europe in general. Charming hotel with charming staff. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the public areas are beautiful. The breakfast was great and you couldn't ask for a more central location. I would definitely stay there again and would highly recommend the hotel.

Overall, the stay was prett average. Great location and close to all the major attractions in Florence. The staff was fairly helpful with requests. The main issues I had were with the cleanliness of the rooms. It's pretty clear the hotel went under a recent renovation and skimped on some items. The finishings look cheap (paint was off, fixtures were […] plastic, mold in bathrooms) and it's clear the hotel is trying to be something it's not. The overall decor was tacky and I had a mosquito problem in my room (woke up with bites and management was not helpful). This place is not a 4 star hotel as its classified, but probably closer to a 3 star hotel. For the amount paid, I would look elsewhere. Lesa meira

Bernini Palace Hotel is a fabulous hotel which exceeded all our expectations! The service we received at this hotel was outstanding during our entire 4 night stay this month. Every staff person we encountered was professional, courteous, and promptly attentive. The breakfast room was beautiful - a truly pleasant environment in which to begin each day. […] The breakfast room staff were superior to any we have encountered in our travels. The extensive breakfast buffet was excellent and, to our great surprise, included scrambled eggs and bacon - a rarity at European hotels. Our room and bathroom were quite spacious, nicely furnished and decorated, and immaculately clean. We especially appreciated the beautiful, pure linen sheets and shams. The exquisite turn-down service each evening was 'first class'. The only negative comment would be the problem of water leaking on the bathroom floor due to having only a partial shower enclosure - which seems typical for European hotels. Bernini Palace is just steps away from the Piazza della Signoria - a delightful piazza for enjoying outdoor dining. (Also close is beautiful Piazza della Repubblica.) The hotel is within easy walking distance to all the major tourist sites in Florence. The Uffizi Galleria and Palazzo Vecchio are located at Piazza della Signoria. We look forward to future stays at Bernini Palace Hotel. In our opinion, it absolutely deserves 4 very bright stars! Lesa meira
