everything was great, except the pool was cold and they ran out of towels often at the poolside. Also they let people bring their dogs and one man bought his dog(it was well behaved) into the breakfast area while he got food. Also we heard alot of doors slamming in the middle of the night though we were on the main level, not sure if this was people […] bringing their dogs out(?) but it was really annoying. The hotel was the best Hampton Inn we have stayed at yet. My only issue was with the breakfast in the morning. It wasn't very good. Aside from that the hotel was just wonderful!

This was our third use of this particular hotel. Of note is the fact that the hotel is about 2 miles from the interstate and set back off Illinois Highway 3. This location has no traffic noise whatsoever making for a better chance at a good nights sleep. The free breakfast is decent and typical. Personell are very friendly and helpful. We had a little […] bit of a problem with hot water for two of our seven nights stay. The desk clerk offered to refund one nights charges. We have a large family group that lives in the South County area of Missouri. We have found this hotel to be a good choice for proximity, quiet and servie. Lesa meira

We stayed here so my husband and son could visit St. Louis while I attended a conference down the road. My husband liked staying close by rather than in the city. They had a great time playing in the hotel pool and visiting the city museum.

Helpful friendly staff; clean and comfy room and facilities. The only suggestion I would make is to have a plug closer to the bed for those of us who use our laptops there.

Stayed here multiple times, and always have had pleasant experience. When minor issues have come up the staff go out of their way to correct the situation. Very clean, comfortable rooms. All staff working there are very friendly and appear to enjoy working there which is perhaps why this is among the best Hampton's out there!

we enjoyed our stay, but the airconditioner did not work well, it was either too cold then the heat came on, and needed a better mirror for applying make up. But everything else was great, the front desk staff was very nice and helpfull. Will plan on staying in another Hampton chain in the future,

I chose to stay at Hampton Inn because I am generally happy with their service and they typically have clean, comfortable rooms. Though I was 30 minutes from downtown St. Louis, I thought it would be worth it to stay in a nice but afforable hotel in Columbia, IL. After a very long day in the city, I was looking forward to come home to a clean comfy […] bed and shower when I found that no one bothered to clean my room, very disappointing. The front desk staff was very apologetic and offered me clean towels and tolietries and assured me the manager would discuss with me my situation in the morning. It turned out to be her day off and I was then assured I would get a phone call or email from her the next day. Two days later, I've not received communication regarding a rate reduction or discount for my next stay. I probably will stay with another hotel chain in the future that puts their customer's comfort first. Lesa meira

We were so happy with our stay. Staff was friendly. We had to drive in from Cleveland for a funeral. We were going to arrive earlier than the check-in time, and I called to ask if we could check in earlier, so we could shower and make it to the wake on time. The man at the desk was more than happy to accommodate us. Breakfast was great in the morning. […] We were getting ready to drive back to Cleveland, and we wanted to fill our coffee mugs, but they needed to be cleaned out first. There was a nice lady who was cleaning around the breakfast area, she heard us talking and took our mugs in the back and scrubbed them out for us. Beds were super comfortable! They took a sad situation, and made it easy on us, and as pleasurable as possible! We have friends who live in Columbia. We will definitely be back! Lesa meira

It was the cleanest hotel we have ever been in! The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was great. I only wish that it was open until 11 instead of 10am. Our family had a late night so I was the only one that took advantage of it!

We stayed at this hotel to be close to family over the Christmas holiday. I had read some reviews that this hotel was not great, but they accepted pets, were a good price, and the location was perfect for us. I figured that if the hotel was not that good, we'd only really be there to sleep so it shouldn't be too big of a deal. Boy, was I happily surprised! The […] front desk was very, very nice and helpful from the very beginning; they hadn't seen on our reservation that we had a dog and had put us on the third floor, but when I mentioned him they immediately moved us to the first floor by a door for easy access to take him out. I told the man at the front desk it wasn't necessary, but he insisted. We were given a fridge and microwave at no charge, which was VERY handy. The place was clean and quiet - I'd researched it, but somehow didn't catch that they had an indoor pool (a good size) or their fitness room (also a good size for the hotel). Every time either of us went to the front desk area, the person there was friendly and helpful. You could tell the hotel was new by the welcoming entrance area - all of the furniture looked like it had just been purchased out of a showroom. The bathroom was very roomy, the ceilings were high, and the bed was comfortable. There were plenty of parking spaces, and the hotel was close to several stores, restaurants, and the highway. Everything was great except one thing at breakfast. Not sure if this was just a bad instance, but the fresh fruit tasted and smelled like fish. They had waffles, yogurt, bagels, toast, cereal and some other items, so we made due.

