"Hotel Sofitel, Luxembourg"
The hotel smelt very strongly of cigar smoke. We arrived at night so we were told by the front of house staff that the restaurant was open and when we went there even thoough there were more empty tables than full ones we were told the restaurant was fully booked. We ordered room service and only 1 of the meals came.

Very nicely appointed room. Hotel is modern and chic. Only negative is the location....in the financial district. Lots of construction in the area. But, I would recommend. Nice service, and dog friendly

this hotel was understaffed.... there was no one at the entrance to take my loggage. I had to carry it upstairs by myself....No doorman. They didnt serve warm food for room service at late night... Odd hotel this, or at least it is if staying at the weekend, with a feel of the Marie Celeste. There are almost no guests at weekends as it is a business hotel. All restaurants close over the weekend, although food is available in the one bar, with a limited choice. We stayed on route back to Calais, and as such it worked. This hotel is beautifully appointed and the staff could not be more helpful. Rooms are huge and the bed gigantic. The free soft drinks in the room's refrigerator are very welcome. At present, there is a huge amount of development work taking place in the area, and my Satnav got totally confused trying to find the hotel. You need to use your eyes as […] well as your computer. Best landmark are the two huge gold-coloured towers next to the European Court. Easy bus service 100m from the hotel to/from central Luxembourg and also to the airport. I have two minor criticisms - at €25, breakfast seems very expensive compared to other hotels I have used - also hotel parking is rather expensive given the cost of the rooms. Highly recommended for business travellers. Not the best choice of hotel if you are on a sightseeing holiday. And - definitely book through hotels.com - their rates at this hotel are a fraction of the price some of my fellow-guests paid ! Lesa meira
"Sofitel Europe - Luxembourg"
What you would expect of a 5 star Sofitel Hotel. Got a great deal on the room and all went to plan. The hotel is in the government building area and about 1.5kms to the city centre. If you like walking, an easy walk to do or buses leave regularly from the back of the hotel. For the price this was great deal and can highly recommend the hotel

Nice hotel. Not in the center of the city, but in the business/banking district. If you are looking for a nice room and don't need to see the center, this is a good place to stay.

Nous voulions un hôtel tout confort et nous n'avons pas été déçus. Ce n'est pas donné, mais l'hôtel vaut largement ses 5 étoiles. L'accès au parking est un peu malaisé mais pour tout le reste, c'est impeccable.

Bij aankomst ziet men het hotel direct liggen. Alles zag er keurig uit. Enkel stuitte ik bij aankomst al op een minpunt. De valet sprak geen duits of nederlands. Enkel Frans of gebrekkig Engels. En voor Luxemburg is Duits toch een herkende taal. De receptioniste sprak wel keurig alle talen. De kamer was op orde, met alles netjes gerankschikt. Enkel […] vond ik de badkamer ietwat slecht onderhouden. De kitranden waren versleten, en op bepaalde plaatsen was plaatwerk niet netjes weggewerkt. De nachten waren rustig, ondanks de drukke omgeving (Nabijgelegen hoofdweg) door de ramen wat al het geluid drukte. Het ontbijt kon niet beter zijn, en was zijn 25euro waard. Het personeel was vriendelijk en erg behulpzaam, op de manager na, die wat bot deed bij de check-out. Verder was ik redelijk tevreden. Lesa meira

"Fine hotel in boring location out of city center"
Kind staff and nice big room. Interior was a little out of fashion for a 5 star hotel, but nice and clean. The hotel was not so cosy, but more streamlined in the decor. Food in hotel was pricy (so we chose to eat in town) and internet is 7euro for 1 hour! You have to pay to use hotel parking and the hotel is 25 min walk from center. Jeg anbefaller alle dette hotellet. Finnes ikke i selve sentrum, men blant moderne bygninger i administrativ senteren av EU. Man kan gå til fots i ca 25 - 35 min til sentrum av Luxembourg og se ovenfra broen på gammel nedre byen. Fin opplevelse!
