Beachside – Höfðaborg

Overall the accommodation was pretty nice. Everything was clean and well kept. Pretty quiet unless there are noisy visitors the same time as your stay. There were 2 things that I didn't like. The bed was 2 twin beds put together. You could feel it in the middle. It was not as comfortable as other beds and I had some lower back pain when I woke up in […] the morning. Also there is not full DSTV in the house unless you book the penthouse. So you only have access to about 6 or 7 channels. Not fun since we wanted to watch movies and there was only 1 movie channel that kept replaying the same 3 movies. But otherwise a nice place to stay and have friends over. The hotel is a lovely house that has been converted into short stay accommodation. Although lovely, the house does need some maintenance and the safe is far too small. Overall however, we really enjoyed our stay and for the price this is an ideal get away location and place to stay.

Stayed in the penthouse which was immaculate with everything supplied. Service was excellent and friendly. Great views of the beach. Would stay again.

The house is nice, but it is not a hotel. You need to bring your own laptop and phone to be able to have access to the outsise world. You are pretty much on your own. I will not go back there. It will be a nice place if you bring your whole family and friends with you, so you can have the whole house to yourself.

Beachside appears to be a private villa which has been converted to use as a self catering guest house. Whilst in a superb position with an excellent staff the accommodation has some drawbacks. The bedroom which we were allocated opened onto a terrace shared by other rooms. The adjacent room had patio doors at right angles to ours and had an open plan […] bathroom. This effectively meant we could step onto the terrace as someone in the next room was in the shower on full view. Potentially embarrassing! The manager and his staff were superb and were incredibly helpful in all aspects of our visit. The lounge,pool and communal facilities were excellent. very friendly staff, fantastic location very close to the beach and cafes and restaurants in camps bay - SAFE AREA!!!! fantastic huge room with grand balcony overlooking the coast and the mountains, ultra comfy.

Amazingly enough there was no aircondition or any fans so even with all windows and doors open it was very very hot and difficult to sleep. There were also bed bugs in the room but that can happen for any hotel, but not a nice experience. I was shifted to a different room that did have aircondition. Location is very nice though.

We stayed 2 nights at Beachside and completely fell in love with the place. It's more then just a room it's a whole house that you can utilize! They have a kitchen, a garden, a pool and TV/living room/dining room areas you have full access to, and all of this just a few blocks from the beach and fantastic restaurants. In addition it's very close to […] downtown Cape Town (10 minutes drive). Only downside was the surrounding work that was going on on neighboring houses. Kind of loud during normal business hours. We stayed a week in July 2011, in the Atlantic Ocean suite. The view is very nice -- not 180 degrees, but plenty of beach and mountain. Room was cleaned well every day. The construction next door, referenced by another review, seems finished on the outside, and the inside work going on now did not disturb us. However, beware the Penthouse above, and […] make sure no one intends any late parties there (we had to complain one night, but management took care of it immediately). Location is very convenient (walking distance to the quai) to excellent restaurants, a breakfast place, and a hotel with a very good spa service. Bathroom large but not well designed. Lots of closet space. Three people slept comfortably, one on a fold-out sofa bed. The shared common area is well fitted out and extremely spacious. Large living room with gas fireplace, comfortable furniture; two separate dining areas; smallish pool with barbeque area; very nice sized and reasonably equipped kitchen. We were able to cook meals without any problems. Best feature, however, is the manager, Robert, who could not have been more pleasant or helpful. Overall, the website may make it look more luxurious than it is, but it's a good value. We will definitely return. Lesa meira

Beachside is more a self-contained apartment than a hotel. It's self catering, with decent standard of rooms situated a couple streets back from the main street in Camps Bay. A good value option with a lot of privacy and good location.

The hotel staff could not have done more for me. They went above and beyond in every respect. I won't go into everything they did for me in case others then expect similar but I could not be more grateful. The hotel was also exceptional. Excellent quality, excellent occasion. Ett perfekt boende i Camps Bay med Havsytsikt från den delade balkongen samt ca 200m till havet. Priset är suveränt med tanke på läget och rummens kalite. Det Kändes säkert, fräscht och mycket bra Service. Då det är ett lgh hotell finns det ingen reception att vända sig till dygnet runt men de lämnar ett visitkort så det är bara att ringa om man har […] frågor. Många restauranger inom gångavstånd och sightseeingbussen avgår ca 300m från hotellet. Skulle varmt rekommendera detta till alla!! Lesa meira
