"The Downtown Hotel the most centrally located"
After reading several reviews that sent mixed signals my Wife and I decided to take a chance and checked in at The Downtown Hotel for three days March 18 to 20, 2012. Our stay was characterized by the Hotel's close proximity to all that was required for a fulfilled vacation. (Our visit to the Fond-Doux Plantation.The Botanical Gardens and Diamond Waterfall, […] Soufriere Drive-in Volcano and Sulphur Spring where you can get a medicinal bath. Our climb of the Pitons and Dining at the restaurant that served local dishes),. Buses and Land Taxi to these sites were easily accessible. The water taxi for our trip to Anse Chastane was available at the harbour which is also located about fifty yards from the hotel. The hotel staff were very polite and hospitable. They possess a wealth of knowledge of the island which they share with the guests readily. We have no regrets choosing The Downtown Hotel for our vacation and would certainly recommend it to anyone wanting to have an enjoyable stay. Lesa meira
If you want a resort hotel around Soufriere you have plenty of options. If you want to stay in the town centre, this is the choice. Located on the upper floors of a small and very local shopping mall right at the town square, it's right in the middle of the town's everyday life. Microbuses to Vieux Fort and Castries, taxis, watertaxis and tours all […] have their center just around the corner. Restaurants, shops, post office, tourist information, even the police are just a few steps away. Everything but a beach. The nearest, Hummingbird Beach, is maybe 500 meters away, an easy walk. The rooms are spacious and well-kept, clean and with nice balconies. But they are located on the third floor and I didn't notice any elevator, so that might be a problem for some (even for me the day after I climbed the Gros Piton...). Another improvement would be serving breakfast. There are a few choices in the restaurants nearby, but it wold obviously have been easier to get som tea and toast in the hotel. Lesa meira
"For those willing to go out of the beaten paths"
The Downtown hotel is perfect for those who are ready for an adventure. It is not the typical resort by the beach where the only people around are other tourists. On the contrary, it is smack in the middle of Soufrières, a small coastal village. The roosters will make you rise early and rush down to buy local fruits and fish from the villagers, fishermen […] and farmers, who set up their stands on the sidewalk. Get to know them, it is the best way to learn about the island. Tons of day trips are accessible from the hotel: you can take a water-taxi to go hike up the Pitons, walk to Anse Chastenet, visit the botanical gardens or the surrounding cocoa estates. There is so much to do that you will probably only be in your room to sleep! The rooms are spacious, with AC and a beautiful view on the village or the ocean. Keep an open mind, and enjoy!!! "It is what it is"
It's downtown!! Right in the middle of the hustle and hustlers. We were hustled the second we parked with people opening our doors, helping with bags etc. The hustlers get your name and bug you your whole stay. Still not a bad hotel. I'd find something a little moreoff the beaten path, but you'll pay more.

We werent expecting a fantastic hotel based upon the price, however even so, you must be aware of the disadvantages of going here as opposed to the alternatives in the area which are not in the 'downtown' area. This hotel is defintely not for everyone because of its location. The hotel itself was acceptable, but as soon as you come down the steps leading […] up to the hotel, you are constantly followed and approached by a number of people who hang around outside who want your money. For some this can be intimidating, or even irritating. As long as you book the hotel with this in mind, then you will know what to expect. Lesa meira
"Great value for those looking to stay out of the resorts"
The rooms facing the water have beautiful views of the Petit Piton. For the price, you can't go wrong. Those looking for an inexpensive hotel and a cultural experience with the local residents of Soufriere, this is the place. The staff was very attentive and helpful. The only drawback I could pick out was that wasn't ice available. But a minor detail […] in the big picture. However, for those not feeling adventureous, I would recommend staying at one of the inclusive resorts. Once you walk out of this hotel, you can tell you are defninitely not in America anymore. Bon rapport qualité prix. Problème d'air conditionné la première nuit qui a été solutionné par la suite. Prendre les chambres avec vue sur les pitons plus au calme.

Problèmes d'eau et de climatisation, pas de rideaux occultants, quartier bruyant. Attendez vous à être harcelés dès la sortie de l'hôtel. Ne vous attendez pas à plus que le tarif ne peut le suggérer.
je n'ai qu'une chose à dire ..... A EVITER !!!
hotel vétuste, très bruyant, aucune restauration, nous nous sommes retrouvé plusieurs jours sans eau, avec un climat d'insécurité pendant tout le séjour. nous avons réservé une suite royale et nous nous sommes aperçus qu'il n'y avait aucune différence avec les autres chambres
"hotel downtown Souffriere"
hotel très bien situé si on veut visiter l'ile par les mini-bus de lignes : station de bus à 50 mètres! et dans le centre de la ville (resto et magasins proches) Hôtel un peu vétuste et matelas à changer : lumbagos assurés!!!
