"236 Hurumzi"
I was really surprised with the hotel given it was only rated two stars. It is incredibly well valued for the money you spend. Each room is unique and the service was especially good from the reception. The only fault I could find was how loud the air conditioner was in our room, as well as the fans, but that is due to their age, otherwise the room […] was quiet despite its central location. We even met with the manager of the hotel who recommended a fantastic restaurant (that wasn't in the hotel) that was cheap too. Just be prepared to work up some stairs, especially for breakfast. Fantastic place and I definitely would stay there again when I visit Zanzibar again. Lesa meira
"Great location and priceless hotel"
We hade one night in Stone Town at 236 Hurumzi hotel. Perfect location - close to everything (ok, Stone Town aren't that big but still). Friendly staff. They where kind enough to let us checkout late (1700) because we had a late flight. The only minus I can think of is that it's a lot of stairs so if you'r not in a good shape after all the good African […] food you'll defintely be it afterwards. And the breakfastbuffé wheren't ready when we came around 08. Even though they stated that it starts 07...The only food that where laid up where the fruit and we hade to wait almost 1h before it came some more. Not even the coffee where done at 08! That was a big disappointment that we had to wait so long for the breakfast and when we finally where done THEN the came with the hot breakfastpart...Not ok...But otherwise I liked it alot. There's kitchen on each floor that you can use to cook for your self and the showers are really nice (best thing ever if you have lived without one for 7days). I do recommend it but make sure that you've time to take a looong breakfast unless you would like to eat just fruits, without coffee. Lesa meira
"Charming hotel"
We had a lovely stay at 236 Hurumzi - the hotel was beautifully decorated and staff were very friendly and helpful. We had an absolutely incredible room - the Tour room, which had views of the ocean and its own private roof deck. I cannot say enough good things about our stay - it was truly a great find!
"Hurumzi"
The hotel has very interesting quirky rooms which add to the character. A particular room should be selected at the out set. We were not happy with our original room. The reception staff were not helpful but Ian the Manager was very charming and courteous and moved us to a lovely room on the next day.

You have to walk from where the taxi drops you off, but that's about the only part. Great location in the market, full breakfast, great view from the roof. A bit noisy being right off an alley way, so ask for a room away from the street for a good night's sleep. There is not really any AC, but the ceiling fan worked great under the mosquito net. This hotel is a truly authentic way to experience Stone Town. An amazing quirky building lovingly restored to showcase the style and feel of this unique place. The furnishings are great and the atmosphere is wonderful. If you are seeking all mod cons, or don't like stairs, this is not the place for you. If, on the other hand, the reason you are going […] to Zanzibar is to experience the fabulous mix of Arabic/Colonial/African Heritage and meet warm and friendly people, then this is the place to stay. A wonderful, historic boutique hotel. Great views of stone town and unique rooms. Also really good food. I would highly recommend this hotel but would not make an on-line booking without confirming directly with the hotel that they received it.
"아쉬움이 남는 숙소"
스톤타운의 오랜 역사와 함께 한 흔적이 있는 숙소. 최신 호텔 시설을 기대하면 안된다. 위치가 좋아 나름 괜찮은 곳. 특히 아침 식사를 하는 식당은 주위 전경을 볼 수 있는 옥상 테라스에 있어 인상적임
"Langt fra ordentlig stranda"
Det er veldig dårlig stranda ved siden av hotellet. Man må betale cirka 80-100$ for å dra til en fin stranda med turkis vann og hvitt sand. Det tar cirka 1-1,5 time en vei. Allikevel er den greit hvis man skal være der 1-2 dager for å se den gamle byen. Ganske original men samtidig alt var veldig gammel. Ansatte der jobber veldig sakte. Frokost ble […] aldri servert kl.7, vi måtte vente halv time til og ble forsinket før reisen. Hyggelig daglig leder fra Canada. Ga viktig informasjon og var veldig behjelpelig. Lesa meira
"Hurumzi, et Hotell for spesielt interesserte"
Hotellet er i et hus som er omlag 200 år gammelt. Det finnes ikke heis, så når rommene er plassert over fire - fem halv etasjer, blir det en klatring med kofferter. I 35 graders varme er dette en underholdende øvelse. Restaurant/frokostrom ligger helt på toppen av huset. Ikke dusj, men badekar. Ikke Internett (annet enn i resepsjonen). "Das Hotel Hurumzi 236 liegt in Stone Town."
Das liegt 5 Minuten zu Fuss vom Hafen entfernt. Es ist ein schönes altes Gebäude, jedoch muss man gut zu Fuss sein, da man nur über steile Treppen zu den Zimmern gelangt. Die Zimmer verfügen weder über Fernseher noch Minibar und das Hotel hat keinen Swimmingpool. Auch wenn Sansibar teuer ist, ist das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis nicht befriedigend.