Clean, Comfortable, Good Breakfast. Staff was very helpful, especially Nick, who was on duty when we checked in. The only drawback is the lack of a hot tub by the indoor pool, after 5 1/2 hours on the road that would have been a really welcome relief. Over all though I would stay there again.

When I stayed here the hotel was still only a couple of years old. The fact that it's so new is obvious in all the decor. All rooms have flatscreens, not like I turned it on, and CFL lightbulbs, I'm always for this, and it is extremely clean. I've stayed at other Marriotts before of the same caliber and what I found surprising was how soft the towels […] and sheets were in this place compared to others! I guess that's what newer towels are supposed to feel like. The only thing I found confusing was the air conditioner. It had the usual type that's by the window with the little panel on it with controls on it. However these controls don't do anything since there's a wall thermostat. It took me a minute to figure out why these buttons weren't doing anything but the thermostat way to go is definitely much much better than the old way. Overall a very nice stay and I would recommend it if you happened to be by the area. Lesa meira

The whole time we were there, the staff was rude. When we checked in, I had a carsick child, so I asked the man at the front desk if the hotel had room service. He informed me that I was at a HAMPTON, not a HILTON. I simple no would have sufficed...I am not stupid...I knew what hotel I was staying in. I was simply making sure, because going out to eat […] with a vomiting child is not fun. The walls and floors are extremely thin in this place. And on top of it, the elevator was not working, which would not have been a problem, except I had a broken arm and a suitcase with 7 days worth of clothing for 4 people to carry up the stairs. The man at the desk, of course, offered no assistance. You can hear everything, including people walking above you. I did not complain, however, the people under us did. So the front desk person came up and told us (in a very rude way) to keep it down. So my children spend their time on the beds in our room so no one would hear them walking around. Needless to say, we did not spend very much time in our room. When I booked this room (a month before our stay) , I was asked how many children would be staying and their ages. The hotel staff knew I was traveling with 3 small children and yet they put us on the 2nd floor. Why did they not save us a room on the 1st floor...common sense! One of the ladies who worked in the breakfast areas was very rude also. I asked for a bowl of cereal before she took it off the counter and she turned and rolled her eyes at me. I just told her never mind. Our bathroom did not get cleaned all week while we were there. Also, we got ambushed by wasps two days in a row walking out of the hotel. I got stung and I am allergic. The second day, I complained to the front desk and I think maintenace did take care of the problem. There was a very nice lady that worked the front desk a few evenings that we were there. She suggested good restaurant for the kids. She was very nice and helpful. I would not suggest this hotel for Lesa meira

My stay at this hotel could have been better. We got married in Columbia and we had about 25 of our wedding guests stay at the Hampton Inn with us. Most stayed for 1 night, some for 4 nights. The night before our wedding at 9:30pm another guest complained to the front desk about my family laughing and talking. The hotel personnel's first response was […] to tell that guest that we would get one warning and then would be thrown out of the hotel if we continued to be loud (I overheard because I was getting coffee in the lounge). We were not being that loud and it was only 9:30pm. If you give a hotel around 15 full rooms I would think they would be more understanding. She could have comforted that guest in a way that did not make me feel even more nervous on the night before my wedding! Strike one. The housekeeping staff did a good job but they were incredibly slow. I had to ask for our room to be cleaned twice one day and then three times the next day. Strike two. The hotel only has one honeymoon suite and they are located less than a mile away from a popular wedding reception hall. So my husband and I stayed in a King bed room which was alright but it would have been nice to have had the honeymoon suite (it was booked more than four months before our wedding) Strike three. On the plus side I will say that the Hampton Inn let us use the lobby to conduct family meetings before and after the wedding. Most of the front desk workers were very friendly and accomodating. I would not stay at this Hampton Inn again. As a bride I was disappointed that I did not receive any special treatment - not one single chocolate mint, rose or kind congratulatory note (nor my guests), as a guest I would rate this hotel a low 2 out of 5 stars. We stayed at the Hampton Inn just overnight on our way to Missippi. We were greeted with a warm welcome the minute we stepped inside. The clerk even recommended several places to eat .
