Alta Apartments – Queenstown

It had to be the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in - do you think they would notice if I slipped bed into my luggage! Clean rooms, comfortable, so warm & loved the heated floor in bathroom. I would get up in the morning, come upstairs to loungeroom to view the beautiful Lake Wakatipu. Disappointing: whilst I am sure that the main apartments are very nice the studio where we were staying seemed very much like an after thought. The room was dark and was very noisy when the guests in the suite above moved around and also when they used their washing appliances.

We booked the 1 bed studio apartment. Our overall impression was of a meanness of service. We were there 3 days and there was no room maintenance - this was not made clear on the website and everywhere else we stayed (motels and hotels) had daily service, so we were expecting it. There were 4 teabags provided for the 3 days; no kitchen facilities - […] we ate our cereal from the teacups; nothing so basic as a toaster, far less a microwave. The wall TV was positioned facing a blank wall and to view it from either the sitting area or the bed required a neck twist and crane, and a telescope. A swivel support for the TV does not seem too extravagant. And we were instructed to empty our rubbish or be charged $25. The bedcovers on the admittedly king size bed reached just to the edge of the mattress, no further, so did not adequately cover 3 dimensional bodies in the bed. All these details added up to our underwhelmed experience. That said, the experience for the upstairs multibedroomed apartments booked for a week or so could be quite different - but avoid the 1 bed studio apartments if you are looking for the equivalent of a motel. This apartment was great for my family's needs. The location was a little bit far from downtown with a big uphill on the way back, especially with 19 month old twins, but otherwise the apartment is great. We used it as a base for some day trips to nearby towns. It has a great view of the lake. The price was right for a studio here, but just be aware that it is an apartment with no maid service. The room was small, but clean, and the furnishings were fairly new. It was a ground floor apartment with no views of the lake, and there are no common areas where you can get a view. There is a space outside of the room where you can cook if you have […] your own stove. Basically is was a reasonably-priced place to sleep for a few days. Lesa meira

We stayed in room 6, a 2 bedroom 1500 sq ft, great apt. Heated bathroom floor, full kitchen, great view. The walk to town is a little far, up and down hill, but it will sober you up after hitting the pubs. Our apt had it's own garage and laundry room. The studios look like dungeons, so avoid them and spend the extra money.

We had a fantastic experience at Alta. It was by far the best place we stayed in NZ, with stunning views of the mountains and lake and a beautiful balcony to enjoy our breakfast on. Highly recommend this luxury apartment. It had all the must haves. Breathtaking view, large living area with fireplace, well equipped kitchen, heated bathroom floor and close to and within walking distance to the shops and restaurants.

The appartment was great the view was beaut you simply wanted to sit and look on the balcony. It just needed a fan for the warm nights.

Clean, comfortable, and close to downtown Queenstown. Nice living area for the family to spend time together, with a pretty view of the lake.

A stunning view on the 3rd floor with a nice gas fire in the living area. A gas kitchen stove with generous amount of cooking utensils and dishes to host a good party. Heated tiles in the bathroom is definitely a bonus and everything seemed brand new and very well maintained. The location is far enough to have peace and tranquillity, but not too far […] from the heart of the town centre with all the action. Très bel Hôtel. On parle "français" à la réception !!!! Situé à environ 10 minutes de marche du centre ville. Belle vue sur le lac. Appartement très confortable. Sympa d'avoir la cheminée allumée à notre arrivée.

クィーンズタウンの中心街からはちょっと離れますが、徒歩圏内、閑静な住宅街にあり、喧騒もなく、新しいアパートメントで、清潔。設備も充実してて、バスルームに床暖房が備わっているのはびっくりしました。３ベッドルームで3階建て、最上階がリビングになっており、ワカティプ湖が一望できました。料金的にもお薦めできるアパートメントスタイルのホテルです。
