We love the location of this hotel and we stay there once or twice a year. The hotel is starting to show some wear, but the rooms are kept clean and it is pet friendly. Continental breakfast is provided and is lacking a bit in quality, but better than nothing if you want a quick bite before leaving. Clean, nice play to stay in Hamilton - with a pool! You do have to drive to restaurants, but everything is pretty close - it's a small town. Beautiful country!!

I love the view of the pond and mountains from this hotel. It's fun to have the room decorated with the Montana mountain look. I could do without the breakfast, very average. However, we will definitely stay here again.

I thought in general it met all of our needs, we just saw that the hallway carpeting is past it's useful life. Nice lobby but morning breakfast needs more fresh offerings vs canned fruit.

A very comfortable and quiet hotel. We only stayed one night and we will plan to stay longer next time. There is no restaurant at the hotel, but there is a good Sports Bar very close.

The staff were exceptional. All contacts were first class. The hotel is aging but is very well maintained. It was a very pleasant stay. Forest fires created heavy smoke outside so because of my lungs we had to leave a day early.

The entry door from the parking lot took forever to get in. They even warned us at the desk there was a problem with it. WELL THEN FIX IT!!! Beds were extremely soft, bad for sore backs. Should have served scrambled eggs on the buffet. People need protein for breakfast. Biscuits and paste for gravy does not cut it!! Non-Smoking rooms but the hallways […] were smokey. They must light up and walk in the halls. I paid by credit card trough Hotels.com and when at the motel I had to pay more money!! Very clean and friendly employees. Lesa meira

for the bathroom, which was nice and clean, my room wasn't particularly clean. It needed to be vacuumed. I had to plug in the bedside lamps as they had been unplugged. The pillows were rather lumpy and the bed overly soft, though I liked the rough pine headboard. The breakfast was okay. I couldn't have a waffle as someone had left part of their's stuck […] to the waffle maker. Staff was okay--not particularly polite. I was surprised that they never asked me how my stay was. . . . I have stayed at this hotel multiple times. The last time the room was not a clean as normal. Hair everywhere in the bathroom. Generally, I like this hotel. Good location, comfortable, pool is nice, pet friendly. I just hope this last time was a fluke and not becoming the norm.

This is a good, clean, new-ish lodge. The rooms were comfortable, everything worked. My only hesitation is that the breakfast is less than average. As other reviewers said, they should provide fresh fruit of some kind. Too many empty carbs. But the place is pleasant and very well maintained. It's like a chain, but has some charm. The motel was very nice, and we enjoyed the hiking path adjacent to the property. If I am back in Hamilton, I will definitely use this facility again.

I was under the impression that I was reserving a room with a jacuzzi tub (in the room). This was not the case; it was a standard tub in the room. The beds were quite comfortable, but the walls are paper thin. The neighboring room's alarm clock woke me up well before mine was set to go off, and they proceeded to have what I perceived to be a normal […] volume conversation, of which I could make out every word and also kept me awake. There were a few pubic hairs in the bathtub; the hotel was full when I stayed, so it could be that they were on a short timeline to get all the rooms clean. However, I'd rather not have someone else's pubic hair in my bath water. I didn't utilize the hot tub or pool, but they were open 24 hours, which I think is fantastic. When I checked in, there was no one at the front desk so I rang the bell (as instructed on the sign). Immediately after I rang the bell, I heard a woman's voice say "Calgon take her away" proceeded by laughter. I then noticed the camera and guessed that they were probably talking about me. I understand if they don't like their jobs, but this is not something a customer wants to hear, obviously. All in all, it was okay. I'd probably stay somewhere else next time just to see if there's something better, but it's a small town, so there aren't a lot of options. I feel the thinness of the walls was the worst part and the pool/hot tub being open 24 hours and comfort of the beds was probably the best part. Lesa meira

My friend and I while on a recent motorcycle trip were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the BItteroot Inn. It was set back from the hwy that runs through town and sits by itself except for the restaurant across the parking lot (very quiet and no traffic noise). The staff was very friendly and allowed us to park our bikes under the front awning. […] This allowed a piece of mind on the bikes safety from wandering hands. Wasn't worried about them seeing some weather after our 2k mi trip through Yellowstone. The staff were very helpful in suggesting a good pizza place for dinner as well as the nearest gas station on our way out. The pool and hot tub were very clean and the pool is heated so it was nice to take a lap or two without that initial shock of cold water. I really enjoyed our stay and would definetely stay there again as well as recommend it to anyone. Lesa meira

This hotel is clean with decent service. Location is great resteraunt next. Door and a liquor store. They let us park. Our cycles under the Awning for safety and to. Keep them dry. Thanks

Pet friendly, clean, well-kept, pool/hottub, breakfast, and decent staff are a plus. The location is excellent! Right next to city park which follows the river. Also, food is easily accessible from fast food to a quality restraunt next door. Easily the best chain hotel in Hamilton and surrounding area.

Very quiet over the Christmas weekend. Utilized the hot tub and the sauna. Made suggestions for adding rocks to the sauna heater, repairing the bench and adding a guard rail around the grate over the heater. These suggestions were promptly noted and relayed to management. I will check results on my future stay.

The pople at the Bitterroot are friendly and welcoming, even to their four-legged guests. For someone traveling with dog, it is a perfect place to stay since it adjoins an open space and is a great place for a nature walk. The Edge restaurant is directly across the parking lot, which was very convenient. We enjoyed the lobby with the fireplace and easy […] chairs which allowed us to spend some time out of our room and have a comfortable place to read and hang out. Since we were there for a week visiting family, this was a nice feature. The public areas are very attractive and one could tell that a great deal of care had been taken to docorate for the fall season and create an appealing atmosphre. Breakfast was adequate, the muffins and rolls tasty and the staff conscientious about making sure you had what you needed. We have stayed at the Bitterroot previous to this visit and will stay there again on our return trip to Hamilton in the spring. Lesa meira
