Ég og konan erum hlauparar og ferðumst varla án þess að hlaup komi þar við sögu. Nú var komið að því að hlaupa í Bristol, en hvernig átti að komast þangað og hvar átti að búa. Við vorum svo heppin að uppgötva vefsíðuna Hotels.com og þar fundum við hótel nálæt þeim stað sem upphaf og endir hlaupsins virtist vera og á verðlagi sem okkur fannst eðlilegt. Við pöntuðum síðan hótelið í gegnum Hotels.com og stóðst allt í sambandi við það, í raun þekkum við ekki til Hotels.com en spurðumst lítillega fyrir um það hjá hótelum hérna heima og virtust þeir ekki þekkja það nema af góðu. Við flugum til Heathrow, tókum lest frá Heathrow til Paddington stöðvarinnar í London, og þaðan tókum við lest til Bristol. Ferðin frá flugvellinum til Bristols tók um fjórar klukkustundir, en meðan við vorum í Bristol uppgötvuðum við að það er bæði fljótara, þægilegra og ódýrara að taka rútubíl (bus) beint á milli Bristol og Heathrow flugvallarins. En nú vorum við komin til járnbrautarstöðvarinnar í Bristol, þaðan var um 15 mínútna gangur á hótelið. Hótelið kom okkur skemmtilega á óvart, stafsfólkið þægilegt, og staðsetningin svo að segja fullkomin hvað okkur hlauparana varðaði því startið í hlaupinu og endamarkið voru svo að segja umhverfis hótelið í 100 metra fjarlægð. Hlaupara leggja mikið uppúr staðsetningu frá starti og endamarki svo það gat ekki verið betra. Hlauparar leggja líka mikið uppúr að sturtuaðstaða sé góð á herbergjunum, en það var mjög góð sturtuaðstaða á Ibis Bristol Centre. Morgunmatur var ekki innifalin, þótti okkur það kostur, en það var hægt að fá góðan morgunmat á hótelinu ef maður vildi á sanngjörnu verði að því okkur fannst, líka var hægt að fá hádegis og kvöldmat þarna, svo var líka hægt að sitja þarna niðri á kvöldin með bjór eða kaffi ef maður vildi. Í nágreninu og miðbænum sem er í um 10 til 30 mínútna göngufjarlægð er líka mikið úrval af kaffistöðum og veitingastöðum. Á herberginu var aðstaða til að hita sér vatn og fá sér té eða kaffi og líkaði okkur það. Það má því

"Central Location"
For a budget traveller this hotel ticks all the boxes. The room was small but comfortable, clean and serviced despite only a two night stay. Our room was looking out over the park, river and Bath Abbey which was a nice surprise. Breakfast was continental style with the option to buy a cooked breakfast. As far as location goes it couldn't be better. […] We were two minutes away from the Abbey, the Roman Baths and the Thermae Spa as well as the pick up points for the sight seeing bus tours. The only negative was the lack of parking but for a City Centre hotel this is expected. The pay and display car park is only a couple of minutes walk away and next to the police station so you know your car is safe! The bus and train stations are not far either. "Never again for me."
Hotel was located in the city center and a stones throw from the most visited tourist attractions. But the hotel itself was poorly ran. Some of the hotel staff didn't know their own breakfast times causing us issues. There was an overbearing stench of bleach in the ensuite bathroom, which after 24 hours turned into a breath removing stench of raw sewage […] coming from the shower drain. It was so repulsive we had to keep the windows open in zero digit temperatures. NOT GOOD. There is no parking and the hotel directed us to a public car park behind the hotel. While on holiday we had to set the alarm clock to run and feed the parking meter. The first morning I got there at 7:15am and had already received a parking ticket, the next morning I was out early to make sure I covered myself and the traffic warden was sniffing around by the time I left. Stay on your toes if you park in this car park because the traffic wardens are on it and you cannot pay for the next day in advance. The hotel restaurant (The Lambretta Bar) was closed but they still advertised food and even put the menu out on the pavement each morning. One staff member told my wife that we couldn't order a full meal but we could order bar snacks from the Lambretta Bar, another staff member told me there was no food at all. This coupled with seeing the full menu being put out in the morning confused us. We had to go into the Lambretta Bar and ask for clarification, we were told that all menus were off and there was no food at all. They also said the hotel should have told us this. HA HA. The bedroom was tiny, also, be prepared to climb stairs. All in all it was a pretty poor hotel experience, but we went to see Bath and Bath we saw. We had a great time and only spent a few days in the hotel so it didn't ruin our stay. I would have gave them a great review if the room rate was half of what it is. Lesa meira
"the parade lovely staff"
we enjoyed our stay.Such a warm welcome,helpful,freindly,clean,brllient location,especially if traveling by coach or train. breakfast was lovely a good choice of fresh foods,pleasant staff able to leave luggage there,un til later in the day,which was good,gave us more time to look around on day of departure.We would use it again
The small double room is very small and quality doesn't corresponce to price. No internet available is not good.

