Innsbruck Lodge – Mammoth Lakes

Stayed here for 3 nights. Easy 5 minute walk to the village and gondola. The staff was very friendly, and our room was clean and comfortable. These are honest folks, and the cost is reasonable. I recommend this lodge!

The staff was very friendly. We loved the sauna. The room was small but cute. The inn had a feel similar to a B&B without the breakfast. The inn was close enough to walk to the Village Gondola and restaurants. The walls were extremely thin. Our kids were cracking up when they heard the neighbors mattress springs. Great location 5 mins walk to the gondola in the village & my boys had no trouble marching down every day in full snow gear. It's an older hotel and by that I mean the kids where amazed to see a VCR in the room, they have never seen one before! This is not your typical lodging experience, it felt like being at your grandparents house. We stayed over the Thanksgiving weekend, and there was homemade pumpkin pie and a fresh pot of coffee in the lobby for the guests (this was at ten at night!). The hotel staff is very knowledgeable and very friendly and was able to give us tons of information on nearby sight seeing areas. There was a couple downsides to the hotel: the rooms were small (which is fine with us, we were only staying over night) with no closet in our room, however it did have a fridge and a microwave. The other downside was the hot tub room wasn't well ventilated and the ceilings didn't look too hot. Other than that, we had an amazing experience and will definitely have to come back, although next time we'll probably go for the larger room with the kitchenette. Lesa meira

The bed was comfortable and the heater worked well. There was plenty of hot water but the bathroom was not heated. The room had a full stove, refrigerator and microwave with sink. The staff was very friendly and helpful: used their computer to print my flight's boarding pass. While the bathroom was not heated, it was not uncomfortable.

I love that this is a hotel that is somewhere between a bed n breakfast and a hyatt. For less than half the cost of The Village, this was a great bargain. Right next to The Village and was close to everything. The owner is very friendly. It's small and quaint and it truly felt like a home away from home. We will be back.

Nice staff, nice dog. Only complaint was that there was no temperature control for our room and it was warmer than we liked. We opened the doorwall for a while but were unwilling to leave it open all night since there was no screen to keep out unwanted insects or larger critters.

the down side for us was that we were in a ground floor room and we could hear every move the couple in the room above us made, ie tv noise, opening and closing of patio doors until 11.00pm. we were awakened at 5.00am in the morning, as they were walking around their room, causing the floorboards to creak. there were notices in the room stating quiet […] time was between 10.00pm and 7.00am. if these rules were nt adhered to a fine of $250.00 would be imposed. also if you did not wash your cups a fine of $50 would be imposed. The above rules did not matter to us, as we like quiet places, but this hotel is not for the party animals. Lesa meira

The room was spacious and clean. We liked the kitchen. The floor made some noise when we walk, but not really bad. The hotel was a street away from the main street, so very quiet. We thought it was a good deal and want to return for the next season.

This was a last minute getaway, something big was going on in Mammoth, so most of the hotel/motels were booked. This was the only place I could find with a King bed, but the pics were sort of outdated. The room was much nicer than I expected. The bed was soooo comfortable. This is a small hotel just off the main street of Mammoth. The only down side was there is no air conditioning although the hotel did provide room fans which made the stay much more comfortable. We were there in August just when a heat wave struck so the fan came in handy. There is a shared balcony off of the/some rooms. Small cute and quaint, but bed very uncomfortable, older and sunken, pillows very uncomfortable also, over stuffed with batting! shower old and sprayed everywhere, but temp was good. Nice little place close to centre of Mammoth Lakes. Room was clean and ok for such a small place. Liked the comfy feel of the building and the somewhat old fashioned decor. Location was good with easy stroll to local shops and restaurants.

This hotel had what I value most highly when away from home: cleanliness and quiet. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable, had a kitchenette with fridge, stove, microwave, toaster, some basic utensils and dishes. You could […] probably cook your lunch and dinner in your room if you wanted to, but there are many dining choices in town for all budgets. The hotel is situated off the main track, but dining is within walking distance 5-10 min. A couple of quick turns will lead you to the road to Devil's Postpile National Park, or the Scenic Loop Road that will get you back to 395 without having to go through town again. Room was nice only problem was it was a hot day and no A/C , had to leave bathroom window open all night to try and cool room down, It had large sliding door to communal balcony so had to close this for security when we went to bed. The owners were friendly, the building is old but maintained and has 3 levels, all inside stairs. For example, our room required 4 landings and 22 stairs to get to the 'basement' rooms. The basement stairs were […] very steep. The room seemed clean, was on the small side w/king bed, mattress was comfortable, with TV/Microwave/small refrig/coffee maker. No screens on the one sliding door in our room or other windows that I saw, so no getting any fresh mountain air without bugs. No breakfast food in the lobby in the mornings either. A small room downstairs from the proprietors own residence (no lift) but it was clean and pleasantly furnished showing some of the proprietors own personal flair. We had a problem with a blocked toilet which was attended to promptly. A guest compendium with local restaurants and attractions would be useful.

The Innsbruck lodge is a great value for Mammoth. It is conveniently located near the newer Village Lodge and close to shops, restaurants and the gondola. We did not need to drive anywhere once we arrived everything was within walking distance. It is a small lodge and the staff was very friendly. I'd go back again.

Overall not the worst place to stay if you are desperate for a room in mammoth. The owners are nice and have great service. Jacuzzi is hot and working which was nice. The one thing I didnt like was that the owner got up late to plow his driveway the day after we had over a foot of snow. So I literally had to shovel a path out of his driveway to get […] my car out. I have awd but it got high centered. That was pretty lame as most people are up there to ski and want to get to the mtn when it opens. Also the showers had pretty low water pressure. it was like a drizzle was coming out. It met our needs for an overnight stopover. The room was tiny and the sound proofing between rooms is minimal. It was very clean but worn and dated. Pretty expensive for what it was and not even close to quality found in budget chains such as Comfort Inn and Marriott Courtyard.
