We loved it
the stay was ok but I don't think it should cost as much as it did because of the location and the run down building beside it. The black guy that work there was very nice to us, he did everything he could to make our stay pleasant.
The hotel was convenient to the beach but the room was in bad shape. I was very disappointed. This hotel needs major renovations. Will not be staying again.

this place needs some updating.. rooms could have been little cleaner. stayed 2 nights here then 2 nights at the breaker for same price.. hands down the breaker was much nicer. i got there at 1015pm office closed had to go 1 mile away to another resort to get a key to get in.then next day shut my keys off till went to main office to then pay an additional […] 11.00 resort fee...stay further north. much nicer Lesa meira

Front desk was very courteous. I was suprised at how big the room was at the steep discount I bought it for... thanks to hotels.com additional 25% discount offer for a 2 night stay. Spacious... clean... spectacular view of the ocean... well worth the money.
"Labor Day Stay"
First of all, we would love to know why they call this Motel and "Resort", nothing further from the truth. Although the staff was friendly the hotel is in desperate need of improvement, the halls are dirty, the elevators are a mess, kids urinating in the halls, you name it. I would never come back there even if they pay me!.
had a good stay wit my son, fiance an her daughter. was spacious enough for 3 more people. it was oceanfront, housekeeping very curteous. check in an out was easy. parking was across street but wuold stay there again an will reccomend

The wall felt wet and the floor too. It had a really bad smell. Half of the time we had to leave the back door open so that the fresh air came in. Room service never mop our floor not even in the bathrrom where it wa most dirt floor.

"Docking at Jonathan Harbor"
I had a good stay at this hotel. The location is excellent as it is right on the beach and not far from the Myrtle Beach boardwalk. It has a unique pool that allows you to swim from the inside to the outside of the building. The room was clean and comfortable as 5 of us stayed there without annoying each other. Its not perfect and I did see an exterminator […] there during my stay but the problem wasn't in my room. Overall, I'd recommend it. Lesa meira

When booking a room with them you will want to ask for a room that has been updated. The rooms are individually owned and they can be on extreme ends of comfort and the furnishings being modern. The staff are very friendly and courteous.

"Could have been worse"
I like how we were on the beach. The parking was a pain - accross the street...no security..the room smelled HORRIBLE. My kid asked me to p/u air freshner. The bright side - the room was a very nice size with a full kitchen. The bed was horrible - and it seemed suspect. My kid would not sleep under the covers and would ONLY use their pillow. I took my kids for the week. The stay was amazing, all the hotel staff were very nice and helpful! The hotel is in a great location and the amenities were great! The kids had a ball in the pools. I would definitly come back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

was very dirty nothing like what was online. we checked out very next day and went somewhere else. i do not recommend this hotel for anyone.

we had a nice stay .bedding was old an stained but for the most part everything else wasnt bad .we were impressed with the kitchen and livingroom we had more than plenty room and felt we got more than our moneies worth we will go back again.

The hotel is good for the price we paid. The room was clean but dirty towels laid in the hallway one whole day. The parking is a real problem. We had to park across the street next to an alley. Our trailer was stolen the first night we were there for bike week. They really need cameras and lights in the parking lot.

This is the second year that we've been to this strip on Myrtle Beach but the first time we've been to Jonathan Harbor and we will definitely be back! After a few of the negative reviews I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. It is what it is - a two star motel and not a four star hotel it wasn't fancy but we loved our suite. I have four children and […] it can be difficult to find a motel that is accommodating to larger families, this is the best one we've found on Myrtle Beach. I loved having the full-size fridge. The bathroom was surprisingly clean. We had a lot of fun in the pool. I especially enjoyed the balcony. It was wonderful to sit outside and feel the ocean breeze - we only had a partial ocean view but we loved it. The hotel is right on the beach far enough away from the bigger hotels so that it wasn't too crowded. It was easy to check in and out. The staff we came in contact with were quite friendly. Plan to bring your own everything - I'd recommend you stop at the Food Lion or the Wal-Mart on your way in. We will definitely be back. Lesa meira

