EVERGREEN LODGE AT YOSEMITE – Yosemite National Park (þjóðgarður)

The main Lodge and reception are built of sturdy logs, as are all the individual lodges. We stayed in a Vintage cabin. This was one large bedroom and a separate bathroom. The room was warm and comfortable and really gave you an impression of staying in a remote area. This hotel was great- the 2 br cabin was wonderful and a considerable value in this expensive area. The lodge is wonderful and the hotel will only be improved when the pool/hot tub opens this Summer. My only complaint is that the food is a bit pricy (though high quality). Would have liked a few cheaper menu options.

Loved it! The tavern is awesome, the shop is nice, the people are great, the food is good, everything is reasonably priced and the lodge itself was really comfy! Only slight disadvantage is that it takes over an hour to get to Yosemite Valley, but that didn't bother us too much - would definitively stay here again!

This is the closest accommodation to the eastern entry to the park. Originally we tried to get a room at the lodge located within the Yosemite park valley. It proved to be our good fortune that it was full. The evergreen lodge was half the price and twice as comfortable. This place is awesome!!!

A perfect location. Our back porch looked straight out into the forest and our Deluxe lodge was semi-detached, but in a complex of others. Automatic gas fire in the room was great for warming up after a day outside. The coffee machine and fridge were also very useful. All in all a perfect base for exploring Yosemite, but make sure you allow enough time […] to get to the valley - it's about 2 hrs away - but is what you'd expect from the region being so vast. The main lodge buildings provided great food (and not too expensive compared to other US cities), a recreation room (with a lovely fire), table tennis, WiFi, a well-stocked shop with good sandwiches for a day in the National Park. The only disappointment was that we only had two nights here, and we both felt it was the highlight of our honeymoon. The experience of watching the sunset over the trees was wonderful; and it was only 2 minutes walk from the lodge restaurant. Highly recommended when staying in a Deluxe Lodge. For UK visitors it might look expensive, but is a large room and in a beautiful setting - well worth the visit. Lesa meira

I've stayed at the Evergreen two times now, and have loved it both times. The staff are friendly, the restaurant is good. Just make sure you know a few things before booking in order to avoid disappointment: the cabins have no TVs, but do have satellite radios and a box full of games. There is no cell reception at all, and although there is a rec-room […] where wifi is provided, it is very slow. Also, the lodge is about a half-hour drive away from Yosemite. With respect to a multiple day visit to Yosemite, the lodge offered the advantage of cabins with comfort over on-sight hotels. Very quiet! The food in the restaurant was outstanding and greatly appreciated after long days hiking. The lodge complex is situated near to the west entrance of Yosemite and gave us a real sense of staying in the wilderness. The cabins were comfortable and plenty large enough for a family of four. Our only slight disappointment was the range of food available - since there really is nowhere else close by to eat, we had to have dinner on the site every […] night and the menu was fairly limited and rather expensive. Having said that, the meals we did choose were excellent. All in all a fantastic place to stay to enjoy the Yosemite experience without being in a tent! Lesa meira

The Evergreen Lodge is a wonderful place to stay outside of the northwestern entrance to Yosemite. The accommodations are in log cabins which adds to the outdoor experience but with comfortable bedding! The restaurant served gourmet meals which we enjoyed each night and after dinner we were able to walk back to the cabins and not have to drive the dark […] roads. Although there is no internet or phone in the cabins, the lodge does provide free satellite phone and internet in the recreation hall. Would definitely stay again. Lesa meira

We loved this place and will be back. We got a cottage and it was retro and quaint. The grounds are kept beautifully and the entire layout is quite spectacular. I called it "uncamping". The restaurant was much better than I expected from any lodge up in the woods. The food was ethnically diverse, fresh and served by people who were actually happy to […] be doing their job. The lodge is in a lovely place just outside The entrance to Yosemite park. Only small issue was. The service in the restaurant could have been a lot slicker! Quality of waitresses was unequal from very good to pretty awful. Overall a great place to stay especially with kids

It seemed like a beautiful tucked away village. We went in the July and there was no need for AC. The bed was so comfortable compared to other beds we laid on throughout our week vacation. The staff was very friendly and helpful when needed. Our rooms were also cleaned daily and restocked when needed.

