Hótelið er frábærlega staðsett í hjarta miðbæjarins og stendur við göngugötu þar sem mannlífið iðar, með verslunum og veitingastöðum. Þrátt fyrir það eru herbergin þannig staðsett að þegar inn á þau er komið heyrist lítill sem enginn hávaði frá götu. Herbergið var með skandinavísku yfirbragði, smekklegt, þægilegt og þrifalegt. Mikill kostur var að hafa kælingu í herberginu enda heitt í veðri (35-37°C). Þá var minibar á herberginu og ólíkt því sem maður á oft að venjast þá var verð á því sem þar var að finna mjög hófstillt. Þjónustan var mjög fín og starfsfólkið bæði hjálplegt og elskulegt. Aðstoðaði m.a. við að panta "Airport Shuttle Bus", benti á spennandi staði (og veitingastaði) og aðstoðaði við að finna þessa staði á korti. Það starfsfólk sem ég átti samskipti við talaði allt ágæta ensku, sem er ekki sjálfgefið í Búdapest (og enn síður þegar komið er út fyrir borgina). Get varla nefnt neitt neikvætt um þetta hótel en ef ég rembist við að reyna að tiltaka eitthvað þá hefði gjarnan mátt vera boðið upp á fleiri erlendar sjónvarpsstöðvar (var einungis BBC) ekki síst þar sem allt sjónvarpsefni í Ungverjalandi er talsett og því hefur maður ekki hugmynd um hvað verið er að tala um. Jafnframt hefði morgunmaturinn, sem var innifalinn, mátt vera meira spennandi. Brauð og þess háttar var frekar þurrt og eins og hálfstaðið en þessa reynslu hef ég reyndar frá mörgum öðrum hótelum í Evrópu og get því vart sagt að þetta sé stór mínus fyrir Promenade hótelið sérstaklega. Heilt yfir - mæli eindregið með hótelinu - frábærlega staðsett og "worth every penny". :-)

Friendly atmosphere. Good location, nice rooms, great bathrooms.

"Nice hotel with some drawbacks"
On arrival we were given a silver suite even though we had booked a gold. We were not told about it and only "discovered" it later in the day. To rectify this they gave us breakfast each morning which we had not paid for. The hotel advertises invididually controlled airconditioning, but the airconditioning unit for the whole hotel is not switched on. […] The temperatures were in the high 20's but even after repeated requests over 4 days they would not switch on the aircon. They did however provide us with a fan. The rooms however are enourmous and spotlessly clean. The hotel had a great feeling to it, however it is not in the heart of budapest, but on the hill in the castle. "What an experience"
My wife and I are Tour Conductors for group tours, and we came over a couple of days early to scout new cities. I took a flyer on this hotel based on all the reviews from multiple sources. Even then, I was somewhat skeptical because of the great deal I was getting on the rate. The place was as advertised and more. It truly is an all-suites boutique […] hotel, in the heart of the Castle District. The room had a large (for European standards) entry room, complete w/Baroque-style furnishings - quite elegant. It had a small kitchenette w/2-burner stovetop, a microwave, dishes and cookware, a mini-bar, and a complimentary bottle of wine. Wired internet was free, and if you don't have an ethernet cord, they will provide one. The bedroom was nice, the bedding was fine, and the bathroom was very nice. They still have a touch of the Europe of 20 years ago in that there was no shower door or curtain. The tub had a handheld showerhead that worked perfectly, you just need to think ahead a little. We only got to stay here one night, but we will ALWAYS come back. Lesa meira

