Hotel Indigo Downtown-Alamo – San Antonio

This was a great hotel would definitely stay again. We were very impressed on how clean everything was. The only down fall was they didn't have a mini-fridge to keep our leftovers in!

I love Hotel Indigo. Have yet to stay in one I didnt like. however, you must be ok with very, very small rooms and old hotels. Because that is exactly what this one is. It was a very nice hotel, but it not for those who want to be away from children and tourist traps. Probably my biggest complaint was the lack of a decent bar/restaurant in the area. Basically dives and chain bars. However, the price is good, its clean, and easy to get around from.

(Positives) Great Location, Nice/Clean Rooms, Reasonable Pricing and Hotel Staff Is Knowledgeable & Helpful. (Negatives) Small Rooms, Loud Hallway Due To Original Floors and Extremely Loud A/C Unit In Room............ I was thankful for the awesome valet service as parking in this area is scarce. The front desk people were awesome and the location is ideal as the Alamo is right across the street. The room was very clean with good amenities. I will stay there again in the future.

I thought this hotel was awesome. I stayed there for 6 nights for a conference and the location was stellar and the rooms were quite nice, especially for the extremely competitive price! Moreover, there was a *fire* nearby the hotel at 3am my last night there and they had to evacuate the entire hotel to somewhere nearby while we waited for the firefighters […] to figure out what was wrong. The staff/firefighters/everyone handled it quite well. The next day when I checked out, they didn't even bat an eye or say a word when I checked out really late (i'm sure i wasn't the only one, but i slept through when I ought to have asked for a late check-out.. Very nice hotel. Used to be an old office building so lobby has original elevator doors and tile floor. Hallways are stone floors. Rooms have hardwood floors and flat screen TV. My family of 6 rented two rooms during a stay in February 2013. The location couldn't be beat as it is right across from The Alamo and very close to the river walk. The hotel was easy to find with valet parking. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The restaurant offerred a very yummy breakfast. My only complaint (why I rated it a 4 for comfort) […] was there was a loud consistent noise during the second night (sounded like a very loud toilet running all night) which kept some of us awake. I mentioned it in the morning to the front desk and the staff took notes on the issue and seemed concerned. This was a very nice hotel just on the corner from the Alamo. The place was very nice and the service was awesome. We were very close to the River Walk and not a very far walk from the Convention Center. I loved the food and staff down in the cafe. Excellent hotel to stay right downtown San Antonio. Quick walk to the River Walk and Alamo. Nice restaurant/bar in hotel makes it convenient. Highly recommend to travelers or families.

Rooms were very small. Of Course each room was different however my room had a very small bathroom. You could not turn around in the bathroom or change clothes. Very clean and cozy room. The hotel is very nostolgic and historical. Location of hotel is perfect for access to main sites downtown. We came for a concert at the Majestic Theatre and walked to site right around the corner.

The location was fantastic and the decor was unique. The restaurant was not very good, and while the rooms were clean, house keeping skipped our room twice during a 5 night stay. Stayed at this hotel for a conference at the convention center. The hotel is directly across the street from the Alamo and about 3-4 blocks from the convention center. the stops for tour buses are about 2 blocks away. Riverwalk is about 2-3 blocks away. The hotel is pretty clean. Older looking building that looks like it use to be an office building. […] I stayed in a two queen bed room. Pretty clean. There were some scuff marks on the walls. One thing I did not like about the room was that the bathroom sink was outside of the bathroom. Instead of a bathtub we had a standing shower. The restaurant downstairs was ok. The food was average. The hotel overall was descent for the price. As far as location to the Alamo and riverwalk it was great. The beds were a little on the hard side and thank goodness we brought pillows because they were extra firm and oddly shaped. But I suppose things like that are personal preference. Location? From our room we had a view of the front of the Alamo and we were only a couple of blocks from the Riverwalk. What more could you ask for? Good Value? Definitely. Rooms? Clean, but small. Ambiance? A little odd since it is a remodeled office building with marble hallways. These can loudly echo anyone’s talking late at night. Parking? Only […] expensive valet. Our room with 2-queen beds was a bit small for 4-people. The location was great and the price was very good. We parked in the lot next door for $10/day, but there are no in/out priveleges. Their computers worked well and the restaurant was fine for breakfast.

Definitely include the breakfast! The Texas waffle was great! The corner rooms are a nice size and the building is historic with great character. Perfect downtown location! Super quiet too!

Cute room, great bathroom and shower, comfy bed, great location..we could walk to the Alamo and the River Walk. Free WiFi!! Would have been nice to have a small refrigerator and micro wave. Absolutely no parking, unless you plan on spending the 25 a night on valet. Customer service was lacking, front desk attendant did not mention the fee that would be applied to the credit card that can take up to 30 days to be refunded. rooms were relatively small and unless you get a spot on the south corner of the building, the view from the room is […] awful. No complimentary breakfast. The only thing this hotel has going for it is where it's located, and even that is pretty inconvenient, right on a one way street. I used the Hotel Indigo to get a little sleep between trains which changed in the middle of the night in San Antonio on the way to another destination. I requested an early wake-up call from staff, and that happened followed with a second wake-up call to make sure I made it to the train station. Staff also called me a taxi to take me to the train station […] at checkout time. When asked, they provided historical information about the hotel which I found very interesting. I got some sleep on my layover, and accomplished what I set out to do. There are two Hotel Indigos in downtown San Antonio. Luckily I mentioned to my cab driver I was going to the one near the Alamo. Apparently there is also a Hotel Indigo on the Riverwalk--both hotels downtown. Lesa meira

Booked 4 nights based on reviews and pictures. The actual room was much, much smaller than we anticipated. The queen size bed nearly filled the entire space. The bathroom was too tiny to accomodate the sink, which was located in the bedroom itself. We took one look and immediately re-booked our stay at another hotel. It was just ok. Absoloutly over rated. Very noisy rooms with thin walls. Ppl were having party in the corridor for the whole night and nobody came to give them a notice. Do not waste ur money in this place.

I was very impressed by the staff and the friendliness. We went for the Alamo bowl. The staff gave us directions to walk and it was so non hassle for a big city to walk to the Alamodome from your hotel.

Hotel was located in a great area, walking distance to lots of bars & restuarants! The hotel room itself was nice, the restroom area was cramped (2 females attempting to do hair & makeup at the same time) & our room only had a standing shower (not sure if thats the case for every room). My 3 friends and I were personally not fond of the bed & pillows, […] they were too firm and the pillow was so bulky i ended up sleeping without it. Like I said that was just a personal preference.
