When planning a trip Venice we were advised not to stay in or very close to Venice. So we decided on this hotel only 30 min drive to Venice. And we hit the jackpot. This hotel is royalty. The garden surrounding the hotel is HUGE and very romantic. The hotel is like nothing else. It’s more like a mansion. The room was very big, more like a suite. I could not believe the elegance for this price. The whole time we stayed there I was expecting someone to slap me in the face and charge me three times more. We are still amazed by value for our money. It’s like something from the TV show bachelor. Highly recommended.

"Great Location with Good Amenties, but...."
The location is very convenient to Saint Marks Square and public transportation options. The hotel seems to have been recently remodeled and had nice furnishings. However, one issue seriously impacted the comfort of our visit. We stayed for two nights in late April. And, when we arrived, the room felt like it was over 90 degrees inside. I learned that […] the A/C system was not yet turned on for the season and that there was nothing that could be done about it. Their only suggestion was to open the windows and hope that it would get cooler outside that evening. Opening the windows did cool things a bit. However, the noise level from pedestrians constantly passing by and noisy nearby gondaliers made it difficult to watch TV or have a conversation at normal sound levels. At night, the outside noise, coupled with below average mattresses made it difficult to sleep well. If we had the AC that was advertised, and better bedding, the rating would have been much higher. "Very convenient to Piazza San Marco"
A nice basic European hotel only a few minutes walk to San Marco. Clean comfortable rooms, though small as is typical in Venice. Front desk is provided by their sister hotel Violino D'Oro which is right behind the Anastasia.
"Hotel Anastasia - Venice, a hidden gem"
My husband & I did not want to skip Venice on our quick trip to Italy. We were lucky to find a good deal on hotels.com (after speaking to friends in Florence who were having trouble booking a hotel - a Best Western! - for almost double what we paid.) We honestly have nothing negative to say about the hotel. Our impressions are completely subjective […] to our personal experiences. Here are some notes to think about: We drove into Venice from Milan; parked our car (for around 30 Euros/day) and took the vaporetto (really the only way to get there) - only to find that there are 2 San Marco stops. We got off at the wrong one! To stay at the Hotel Anastasia, get off at SAN MARCO - GIARDENETTI, or you'll have to walk and climb over bridges, leaving you feeling frustrated. The Hotel Anastasia is behind another hotel (it's sister hotel, Hotel Violino d'Oro.) The staff maintains both. There is really no one present at the reception - but one can easily call to the sister hotel and get service. It's located right next to a gondola station. Which was lovely the first morning - woke up to someone singing "Volare". But then when you're trying to sleep or want a little bit of quiet after a long day of walking in what some call "adult Disneyland," you might find yourself wondering when everyone would go home? Also, note that you'll find lots of mosquitos in Italy - Venice and Florence. I did not know this and have quite a few bites to remember my trip. From the Hotel Anastasia, it's very easy to get to anywhere in Venice. The room we stayed in was small, but comfortable. A bit too warm for my comfort, but it was nice to be able to open the windows - but of course, it was noisier and a better chance for that darn mosquito to get inside! The bathroom was clean. The shower was hot. If you don't mind navigating the room with someone and your luggage, it should be fine. A continental breakfast is provided - came with our room. "Hotel Anastasia Friendly, clean hotel near St Mark"
Very pleased with Hotel Anastasia. We stayed for 3 nights from 8th December 2011. The hotel is in a very convenient location, in a quiet side street only a few minutes walk from San Marco square (depending on how fast you walk). Hotel staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast consisted of the usual cereal, juices, hot beverages, croissants, […] bread rolls, jams, ham, cheese etc... Rooms: small but clean and comfortable with flat screen TV and minibar. No tea making facilities were available in the room but we didn't mind. The bathroom was clean and modern and comes with complimentary shower gels/soap/shampoo etc... Overall: I would definitely recommend Hotel Anastasia! The hotel was very good value for money considering the cleanliness, quality and location of it. Lesa meira
"Hotel Anastasia-fantastic Venice Hotel"
The Hotel Anastasia is a couple of minutes walk from St Marks Square, a location that cannot be bettered. The hotel itself is wonderful value, helpful staff, great breakfast in the front room, free wi-fi, clean rooms and linen which is replaced everyday; what more could you want? We're a couple of well travelled 50 year olds, who've seen many a hotel […] room in our lives, so not easily impressed. We are recommending this one to family and friends, and sending our kids there next year. We had a fantastic week in Venice, enhanced immensely by the pleasant and warm hotel we returned exhausted to each evening. Did I mention it's right next to St Mark's Square? Unbelievable value. Very nice hotel in the best location for St.Marks and the surrounding sights. Rooms a little small but that's Venice. Staff was helpful , always. Easy access from airport and to cruise ship by way of Public transport, Tough to find, if they told me it was next to Europa and Regina Hotel, it would have made finding it much easier. "Hotel Anastasia"
Make sure you do NOT get the room on the first floor! It is located next to the maid's quarters and is extremely small. The bathroom was nice but the size of the room was unacceptable. The front desk attendant that checked us in was rude and uninformative as was the one that checked us out. There was a nice girl who worked at the front desk who was […] helpful but all in all most of the front desk gentleman were not welcoming. We were not informed that the front desk closes at 10 pm and we would have to get our key from the sister hotel. The breakfast was ok and it was nice having a self-serve coffee maker in the lobby. Good hotel, location very central to main square, breakfast is served at a different hotel but not a big issue, quite and rooms are a descent size for Venice - would recommend.
"Hotel Anastasia - very central to San Marco"
The hotel personnel were polite and very friendly. They had valuable information re: food in the area, transportation. The single room was narrow, but easy to navigate; the large bathroom had a shower with high water pressure and adequate hot water. I have recommended to friends since returning, and would definitely go back.

The location is fantastic, but the hotel is run very much at minimum cost, and hasn;t been upgraded in a while. + Location, friendly reception - Beds not comfortable, generally old, often no receptionist available, pay for Wifi, small (double) room, no restaurant (had to go to another hetel for breakfast - included and good)

Comfortable and clean rooms with excellent bathroom. Staff very pleasant and accommodating. Location - tucked away and quiet, but only a stone's throw from the campo san moise and 5 mins to stand in the middle of Piazza San Marco. A ten minute walk from the Alilaguna San Marco stop - useful if arriving from San Marco airport by boat, and close to the […] ACTV boat services giving access to all of venice. Hotel has no restaurant so you walk round the corner to the adjoining hotel for breakfast - we liked this as you could spectate the bustling Gondola stop. No frills, but perfect if you are looking for a quiet base in a central location at a reasonable price. Lesa meira

trés bien situé, personnel trés gentil et trés serviable le seul inconvenient qui n'en est pas vraiment un c'est le petit dejeuner à prendre à l'hotel à coté. à 3min à pied de la place st marc. avoir une carte pour bien localiser l'hotel qui pourrait etre un peu compliquer à trouver. je recommande vivement cet hotel

Lite, lytt og trangt, utsikt rett i nabovegg, men FANTASTISK beliggenhet, sentralt til shopping og Marcusplassen. Supert for en natt, beste frokosten vi har opplevd i Italia!!
"Anastasia hotel - good hotel at good place"
Vaporetto-stop only 100m away, 200m to the shopping street. Also kept very clean and nice, staff was very friendly with nice tips. A little hard to find first, even though its very close to san marco square, because you have to circle around another hotel. Room was very nicely cooled and also quiet. I would give a lot of points to this hotel.
