"Pleasurable experience"
Staff were very friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to a higher floor so that we could have a better view. Bed was so comfortable I could have stayed there and slept for 24 hrs, but we had to leave! Bathroom had a bath which was very welcome when most accommodation has very pokey bathrooms. This hotel was a pleasant surprise, the room was great, quiet, and modern. Loved it and I will be staying at Apex hotels more often. A couple of observations, anyone with bulky luggage arriving by train may not want to follow the walking directions to the hotel provided on their website, it involves going up and down a couple of flights of stairs. "STAY HERE!"
Our bags were lost when we landed in Edinburgh and as soon as we got to the hotel and told them, one of the receptionists called the airline immediately and got on the case. When we got to our room, I didn't like it because I prefer rooms facing the street rather than the interior. I called and the room was switched immediately, we didn't have to go […] back to reception, we were just told to meet someone on the floor with the new room. The place was clean, and well maintained. LINDA, the concierge was AMAZING! She had a wealth of information and she was genuinely interested in us having a good experience. She gave us plenty of pointers and information places to visit. We had a wonderful stay at the Apex Waterloo. The location is absolutely perfect- about 3 minutes away from North Bridge straight across to the Royal Mile. This hotel was excellent, although we did not use the spa facilities or the restaurant. The prices listed for breakfast seemed expensive, but there are plenty of nice eateries nearby, more reasonably priced. Car parking is not easy, particularly on a Saturday night, onstreet bays were full. Drop-off and pick-up also tricky, we had to double park while […] we unloaded luggage, before finding a car park in the vicinity, a ten minute walk from hotel. Ask advice of the hotel on booking, they have a reduced rate with a car park in the area, which we were unaware of. Very clean, comfortable, well appointed hotel, with pleasant, helpful staff. "Close to the main attractions in the city centre"
We've stayed here before and found the hotel to be excellent. As before we found the staff to be friendly and helpful and the double room was clean and spacious. The hotel is just a five minute walk from the train station, and our main reason for staying, the Edinburgh Playhouse. We had a lovely time at the Apex Waterloo Place Hotel. The location was excellent, right in the centre of Edinburgh, only a short walk to the shops, galleries, castle and Arthurs Seat! The room was very nice, luxurious bathroom, big TV, complimentary refreshments. We used the gym, spa, pool and sauna - all of which were perfect. "Great room, shame about the smell!"
We had a superior room but when we arrived it was stiflingly hot. When we turned down the heating ( it had been set at 27 degrees) we noticed a horrendous damp smell throughout the room and bathroom. As we were only saying one night and were going out for the night we didn't bother to ask for a move. The room (apart from the smell) was huge,with an […] equally huge bathroom - the walk in shower alone would take a football team! The expresso coffee was very good. The bar area was very nice but can't comment on breakfast as we declined the offer - £10 each is a bit steep even in Edinburgh. "Highly recommended!"
We stayed at the Apex Waterloo hotel for Hogmanay and everything was spectacular. The hotel was very sleek and modern and the service was unbelievable. Everyone on the staff was very friendly and helpful! We actually arrived early and early check in was not an issue. It was very easy to walk to from the Waverley train station and all other popular attractions […] (prince street, royal mile, calton hill, castle, arthur's seat, etc.). The hotel is very close to everything but noise is not an issue because it is right out of the hustle and bustle of the center of the city. Even during Hogmanay (the New Year's celebration/one of the busiest times of the year) we didn't experience any problems with noise. To top it all off the bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable. "Nice hotel for Waverley travellers"
We chose this hotel because it's close to Waverley and Princes Street and has a pool, much appreciated after a long day's travel with my eight-year-old. I could tell right away that the hotel catered more to adults than kids, but both the morning and evening staff went out of their way to be kind to my son, so no problem there. Our room was very comfortable […] and modern, with lots of wardrobe space, firm bed with nice pillows, an enormous tv and walk-in shower (the sleek shower head was a bit small for my liking, a minor complaint). Skipped the restaurant and headed straight for the pool, which is by the spa and gym, accessed through the shower rooms. The pool is all atmosphere, dimly lit with piped-in (low-volume) music, but it worked for us. Then to bed, very quiet, and the 6:30 wake-up call was right on time. A short but enjoyable stay! "A wonderful weekend in Edinburgh"
We spent a long weekend in Edinburgh, checking in Thursday night and checking out Sunday. From the moment we arrived at the hotel, we knew we'd chosen the right place. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. The whole experience even finding our room just screamed quality - the décor, the atmosphere, it all left a great impression, a nice balance […] between quality/class and a modern & contemporary feel. The room was perfect; the bed was great, large and comfortable; the bathroom clean and well equipped; even the little touches like the DVD player as well as the TV meant that when the weather wasn't too nice, we could watch what we wanted, perfect if you want to spend an evening in bed. The location of the hotel is ideal for visiting the more tourist-y parts of Edinburgh, very close to Princes St, Waverley and the buses to the airport and not far from the Royal Mile and the Castle or George St. A nice little touch is the exit out onto Calton Road, 5 floors below the reception on Waterloo Place - ideal for the station or grabbing a coffee from Starbucks. We only ate breakfast at the hotel on our last day there but it was just as good as the rest of the hotel, even though Sunday is one of their busiest days for breakfast and we weren't up particularly early, we were seated quickly, the food came quickly and was delicious. I really couldn't find any fault with this hotel. We're already planning our next visit to Edinburgh and we won't be looking at any other hotels. Lesa meiraÓsvikin umsögn gesta á Expedia

"Across from Waverley and Very Comfortable"
This is a solid 4 star hotel that couldn't be in a better location. The staff is very friendly and helpful but it's not exactly value for money. It's worth it for me to pay more to stay here when in Embra as it's so clean and comfy, with very good breakfasts (but breakfast is expensive as well) but this is not "luxurious" , just very nice and solid. "excellent for couples."
My husband and I chose this hotel for a breakaway to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and were both pleased with our choice.The hotel was very clean and comfortable and the rooms top notch with little added extras. Jelly beans and biscuits never go amiss. The staff were very helpful and friendly. They served a good breakfast with a varied choice […] (always thought I didn't like haggis).
