A mature couple from Quebec City, we were enchanted by our three night stay at the Bamboo Orchid Cottage. Exquisitely decorated, the Royal Orchid room was the ultimate in comfort with heated king size bed,(temperatures dipped to a unusual 54 degrees during our stay), fireplace, all the modern amenities and ensuite with spa bath and french doors leading […] to our personal porch. Our host, Gary was both helpful and entertaining and makes a mean Papaya Boat for breakfast! Food was healthy and plentiful and the coffee excellent. Located in a secluded rain forest neighborhood, the Bamboo offers lush vegetation and total quiet. We switched to the Treehouse for the third night, a two level cottage with bedroom on the second floor with views on two sides of the rainforest and it's inhabitants. The resident cat joined us for cocktails on our personal terrace! The Treehouse is great for families while the Bamboo Cottage is the ultimate romantic getaway! Lesa meira

We stayed 2 nights at Bamboo Orchid Cottage in a lovely room with beautiful bed linens. Cathy, our host, stayed late to welcome us in the dark, and was very helpful in planning our visit to Volcano. The innkeeper Kathy was very gracious and help us with planning hikes and places to eat. The breakfast was very good and carried us until lunch. Volcano is a very interesting place and the Bamboo Orchid was the perfect location for the sites.

Bamboo Orchid Cottage is a beautiful home in a jungle-lush neighborhood approximately 5 minutes drive from the "center" of tiny Volcano Village. When we arrived quiet music playing in our room and the gas fireplace gave the room great ambience! Breakfast was yummy, and we enjoyed visiting with the other guests. We were comfortable and happy. We loved it!

The breakfasts were delicious.Host Kathy was accommodating with excellent recommendations for local restaurants. My room was special: a jacuzzi, heated towel rack, in room refrigerator and CD player, heated mattress pad for the unexpectedly cool nights. Really nice.

We stayed 3 nights in the Enchanted Forest room, which was very spacious and private, being detached from the house above the garage. The bed was very comfortable and wonderfully quiet at night. The bed warmer was welcome after visiting nearby Volcanoes National Park, which can be windy and rainy. They think of every detail, with flashlights and umbrellas […] available (and helpful) to visit the park. Hawaiian music was playing softly on the bookshelf stereo when we checked in. Every morning Kathy had prepared papaya fruit boats that drew everyone to the table and inspired good conversation with other guests. Spent the weekend at this B&B with husband. Quiet, calm, inviting. Breakfast was nice but could have used some meat...very vegetarian affair. Fireplace was nice as well as the cozy slippers and terry-cloth bathrobe. Perfectly located in awesome Volcano so easy access to the park. Highly recommend.

For our first visit to Hawai'i, we chose to stay at this B&B in Volcano Village, at the edge of Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. Because of the size of the island, nothing is an insurmountable distance, but coming home to the cottage was a welcome respite from the tourist rush. I stayed 2 nights at BOC on a recent visit to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. I was just looking for a place to stay and did not expect to hang out here. The house was nice and clean and comfortable. The breakfast was nice and the innkeeper was pleasant. I would recommend it to a friend.

The location is fantastic if you want to visit Volcanoes National Park (and we recommend that everyone does.) Cathy was great and the breakfast she prepared was beautiful. If this is the kind of place you are looking for, it is as close to perfect as I've ever seen. The inn is clean and well appointed. The innkeeper is friendly and helpfull without being intrusive. Most importantly for us, it feels like the middle of nowhere and is 10 minutes from Volcano National Park. Go to relax, not to be pampered.

We stayed here three nights and absolutely loved it. The breakfast Kathy provided each morning was delicious and a great start to the day. The room was very comfortable and the hot tub was a great way to spend a few minutes relaxing at the end of long hiking days. Breakfast was great. Great place to stay if visiting Volvano Nathion Park. Bed was not the best, but did not have a problem sleeping though the night.