We arrived at the north entrance to Yosemite National Park from Sacremento. Evergreen Lodge is just north of this entrance. We booked the High Country tour with Alex as our guide and had a great time. Some hiking and climbing made this an exciting adventure. Especially sitting on top of a granite rock we had climbed and viewing the Half Dome while a […] marmot sat two feet from us nibbling on some stones probably for moisture. We probably sat there for twenty minutes. This marmot diid not have a care in the world. We also booked the White Water Rafting half day trip. With the large amount of snow this year ...it was the most exciting thrill ride ever. I was a first timer and now I am hooked. The lodge has many family activities And lots of outdoor activities on the property for children. The restaurant on site has wonderful meals . Exclusive chef prepared meals, a little pricey and sandwiches etc. There is a tavern next to the restaurant with live entertainment. About the lodging itself...we had a cabin with it's own bath..sirus radio, couch which also made into a bed and a queen bed. Be specific about what you are looking for in lodging. Some cabins have no bathrooms and occupants use the campground facilities. I would definitely stay here again! Lesa meira

Beautiful, wooded surroundings, rustic-styled, well-thought out cabins with all of the modern amenities, and top-notch restaurant! Nice to sit out on our porch with a glass of wine.... It was a little bit of a drive to get to Yosemite Valley, but well worth it. A beautiful, well-run establishment.

We found that it took over an hour and a half to reach the Lodge from Yosemite Valley. Our room was 10'x10' and the bathroom 4'x4'-not exactly the spacious cabin shown in their pictures. We complained immediately but were charged for 2 nights anyway. Bathroom was dirty. Room was dark and dingy. Bathroom pocket door stuck every time-it required 2 people […] to escape the bathroom! We left after the first night-it was just too far a drive to leave the first night or we certainly would have! Do not be taken in by their false advertising. Lesa meira

Great location right by Yosemite national park with a fantastic Tavern.

The lodge is not near a town and about an hour drive to the Yosemite Valley Floor. You must drive about 7 miles down a road that is a little treacherous to get to the location and you must buy all your food there or bring it with you and keep it in your room. It can be a problem in your car because of bears. The restaurant is a little pricey for entrees […] ($20-30 each), but the burgers were good and well priced at $10-$12 each. Don't order the Evergreen BLT it is awful, overpriced and ridiculously small! The room was tiny, but the bed was very comfy and there were board games to play in the room. Shower head was extremely low and its floor looked dingy. Our cabin had two rooms so we shared a wall and could hear the people next to us coming home at midnight which was rough, but the ammenities of the lodge are good. Two ping pong tables, shuffle board, smores, movies in the recreation room. We would consider staying again with a larger family group where we could rent a cabin for ourselves to avoid sharing walls. Lesa meira

We were very pleased with our cabin at Evergreen Lodge. It was exactly as it appeared on their website. Nothing more, nothing less. The cabin was very clean. We were also pleasantly surprised by the resaurant prices as we were very isolated and they could have charged a higher premium. The food was very good and the staff were friendly. BEAUTIFUL RESORT. NICE ROOMS. FOOD WAS GOOD, LITTLE EXPENSIVE. TOUGH PLACE TO GET TOO. EVEN WITH GPS WE GOT LOST. THE RESORT IS CLOSE TO YOSEMITE MAIN GATE BUT 30 MILES FROM ANYTHING ELSE. MUCH NICER THAN A HEATED TENT IN YOSEMITE. DON'T HAVE TO FIGHT THE CROWDS. WE WOULD DEFINITELY GO AGAIN. NO TV NO PROBLEM. SATELITE RADIO AND GAMES IN ROOM WERE FUN...STAFF […] WAS OUTSTANDING. Hard to know where to begin with this! To be fair we had a bad day leading up to our arrival at Evergreen but we were so pleased to get there and felt we could put up with anything. It seems Evergreen Lodges were set on proving that theory wrong! On entering our cabin we were confronted by an awful smell sort of like damp and the gas from the heater […] combined and everything in the cabin had that smell. It was freezing (literally) so it wasn't possible to open a window. We had arrived late and the desk was just closing so we were optimistic and decided we would get used to it. The lodge was tiny and it did not feel robust. It was like an old store shed had been converted into a room for unsuspecting tourists! On the plus side there were lots of blankets although they stank of the heater and damp too. The bathroom seemed large compared to the rest of the cabin and it was cold beyond belief. The shower cubicle was tiny. Both my husband and I are 6 foot tall and the shower head came to around the rib cage. It was impossible to bend down to wet your hair as the cubicle was so narrow your bum got wedged against the side! Up until we went to bed we were aware of a noise coming from the heater but we were not concentrating in this as we had so many other problems to contend with. It transpired the heater would randomly make a noise like a backfiring car approximately every 20 minutes and around every hour or so it would click really really loudly for around 5 minutes. We would be nodding off and then BANG and you'd get the fright of your life. Our nerves were in tatters and after around 2 hours of fitful sleep we were at reception at 6:45 the following morning to check out. The lady on the front desk was sympathetic and helpful and she did offer to change our cabin but the was no way we were staying in that place any longer. She refunded our remaining nights accommodation as a gesture which we did appreciate but the whole experience of Evergreen Lodge was horrific and one we Lesa meira