The Parade Park is extremely central for the shops and sight seeing attractions in the beautiful City of Bath. However, the family room was a little pricey in relation to the quality of the accommodation. The bathroom needs some serious repair work. The shower managed to soak the whole of the bathroom floor, and there is long term evidence of the damage […] the excessive water spray has caused. Beds were comfy and staff were very friendly. "Great for couple in downtown Bath"
My wife and I stayed for two nights and loved it. It was the best price we found while making reservations only 2 weeks in advance and the location was amazing. From our window we could see the abbey, the downtown gardens, and the rugby field. We were within 5 minutes walk of the spas, Roman Baths and the shopping districts. The staff was super friendly […] and the room came with food discounts to the Lambrattas Bar next door (pleasant surprise). Our room was en suite with a double sized bed and was plenty comfortable. If we are ever in Bath again the Parade Park will be the first place I look for a reservation. Lesa meira

"The Parade Park hotel"
For location the Hotel was great, just on the river and a short stroll to the abbey and surrounding areas. We paid for a small Double as we were only at the hotel for 1 night, but it was indeed Small. a small double bed and a side board, thats all could fit in the room. With a small ensuite, with the shower hot and cold symbols were the wrong way around […] . We were unaware at the time of booking that there was a bar attached to the hotel, as we arrived on a thursday night, it was also student night. the room we had was at the front, right above the roudy crowd of student below, the noise went on until gone 12.30 am. not the ideal hotel for a quiet weekend away. On the other hand the evening reception staff were very friendly, and efficient in booking us in, as we arrived at 10pm. and also the breakfast staff were friendly and courteous. All in all I probably wouldn't stay at the hotel again as I think it was overpriced for it's facilities, and only priced on the location. Lesa meira
"Good on a budget"
The hotel is simple and more like a upmarket hostel with your own rooms. Shower was a tempermental on getting hot water. Breakfast is simple - toast, yoghurt, cold ham and cheese. Location however is brilliant and super convenient to the main sights of Bath. Good on a budget
"You get what yoy pay for.."
Some prices are too good to be true- and that is the case with the Parade Park. If I were traveling alone, I feel that the hotel could've suited my needs just fine, but for the two of us it was woefully inadequate, all because there were only 2 shared bathrooms/ showers for several rooms, on a different floor, one of which was pretty dirty, leaving […] in essence 1 1/2 funtional bathroomsfor 20-30 something guests. Essentially this hotel felt like a hostel with semiprivate rooms! If you are reading this and feel that this is an acceptable tradeoff for the cost, you will be rewarded with an exceptional location a short walk away from the Roman Baths and the Bath Abby, shopping, dining, etc. If this sounds like a deal breaker, take a deep breath, reach into the wallet and for the sake of marital harmony shill out the extra $100 to stay at another nearby hotel with better amenities. 部屋もかわいらしく眺めも良いです。が、古い建物の為か、水周りの設備が古っぽく、トイレが流しにくく苦労しました。 また、バーが併設されているため部屋によっては人の声が夜気になるかも。田舎ながら前の通りは結構車が通ります。 朝食付きでしたが、種類は少なめ。ゆで卵、フルーツ缶のフルーツ、市販のハム、チーズ、ヨーグルト、シリアル程度です。ロンドン市内のMICホテルさんの方が良い朝食が出ました。 このお値段なら近くの別の高級ホテルのが良いかも？
"Central beliggenhed og hyggeligt værelse"
Hotellet ligger perfekt midt i Bath, og man kan gå rundt til alting. Vi fik et rigtig hyggeligt værelse på 3. sal med god udsigt over byen. Morgenmaden var ok - ikke noget ekstra ordinært - men som vi forventede. Fin service og flink personale. Hotellet ligger oven på en bar, hvor der ofte er en vældig fest. Det var dog ikke noget, vi på nogen måde […] blev forstyrret af. Muligvis er hotellet lidt dyrt i forhold til standarden, men det er vist niveauet i England. Hotellet kan anbefales. Lesa meira
"Ekstrem støjende hotel"
Personalet var flinke. Der ligger en bar ved siden af hotellet, hvilket betyder støj det meste af natten i weekenden. Der var et støjende selskab på hotellet som de ikke kunne få ro på, det holdt os vågen første nat. I det værelse hvor vi boede kunne folk kigge direkte ind fra gaden, hvilket betød at vi måtte have gardinerne trukket for konstant. Det […] var umuligt at regulere varmen i bruseren. På værelset var der en meget ubehagelig lugt. Personalet havde desværre ikke mulighed for at give os et andet værelse. I forhold til prisen levede det slet ikke op til mine forventninger. "Et hotell for de som liker nattklubb i helgene!"
Hotellet ligger meget sentralt og med en nydelige park rett over gaten.Rommene er store(vi prøvde to forskjellige) og lyse. Badet var ok. Reine håndduker hver dag. Vår første natt var på fremsiden og rett over inngang til nattklubben og puben. Ikke noe for en som vil sove og utrette andre ting enn å ta del i nattelivet. Vi fikk byttet til nytt og stille […] rom, men i underetasjen. Det var greit og stille å være der og personalet var meget velvillig til å hjelpe oss slik at vi fikk det vi ønsket oss. God service.