Volcano village is a lost village, nothing to do but with 2 good restaurants Thai & Italian Hotel is a wonderfull bed&breakfast, nice room, friendly staff, beautifull breakfast, very very good stay.

We were promptly met by our host upon arrival who explained a few things about the area. Then shown to our room which was clean, cosy and included a jacuzzi in the ensuite. We preferred to use the communal one on the front deck. This place is a gem. Only 2+ miles from the national park entrance. Situated in a quiet subdivision. Local building codes apparently allow only the foot-print of a structure tone cleared; all surrounding land is untouched to preserve the rainforest. Gary, the […] jack-of-all trades ex-Marine runs 2 properties for the owner, who handles back-office activities remotely. Gary takes pride in his work, part concierge, housekeeper, cook, and handyman. We had a wonderful stay at the Bamboo Orchid. We found the road for it on the first try. You gotta watch the signs, the road sneaks up on you quick. We used the cottage as a base of operations for our exploration of the island. Breakfast was always served right on time. We either had papaya boats or fresh hot waffles. There was coffee, juice, oatmeal, […] bagels, fruit, homemade muffins, cheese, and hard boiled eggs. If that doesn't get you ready for the day, I don't know what will. The room was clean and neat. We got fresh towels on a regular basis. The bathroom was clean. They use a cistern system to collect rain water and us it for the house hold water. You need to let the hot water warm up before you can hop in the shower. Most people I'm sure can wait the extra 30 seconds to warm up the water. The area around the cottage is rain forest. It WILL rain. It would rain a bit in the morning and then clear up or rain at night. Please follow the rules of the inn and keep your shoes by the front door or outside. The staff is just Gary and Noelle. The less they need to clean, the more time they have for the requests of the guests. Gary was a fountain of information and very helpful. Ask him about elephants, he has some fun stories. We would like to go back to the big Island again and I'm sure we'll stay at the Bamboo Cottage again. A very relaxing place in the middle of the rain forest. The location is very close to Volcano national park, this is the perfect place if you like hiking and nature. Gary's papaya boats will be missed!

Bamboo Orchid is een Bed & Breakfast. Echter het ontbijt is matig en weinig afwisselend. Ligging t.o.v. het Volcano National Park is perfect. De kamer is prima en goed uitgerust. Wij verbleven er twee nachten en merkten dat bed niet wordt opgemaakt en handdoeken niet werden verwisseld. Gastvrouw is erg vriendelijk maar niet erg actief!

Die ruhige und idyllisch gelegene Unterkunft befindet sich ideal nahe des Nationalparkes und kann als Abwechslung zu den Resorts nur empfohlen werden. Insbesondere die umkomplizierte Umgangsformen sowie der Kontakt zu anderen Reisenden, welchen man beim gemeinsamen Frühstück (liebevoll zubereitet) pflegen kann hat uns sehr gefallen.

鳥の声しか聞こえない静かな立地。ボルケノやボルケノ村へのアクセスも良く一度は泊りたい。 しかしながら、お湯のパワーはいまひとつで、シャワーと湯船の貯水を同時に行うとどちらかが水になってしまう。 So queit environment without birds singing,Good access both to Volcano and volcano village. This B&B is one of the greatest hotel people wish to stay in. However, that's the only bad point that hot water flow is low power.

Allein die günstige Lage des Hauses und die Freundlichkeit der Besitzerin lassen über die mangelnde Größe des Zimmers und die Probleme mit der Warmwasseraufbereitung hinwegsehen. Das großzügige Frühstück begeisterte uns und gab Kraft für Wanderungen im Nationalpark.

Wir hatten das Zimmer "Wild Ginger", welches in Wirklichkeit sogar besser ist, als es auf manchen Fotos aussieht. Die Betten haben elekt. Heizungen und das Zimmer einen Gaskamin. Wenn man von der warmen Küste in die kühlen Berge kommt, ist dies auch von guten Nutzen. Wir waren die einzigen Gäste im Haus. Zur weiteren Belustigung hat der Hundewelpe des […] Hauses beigetragen.
