"Beautiful Hotel at the base of Machu Picchu"
My spouse and I stayed for two nights in July 2011. The hotel is stunning. The service iwas great for whatever we wanted. The price was quite reasonable compared to the more expensive hotel up the mountain to Machu Picchu. The buses to Machu Picchu stop right at the hotel and the hotel will purchase the tickets for you. "Sumaq- next closest hotel to Machu Picchu"
For the price Sumaq is the next best hotel in Aguas Calientes. Inkaterra was my favorite but its location was on the other side of town. Sumaq's location made it possible for one of the 3rd or 4th buses up to Machu Picchu to pick us up in the morning. Due to this service we were able to get our tickets stamped to go to Wyana Picchu, which they only […] give out 400 per day. The all inclusive meals at Sumaq are excellent but the drinks are not included, even water. Drinks are a bit pricey but the service is nice. Overall I would recommend this hotel if you want to be a little out of town on the edge of the river and would like to get up to Machu Picchu for sunrise. Lesa meira
"Wish I Stayed Two Nights"
Stayed at the Sumaq the night before seeing Machu Picchu. Would definitely recommend doing this and getting to MP as early as possible. The service was great - welcome beverage and snack upon arrival, breakfast and dinner was included in my rate which was great, they can reserve a spot on the bus to MP for you, and they'll bring your luggage to your […] departing train. Everyone very friendly. Wish I had stayed the night after MP as well to make use of the spa and relax some more. My room had a balcony overlooking the river which was nice and relaxing. Very comfy bed. Free drink at happy hour. Well worth the price! Was surprised to find that at still had to pay when I checked out b/c hotels.com had not charged my credit card - apparently they only do this for the "price match guarantee" hotels, which I hadn't realized - so that was a little confusing but not the hotel's fault. "Sumac Machu Picchu in Aguas Calientes"
Aguas Calientes has very few up-scale hotels. The Sumaq is one of them, and well worth the extra money. The hotel is lovely, and the staff are very attentive. Breakfast and dinner were both very good, with a wideselection. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice room with jacuzzi tub and balcony right on top of raging river...awesome! Included breakfast and dinner and the food was world-class. Not a cheap hotel but we were very happy to experience the Sumaq and Machu Picchu.

Es un hotel inserto en un paisaje privilegiado, tiene una vista increíble, las habitaciones son lindas y muy cómodas, el servicio del hotel muy bueno y si se decide comer, tienen unos platos exquisitos. Totalmente recomendable para el que quiera hacer de su estadía en Machu Picchu algo inolvidable.
"Un verdadero placer"
Desde el primer minuto todo fue un agrado y de gran calidad. Te reciben en la estación de trenes para llevar tu equipaje, luego en el Hotel con un delicioso jugo, y aclarando posibles dudas. El dormitorio excelente, la comida buenísima y variada, y el trato muy cordial. Altamente recomendable!!