"Hard beds and unsafe parking"
The brouchure says you get a free sand pail when checking in, we did not. Parking was not onsite and was beside a run down hotel so it didn't feel safe to park there. The beds are hard and very small, two people could not fit in one bed and was disheartening since it was a romantic get away. Again, the beds were HARD and that is an understatement. The […] rooms are very outdated and had a foul smell to them. The location was good and the view was good but thats about all. There was no dead bolt on the door. Great access to the beach. The hotel is old and in need of renovation. I understand they have some renovated rooms, but we did not get one. Our room had a bad smell, the carpet needs replacing, need new sheets, room needs new paint and wallpaper and just needed a good thorough general cleaning. After we lysoled the room down, the smell was a little better. "Not the Best, But certainly not the worst..."
The staff here was very friendly and willing to help out with anything. Parking was a little bit of an issue. You have to unload in front of the hotel and park way across the street behind another hotel. Our room was nice and large. A lot bigger than expected. It did need some upgrading and maybe a little TLC. The full kitchen is located in a hallway […] between the bedroom and living room. There isn't much room to do anything in it. When I was taking a shower my water would go from hot to cold the entire time in there! The pool certainly leaves some thing to be desired. It was dirty looking and one of the two hot tubs wouldn't stay full. There is also a rotting puddle of water you have to walk through to get to the pool. Their drainage system doesn't work and all the water collects right in front of the door. If your spending most of your day by the ocean the pool won't be a problem. The price was nice but remember, you get what you pay for. This wasn't the worst I've been in but was far from the best. Lesa meira

There were 7 of use staying in this room and 3 of them were toddlers. It fit all of us nicely. The room was a good size we were not cramped. The room was clean. There could have been double the towels. The main thing I didn't like is the location it was not walking distance for most of the food and attractions and the parking. "Jonathan Harbour Hotel - a pleasant surprise"
We stayed at the Jonathan Harbour Hotel July 16-21, 2010. We needed a hotel with easy access to the Convention center. This is peak season and every place was so expensive. This hotel was more reasonable and tripadvisor had decent reviews. We had a side view suite. There is a lot to be desired at this hotel, but for the price, it was not bad at all., […] It does need updating. But, it was clean. The staff was very cordial and helpful. It was on the beach with pools at the hotel. Nice side balcony with view of the ocean. Nothing fancy, but very do-able. I would go there again. Lesa meira
Completely surprised. The price was perfect, the room was HUGE....you could fit 3 families if needed, and front staff was great. Plus it was right on the beach. I would recommend this to everyone!

I was surprised about how big the room was. After a booking at last minute I was not expecting much. But the room actually slept 8, so we had plenty of room. The only thing was that they did not offer towels at the pool.

The parking was across the street. The room needed some serious cleaning. The full size mattress was on a twin size platform and boxspring. The pool was small. The elevator was small. I would not stay again. The tub had cigarette marks on them. The room stunk.

For the money you can't beat it. I could not have stayed anywhere else that's ocean front for price we paid. At this price I did not expect much and I did not get much. The room overall was clean but had some pubic hair in the sink. Check in is at 3pm and they mean it, they would not let me check in even 15 minutes early. The internet access was supposed […] to be wireless in the rooms but that did not seem to work and no one at the desk knew what to do so I had to go to a special room and work. This room was very hot and stuffy as there were no AC vents but did have a small fan blowing air from the next door fitness room. The hotel is a much older hotel than we are use to staying in. The room was fairly clean, but everything was just old. When you don't have much money to spend, it is a good place to stay. The two room suite was very room in the living room area and had a sofa bed and a murphy bed.

The room was plenty big enough for the 2 of us. It actually slept about 8. We had plenty of towels. No fitted sheets but that wasn't a problem. The furniture was old but served its purpose and overall the room and hotel was pretty clean. Not alot of sand on the carpets.