Rooms, service, hotel, courtyard, location - couldn't be better. Don't bother with breakfast, it's overpriced and poor quality.
"St George Residence - Once in a lifetime"
This hotel is stellar. Staying there is like staying in a castle. The property has been a residence of one sort or another for centuries and when you see its current decor of marble, wooden antiques and gilding, you feel like you have taken a trip in a time machine. Our bronze apartment was so large that it had four separate rooms including a den and […] entertaining room. The room was immaculate always. The staff were all friendly and well versed in how to get around Budapest. The restaurant was excellent and one hidden delight is the inner courtyard which is perfect for breakfasts. The stone walls of the residence create an absolute stillness broken only by birds chattering. Nestled among other historic buildings in the Castle District, this is a once in a lifetime experience. "Great hotel in heart of old Buda"
Great apart-hotel with lots of character. Very well appointed rooms but the bedroom (bronze category) was not particularly roomy. Breakfast cold buffet not too impressive but hearty cooked breakfast. Easy access to Pest via the local buses and great views from the Fisherman's wharf just a minute's walk away. Hotel was quiet when we were there, and […] the inner courtyard is a great place to dine in the evening. Lesa meira
"Quiet but absolutely beautiful"
The hotel is in a quiet location in the Buda Castle area. Reception was 24 hours and always helpful. Rooms were quite stunning, large and beautifully decorated. Free Wi-Fi, good TV.....Kitchen...spot on.
"Terrific hotel"
The hotel has been recently refurbished and has elegant suites which are extremely spacious and comfortable. The bathrooms are also very large sized and unlike most European hotels, this was truly 5-star accommodation. It is a short walk to the castle and several historical spots. The Funicular is just a few hundred yards but we walked down to the bridge […] and across into Pest. The hotel staff were extremely gracious and accommodating. They made our stay very memorable and in terms of comfort, this is one of the best hotels we stayed in on our trip across Eastern Europe. The location is ideal. However, I recommend eating out in Pest where the food is great as opposed to the hotel restaurant, which although it serves decent food, cannot compare with the Goulash found elsewhere in the city. "Overwhelmed (for once)"
We were careful to check out the nearby competition in Budapest's beautiful Castle Hill district before choosing St Georges Residence. But you still have that expectation that the reality of the hotel you ultimately choose never quitelives up to the images (or the retouching).However I can honestly say we have never been so positively surprised by […] a hotel.The check in staff were really friendly.Then as you ascend the marble staircase you see what a wonderful restoration job has been done on this grande house.Our apartment was along an open-air corridor on the first floor that looks down onto a sundrenched, grass covered inner courtyard.The room was amazing. It must have been about 700 sqft and coming from Hong Kong, that's big! It had an open kitchen with every item thought of. The ceilings were high, it was basically a perfectly restored room from a palace, that was filled with the light and sound of the birds from the courtyard outside. Every comfort was considered, without a single compromise. Another thing that makes this 'hotel' special is it never feels like a hotel. It always feels like you're staying in someone's palacial home. For a place like this in other cities in Europe you would be paying more than double the price.When we go back to Budapest we would not be staying in any other hotel. Lesa meira

Lækker mad Pånær morgenmaden den var ikke et femstjernet hotel værdigt og så var der ikke rigtig noget varmat vand da vi skulle i bad om morgenen Men ellers totalt lækkert rent hotel Det var dejligt fredeligt og roligt og det er svært at tro at det ligger midt inde i en storby
"Fantastisk hotel - virkelig meget for pengene"
Det er et meget flot hotel med et helt utroligt hjælpsomt og venligt personale. Renligheden er er helt i top. Den nemmeste måde at komme til hotellet er: 1. Køb entursbilet i lufthavnens avisbutik, Relay. 2. Tag bus 200 til bus/Metro endestation mod Köbánya Kispest 3. Køb billet ved skur til 1 dag, 3 dage eller en uge. Betales kontant. 4. Tag blå […] Metro (M3) mod Üpest-Köspont 5. Skift Til Rød (M2) i Deák Ferec tér mod Déli pályaudvar. 6. Stå af i Moszkva t'er 7. Gå op af trapperne på pladsen 8. Tag Bus 16 eller 16A på modsatte side af gaden 9. Stå af på 2. busstop 10. Derfra er der ca 150 meter til hotellet Lesa meira