Top marks for trying to make an effort and for us at least, top marks for succeeding. Lodges were clean and well fitted out for a very comfortable stay although worth noting that there was no TV or wifi in the room itself, although both available in the common rooms within the hotel grounds. Very child friendly. A long way from anywhere else to go so […] on-site restaurant and bar will be where most eat. If you're visiting Yosemite, and want to stay at a place that's virtually on the border of the park-- this is the one for you. It's located off of Route 120, about six miles in on Evergreen Road. Especially in the summer, you get away from the maddening crowds in the park and enjoy the quiet abounds of nature around you. The rooms are upgraded cabins. […] Be prepared for no TV or telephone (they have one you can use at their rec center), which actually makes it nice. There's also a flat screen TV in their bar-- so you can catch up on sports or news. Bottom line, this is a great place to stay. Recommend you make your reservations in advance. First off, the room smelled. Maybe mildewy I don't know exactly. Second, for the room it was HIGHLY over priced. Yeah it was a 2 bedroom but there is no microwave, forcing you to eat at the over priced, horrible service restaurant that when it's 24 degrees outside you have to drive over to. The restaurant food was not good. The black angus hamburger […] was bland, although the tomato jam was good. The only offer pickled onions and not regular or grilled, yuck. My salad took longer then anyone else's order. I was the last and I asked for a plain salad no dressing, etc. That's not hard to ask for. We ended up leaving a day early. It's clearly on the other end outside of the park but if you're coming from SoCal, you have to drive through the entire park to get to it and in the snow the roads are NOT maintained, meaning lots of ice. I over heard many people complaining about how far it was, how scared they were to drive there and others complaining about the elk burgers. The kids liked their hot dogs though. I'll give them that. I will not come back unless they lower the price and during summer when it's not snowing. Lesa meira

Quiet cosy cottages in a stunning location. Excellent bar and restaurant on site, friendly staff.

Very roomy cabin with 2 bedrooms and large living room. Close to Yosemite, beautiful scenery, excellent restaurant, and wonderful customer service. Would recommend to anyone!

Really enjoyed this place. A little pricey, but worth it as you don't get much more value than this and you can't beat the location.

Evergreen Lodge is exactly what it says - a lodge surrounded by evergreen trees. The lodges were small and compact but perfectly adequate. There was a fridge and a coffee machine but thankfully no tv. The on site restaurant was top notch, fantastic steaks. I will never forget sitting around the outdoor fireplace chatting to other guests whilst drinking […] a glass of Californian wine. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Stayed in new cabin. It was clean, comfortable and had a beautiful view. Good food at restaurant. Very friendly staff. A bit pricey and location a bit remote, but worth it.

The Evergreen Lodge is a nice property for such a rustic setting. The rates are too high especially if you are staying several days. Some discounted rate should apply to those who do stay 4 to 6 days at a time. The configuration of the cabin worked well for us a family of four although the twin beds were a bit small for our young adult children. The […] beds overall were very average in comfort and replacing them with quality beds would be a plus since this is such a lovely setting near a national park. The staff was courteous and the restaurant was a real plus since the location is so isolated from any other options. Menu selections were a cut above average fare, just a bit pricey. The seven mile road in to the lodge from the main highway was narrow and bumpy most of the way. We did not enjoy that ride especially being weary after a long day of hiking in Yosemite. Still we would consider staying at Evergreen Lodge again if we return to Yosemite. Lesa meira

insgesamt eine schoene anlage. leider etwas weit vom Yosemite Valley (45 min). ausserhalb des zimmers hat die abwasseranlage etwas gerochen - teilweise beeintraechtigung der terassenbenutzung. sonstige einrichtungen machen einen guten eindruck. restaurant sehr empfehlenswert!

Evergreen lodge havde ikke plads da vi ankom trods bekræftet reservation. Hotelet erkendte at det var deres fejl efter beskyldninger mod hotels.com som der ikke var hold i. Vi blev indkvarteret 50 km. fra hotelet på Evergreens regning, men det kompenserede jo ikke for en tabt dag i yosemite. Hytternes tilstand minder om noget fra 50,erne og er meget […] små.
