"Pounamu Apartments"
When we first walked into our apartment it was "wow". A view from the floor to celing windows that looked like an oil painting. The staff were very friendly and helpful with booking day trips & advising on the best ones. Any accommodation after here appeared very shabby.

My husband and I are on a round the world trip and this was definitely our favorite hotel. Originally booked a studio for 2 nights but upgraded to a one bedroom and stayed for 5. The apartment had all the amenities we needed from a computer to a washer/ dryer to a fully supplied kitchen. "Clean and extremely comfortable"
This room was incredibly clean and comfortable. It was a 10-15 minute walk to downtown Queenstown. Our only regret was that we didn't stay here more than one night. Note that the office is only open certain hours so make sure you get there at that time or let them know in advance so they can make other arrangements.

"Mixed"
Office seemed a bit unprofessional. Too many steps to lug luggage up. Could have used a stove top in room. On the other hand, location and attractiveness of the facility, the room and the view were all excellent, plus a garage for the car.
"Excellent Stay"
We had the small room and after reading some of the complaints prior to arriving, I was a bit nervous. But, we loved our stay. We arrived early and Leo let us check in early. This was a huge relief because we had been traveling for about 26 hours. The room was tight but very comfortable with an amazing bathroom. "Fantastic modern accomodation"
Pounamu apartments offered fantastic accomodation just a fifteen minute walk from the centre of Queenstown, with fanastic views out over the lak to the surrounding spectacular scenery. We chose to upgrade from a studio to a one bedroom apartment and I recommend that this is money well spent - the studios are nice, clean and well appointed but you get […] so much more with the apartments for not that much more money - a living room, full kitchen, balcony and the views! It really is a home from home. Each apartment shares washing facilities with just one other apartment which makes it easy to get your washing done if your touring around without having to waste valuable time in a laundrette. There are really nice little touches like complimentary chocolates and a selection of DVDs which can be exchanged at reception for something to your taste. "Very small studio"
The studio is very small with a window facing the corridor. It is not possible to open the window for some sunlight as everyone who passes by the corridor can see your room. Go for the one bedroom apartment if you have the budget and plan to spend a few days in Queenstown.

"Brilliant"
We spoiled ourselves and booked in here for Christmas as we are travelling for 6 months backpacker style. Pounamu didn't disappoint - clean, well decorated, great views, very comfortable, good kitchen, close to town and friendly staff. The reception/management staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The location was within easy walking distance to the centre of Queenstown, but was on a very busy road. Our studio room was very clean and modern. However, being a studio room there was very little space.

This complex is beautifully located a short scenic walk from town. The management is the absolute finest and most helpful. The units are beautiful! Best value in Queenstown!
"Pounamu Apartments - Luxury with Great Views"
Well equipped apartment with great panoramic view over the lake. The road runs between the two but this did not prove to be an issue as the traffic was not heavy and the triple glass doors are well insulated. Get an upstairs luxury apartment and insist on the lake view.
"Apartment hotel in Queenstown - a bit of a walk"
We had a good stay in the clean, comfortable room. The laundry was a huge perk, as this was mid-way through a two week trip! Walking downtown was a bit far when the weather was cold / rainy, but otherwise this was a good hotel choice.
Not cheap but an awesome apartment to stay in. Nice views, people, and the space was a nice break from a regular hotel room. Warning to rent the one bedroom, not just the suite
Despite a hostile and rude greeting as our plane was delayed, staff were later apologetic and helpful. The views were amazing however our double bed consisted of two single beds placed together and thus quite uncomfortable. Nonetheless, we had a comfortable stay and would return again.

We had a bad experience with the management and would not recommend staying in this location. Our personal experience aside - while the apartment was lovely and clean, we found dragging luggage up many steps to be quite inconvenient. Definitely not a place for handicapped individuals.
