We were pleased with our room and the service at the Ramada Amherst. We had dinner in the restaurant and enjoyed the food and the entertainment. We also enjoyed the continental breakfast which enabled us to get on the road quickly the next morning. We would certainly stay there again when we are in the area.Lou
The staff was friendly and the room was clean. Breakfast bar could use improvement. Pastry was stale and one of our party found his muffin had mold.

Stayed here while attending a conference at SUNY-Buffalo. For the price, it had coffee, a very nice breakfast (not just danish!), and free parking & wi-fi. I couldn't have been more pleased.

Very quite, clean hotel. Very close to the university, which would be very convenient for visiting the university. Quite close to many restaurants and shopping. We very much enjoyed our stay. The only down side is no pool or hot tub, which would have been nice.

Spendid room in a peaceful neighborhood. Everything was clean and to my surprise quite new. Hard to get by without a car, but overall a great room.

"friendly staff, quiet location"
The hotel is a little bit outside Buffalo, so it takes a good half hour to get to the centre by bus (busses are a little infrequent). All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The pick up and drop off service to the airport was excellent. The room was spacious and comfortable and we would consider staying there again.

Our stay at this hotel was great. The staff were so polite and helpful, went out of their way to make every guest welcome. The room was lovely and clean. I guess my only complaint would be you could hear the guests in the next room, but it didn't bother us that much. I requested a room on the main level, and we got exactly as requested. Also, got a […] great deal on hotels.com, so I was pleasantly surprised that it was so nice. I would definitely stay here again, and would definitely recommend this hotel to my family and friends. If you want to stay here, bring your own bedding. Looked like someone else had slept in the bed- and sheets hadn't been changed! Big globs of nasty hair on both beds! NEVER again will we stay here!
I had trouble to make a toll-free call from the room phone. Except this trouble, everything was great.

"Tucked back from the street and quiet"
I stayed at the Ramada Amherst to take the NYS Bar Exam in Buffalo. It was nice and quiet (for my studying). The hotel's location was fine because I rented a car.

Our stay here, while visiting Niagara Falls, was quite acceptable and we were not inconvenienced in any way. Reaching the hotel was a bit tedious but perhaps that's just me. The locality in which the hotel is located is safe, although I did not see any major grocery or retail stores. I think there was a pharmacy there though. We stayed here for a night in the first week of June. The service was nice - the room did not have a microwave, and so we requested for one. It was promptly provided in a matter of minutes. "Ramada close to Buffalo"
You get what you pay for. An old hotel with breakfast time, even during holiday, till maximum 08.00 AM. This hotel gives a feeling back to the 60 th. Good think, not smelling. It is just ok for one night.

All was well, the room was a little smelly but nothing bad for a night's stay. The breakfast in the morning was surprisingly good and neatly maintained. It was plentiful too. Dunno about Room service as I checked out the next morning. Thanks Staff!

"NOT TOO BAD"
The hotel wasn't too bad! We stayed there after a wedding, the walls are a little thin (the man snoring in the next room sounded like he was in our bathroom!!). My only complaint is that, when we arrived at breakfast just a few minutes before it ended, the girl working took away things like milk for cereal, cream for coffee, spoons! All in order, basically […] to be sure we didn't stay long. I understand that there is time to end breakfast you do it, but to clear things away while people are standing there-it was just rude. The hotel staff was fabulous - very helpful and courteous. But the hotel itself is near nothing, and if you are there without your own ground transportation, you are out of luck for restaurants, movies, shopping, etc. Also, the architect who designed the lobby should be required to work the evening shift every day for the rest of his/her life. It is […] an acoustical nightmare when people in the overhanging alcove get to talking loudly. They can't hear themselves over the reverb so they talk even louder. "Hotel is okay, but billing is not, be careful"
The hotel stay is consistent with the user reviews I saw, 3 out of 5. The part that is very disturbing is the apparent fraudulent billing practice by this independently owned hotel. I booked 2 rooms and stayed in the rooms only for few hours - from 1 AM to 9 AM or so. At check-out, I was told everything is okay. But when I checked my credit card few […] days later, I saw a charge of $45+ by the hotel. When I called them, they told me that the guests in my 2nd room had watched 3 movies and the charge was for that. I know that this is false because of the following: 1. these guests did not know how to order movies 2. they did not have time to watch any movies (the hotel stuff told me they watched the movies at 6 AM or later). 3. I asked my guests and they confirmed that they did not even turn on the TV in that morning, forget about watching movies. 4. I recalled now when I was checking in, I heard another lady was arguing with the front desk about similar issue - movie charges on bill but they claimed they did not watch. I think this hotel has a practice of billing this charges to guests which they think they can get away with. I do not know how I can disprove their claim. So, I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone Lesa meira

"Watchout from dripping water from the ceiling"
I booked two rooms in this hotel. And one of the rooms is raining water from the ceiling.. no literally.. the water was coming out so fast that you can think it as rain drops... I had to call the housekeeping twice to get the the things fixed.. nm.. but I haven't heard any apology from the management regarding this.. now you decide.
