We (2 adults + 1 child) stayed here 3 days before our cruise from Rome (Civitavecchia) and 1 day after. Very pleased with the hotel and would come again. Staff pleasant and helpful. Rooms and bathrooms clean, tidy and spacious, high ceiling and interior oozes old classy charm. Free quite fast wi-fi internet for hotel guests. Good central location, close to Terminal station, 15-20 min walk to most of the famous sights. Breakfast buffet quite good and the coffee machine, although automatic, makes an almost perfect cappuchino... for us a BIG PLUS. Some nice restaurants in the vicinity like the Gallo Matto, 5 minutes walk down on Cavour. Just a little minus: Bed mattresses a bit hard for my taste, but slept well anyway.

Pros: - Great location (Colosseum, super market and good restaurants) - Friendly and very helpful staff. - Clean rooms - Computer with internet access in each room. Cons: The only cons that I can think of are: - Very little floor space to store luggage (Minor problem) - Breakfast was only a croissant and a water/cafe at a bakery near by. Would be great if there were some fruits as well. But this hotel is perfect for a couple that are looking for a relatively cheap hotel in a great location! I would recommend this hotel to any couple and if I go back to Rome I would use this hotel again.

Location was pretty good near the city center, about 10 min. bus ride. Staff was very helpful and kind. The room was very nice but the air conditioning was poor. Free internet connection, but it did not work in the room though.

"Great little hotel in a great location"
This was the second time we have stayed at this hotel. It is actually 2 hotels about 50 metres apart on the same street. The Angel is the annexe & the Hotel Sant Angelo the main building. Was a little confusing: the desk at the Angel annexe has closed & you have to go to the desk at the Hotel Sant Angelo. If there a sign indicating this, it must have […] been in Italian. We certainly didn't see it. The rooms in both hotels are fine: small by some standards, but certainly adequate, nicely furnished & comfortable. The lifts in both buildings are minuscule - obviously retro-fitted. They would maybe hold 3 people at best, or 1 person with luggage. If you are taking large amounts of luggage that could be problematic. There's a similar situation with the shower stalls in the rooms. We found ours barely navigable. Ignoring political correctness: fat or obese people would have real trouble. Service was fine - this doesn't pretend to be a 5 star establishment. Note: if you are staying in the annexe breakfast is in the Sant Angelo. We cannot comment on breakfasts, as we had ours round the corner at an excellent café (the Antonini Gran Caffé Esperia) just across the road from the Tiber. We had no real troubles: the taps in the hand basin were reversed (you are in Italy) & part of the shower screen fell to pieces, but was fixed immediately & was not a problem. One other oddity: there was an electric kettle in the room along with two cup & saucers but no tea or coffee making supplies. I asked at the desk & was told that "they were coming". We stayed three nights & "they" didn't. Still, very minor glitches & far-outweighed by what is an economical hotel in a great location. Lesa meira
"Hotel Angel - God beliggenhet, god standard"
Hadde et fint opphold mai 2011. Hotellet er akkurat passe sentralt, men ligger likevel i et rolig område. Rommet var i god stand, rent og pent. Kan være verdt å merke seg at hotellet "samarbeider" med nabohotellet, Hotel Sant Angelo. Hvis Hotel Angels resepsjon ikke er åpen er det altså bare å henvende seg rett borti gaten.
