overpriced for the accomidations. no continental breakfast. resturant only had buffet meals. freindly staff. wouldn't stay again.

While the hotel is at the beginning of Deadwood it is far removed from the other casinos. The trolley stop is a little ways from the hotel. The dinner buffet is very small, the crab was over done and the prime rib was tasteless.

No complaints. A good hotel for the price. Easy to find. First hotel when you come into Deadwood. Pretty typical room - 2 queen beds, flat screen tv, good size bathroom, coffee maker. Clean but nothing fancy. About a 15 minute walk to downtown Deadwood (there's a nice walking path most of the way). Or there's a casino as part of the hotel complex. No problems at all with hotel during stay. Security providing transport from building to casino is a plus.

A group of 10 stayed here during the rally. I absolutely would stay here again.

The girl who checked us in did not tell us that there was a restraunt downstairs and she forgot to give us parking passes for our motorcycles. We were looking for a place to eat, and the next day someone told us that in the basement was a wonderful buffet.

It is a very basic hotel, but clean and just to spend one night, it was fine. Location is good and parking was very good.

We stayed at the First Gold because it had the most affordable price with decent reviews. Our bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. Our window opened up to a cliff face and the shower is standing only. Also, the tv's are really small for a newer hotel. But the staff was friendly and the buffet was pretty good!

first gold had great service, the desk person was one of the nicest people ive ever met, he helped us get to our room (there are alot of them in 3 different buildings) and he helped with directions to local reastaurants. the room was a little out dated but very clean and well taken care of.

great little stop in Deadwood On site Casino was fun. No breakfast, but room was comfy and clean and conviently located for the 1 night we stayed there

Had To Wait For my 2 rooms Staff was rude . When I Got My Rooms They were 1/2 a Block away in another Building No one told me they were in another Building Not very Convent to anything

The room was good. the parking lot had no security. It was dreadful trying to find the right building to get checked in. The lady behind the front desk was very unfriendly and could have cared less that we had a problem trying to find the main office as there are 3 buildings and they all had registration above the door, not clearly marked.

Hotel was OK but kind of far from the main action in Deadwood. There was a shuttle that ran every half an hour.

We arrived very late and left very early, but we found our room to be very clean and comfortable. It was on the far end of town, which is the only bad thing we could say about it.

I was very disappointed with the room and our whole experience at this hotel. Normally we stay at the Super-8 but they were booked solid for the weekend we wanted. At this hotel the shower handle fell off when turning on the water, the water was only luke warm, and there was no water pressure at all just a dribble. I thought the room smelled odd also. […] I want a room that has both a shower and a bath tub, not just a small shower that does not work. The bed was not very compfortable at all. I was always passed by from the guy on the golf cart that is supposed to pick you up and drive you to the casino from your hotel. If you like walking this is the casino and hotel to stay at! But I will not make the same mistake twice. I have been coming to Deadwood every year since 1994, and this was the most disappointing time we have had. For the kind of money these hotels charge for your stay, they should make every effort to make your stay enjoyable and happy, plus make you feel like you recieved good value for your money. The hotel was very new and the room was very up to date and clean up until the next day. The room service was terrible, the maid did not puck up our trash or empty bottles. Ask the did was make the bed and give us fresh towels. Also the showers water was extremely weak. Will not stay here again. Lots of hotels closer to down town as well.

We stayed in the newer section of this hotel and it was really nice! The rooms were big and the bed comfortable. Enjoyed our stay. Did not care for the casino buffet though. It was $20 and didn't have very many choices of food. The salad bar was very weak, not happy. But the room was very nice.

We were very impressed with our room, the facility in general, and the friendliness of everyone who works there. This was our first trip to Deadwood and these people made the experience enjoyable. The breakfast buffet was excellent and priced reasonably. The slots were pretty friendly, and we enjoyed the variety offered.

The first person we dealt with should not have been working with the public at all. There was construction near the motel and therefore we could not board the trolly where it normally would stop so instead of accomodating us with a ride to the nearest stop we were told we would have to walk at least a half of a mile. We were told originally that the […] trolly stopped by about every half hour right by the casino. Even though the room was clean, I have been in larger elevators. The bed barely fit in the room and my boyfriend and I could not walk anywhere in the room at the same time. My boyfriend is 6'2" tall and the shower was about 5'8". It was so bad that we had paid for 2 nights but went and found another motel for our second night in Deadwood so it ended up costing us a lot more than we had anticipated. Needless to say I would never recommend this motel to my worst enemy. Lesa meira

the motel is very comfortable. It is a little confusing with all the different levels and building of how to get to our room. But otherwise, after learning our way around, it was very good. We will stay there again.

The Staff at First Gold were great. they were there to help with any issues that may occur. Check in was a bit of a hassle only because it was not completely clear which office we were supposed to check in at. Once again, the staff was very kind and helpful. the hotel is located at least 1/2 mile from downtown deadwood and the shuttle buses dont run every 1/2 hour. There is no hot tub or pool and the tv was the size of a postage stamp. Entry and exit of the hotel is confusing because of the floors and half floors. The bathroom is small and the shower doesnt turn off completely when done and you are showered […] with cold water. Our hotel room is located 2 blocks from the hotel casino. Very in conviente. Rooms didn't have any pictures or mirrow very plain and boring. When exiting the parking ramp no mirrows to show someone driving up the ramp. No gifts for firstime customers. No promotions for birthday month.Way overpriced. Room was clean and spacious even with a king size bed. The bed was comfortable. It would have been nice to have extra pillows though. The staff very friendly.
