"Earnslaw Lodge"
Stayed for 3 nights during the summer. Sign in reception stated bar was open 16:00-22:00, I never found it open after returning from evening strolls, and i was back well before 22:00! The room was clean, a good size and had everything that i needed except a window! Well it did have windows that opened onto a corridor across which were the windows to […] the outside world. Having to keep the windows and curtains shut for privacy and safety made the room very hot and stuffy and i found it difficult to sleep. The staff were very polite and helpful. Lesa meira
"Great views from most rooms and short walk to town"
Reasonable price considering the convenient location and lake views. Decor is dated and basic but rooms are fairly large and clean. Opt for a room with a view.
Fantastic View!
Hotel offers stunning views of the lake and mountains. It is within a short walk to the city central. The room is large and clean. The reception service is outstanding. Staff are very friendly and extremely helpful.
The rooms were clean and spacious. Some rooms had good view of the lake. Perfect place for a couple.
"Earnslaw Lodge in Queenstown - friendly and helpfu"
We booked here for 4 days - the hotel is a 10 minute walk to Queenstown, so well situated. We booked the 2 bed, lake facing apartment and were very happy with it. Lynley and Phil, the owners, were very friendly and accommodating. We ended up staying for a further 3 days as were snowed in. The owners gave us another room and helped us to re-arrange flights […] and coach journeys etc. They could not have been more helpful. I would definitely stay here again if I returned to Queenstown. Lovely hotel with wonderful views of the lake. Only about 15 minutes from centre of Queenstown, but the walk includes a very steep hill.

"Great Place to Stay"
Overall I was very happy with my stay at Earnslaw Lodge. The motel is kept very clean. The rooms are maintanied well. The pictures on the website were accurate. I definitely recommend getting a Lakeview room. I woke up one morning to a rainbow over the lake. It was breathtaking. It's a 5-10 min walk to the center of town. We are in our 30's and thought […] nothing of it. Perhaps if you're older it might be a little difficult walking back up a very small hill (which is what gives you such a beautiful view of the lake). "Lovely and spacious!"
Earnslaw has wonderful lake views (if you get the lake view rooms, that is). It's not a sideways peek into the lake from one point in your room. The entire room actually faces a vast expanse of the lake with stunning views. Rooms are spacious and clean and the bathrooms are well equipped as well. 10 min walk from town center and friendly front desk […] folks. Only downside may be that loud noises travel easily between rooms, but this isn't specific to Earnslaw. Most other hotels like this have the same issue, so carry earplugs wherever you go in any case! :) Lesa meira
"Great value and quality"
We stopped over in Queenstown for one night on our way back from the Routeburn Track and just needed the basics, but we would have easily chosen to stay at the Earnslaw Lodge for longer. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful, letting us store our bags while we were on the track, and the room was big, clean, and quiet. Overall a very good value […] for a hotel within walking distance of downtown Queenstown. Lesa meira
"Close to attractions"
Our room didn't have a view but many of the other rooms have a lake view. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we booked a local tour through them. The motel is on the main road but the room was below road level so we didn't hear the traffic.

Overall, good room for the money, the views were great, and it was a very short walk to downtown.
