First of all, this is a cabana setting. If you're looking for turndown service and pillow mints, stay at one of the resorts! We stayed here for 6 days-March 7-13, 2012. We were looking for a comfortable, quiet, peaceful, low-key retreat and HPPP fit the bill perfectly! The beach is mostly private and in a small cove, but you can walk or drive a short […] distance to the wide-open beaches. The service is friendly and accomodating, they have electricity 24 hours (as you go further south this becomes trickier to find), and wireless internet. The basket of goodies delivered each morning supplied a cup of instant coffee, juice boxes, and a small snack. I'd suggest bringing a travel teapot or coffee press if you need a good cup of joe in the morning, but there are places (Mateo's) close by that serve good coffee and juices/smoothies. We also brought a cooler along as there is no refridgerator- there are two grocery stores near the main intersection in town which we made a daily trip to for ice, beer, lunches, etc. Lastly, Ignacio is a great host if perhaps a bit overzealous in his desire to promote his restaurant, provide tours, etc., but we did appreciate his advice, and he makes a great drink when you're relaxing on the beach! Hotel nice and small, room rather cabanas that hotel room but it's advantage over there, beach sandy but small, breakfast too modest, price/performance not very good, next time I'd rather choose some hotels further south because of the beaches, generally OK.

Stayed 3 nights there, unfortunately had one of the most basic room upstairs ("A"), without balcony or terrace, with one opening (no window, mosquito net only) facing the street (no busy traffic, but could be sometimes noisy), and no real view for the other window. The rooms with terrace look great. I didn't try the new restaurant there, always walk […] 50m to go to a more busy place. Breakfast (no fresh product, instant coffee, cakes from the supermarket, etc.) was included, but not really tasty. Lesa meira

Very enjoyable, room was clean, wifi was good, coffee and eats bought to your room every morning. no problems with the water pressure as some hotels seem to have down there. Room was a little small.

Nice hotel and quiet beach. Rooms are very small and have fans not AC. Staff very nice, but I could not chech out at 8am as still nobady was there. The hotel serve the worse breakfest ever. Instant coffee and quasons that have date of use of a whole month. The total cost of breakfast for two is around 30-40pessos. Food in the bar cross the street is […] not better than the breakfast. After two days of rubish foor we took a taxi to the tulum town and taxi driver recommended us a loclal seafood restaurant el camelio. Food was delicious ans half cheaper. Overall the hotel was ok. "Hotel Posada Puerto Pierda in Tulum"
The hotel says it is within walking distance from Tulum and it really isn't - but no big deal on that as we drove. The hotel is located on the beach strip the only plus to this hotel, there is no air conditioning and the room they had for us had only one window with a view of the ocean if you tilt you head so they offer us a second floor room (the only […] one) with the clear view but for an additional $$ per night; the breeze was much better on this floor however you have to keep the sliding glass doors open because it was bloody hot but screen door does not lock; you are essentially sleeping in a room where anyone can walk in off the street - needless to say we did not get much sleep between the watching the door and sweating all night. The hotel says it is a "green" lots of plastic and fake food for it to be green. Like the incense in the room; the bathroom - I felt like I need to plunge in the sea to get clean --- ugghhh. Dust was everywhere - it says they renovated the hotel in 2009 and I believe that was the one and only time they dusted the place. The concept of a "green" hotel is good but need some comforts and safety. The final straw was no parking, it is down the street in a dark parking strip with no attentent. Lesa meira
"Our room could have been nicer"
It was a cool hotel on the beach but our room was incredibly hot and there was no air conditioning. It seemed like we had the worst room (as all the rooms had little outside patios or balconies with hammocks and ours didn't). I liked the lounge area and the beach was lovely. If I stayed again I would pay more for a better room. Also we had almost no […] water pressure... I mean it was like a trickle. Also, we couldn't seem to keep the mosquitos out of the room. "nice beach but..."
no air conditioning, room had one window and was HOT! Sheets were dirty and when I asked for new ones they didn't even put them on-when I did they were dirty too. Lost our keys to the room in the morning and had to wait for attendant to wake up for over an hour. Will not be returning!! Try the cabanas next door, same price with much better quality.

This place is super nice. Really clean and friendly staff. We were there beginning of May (the low season) and so it was pretty quiet. The beach at this place is pretty, clean, but very secluded. The bigger stretch of beach is about a 5-10 minute walk from here. The cabanas were nice, clean, and comfortable. The bathroom was super small, the toliet […] is very close to the wall so your knees almost hit the wall when you sit. The shower was nice and big though. The only real draw back is the noise from the cabanas to the right. They are higher up and so we found all the noise traveled down into our place. But listening to the ocean in the morning made it all worth it. Nice place, I'd stay there again if it was on the long stretch of beach. Lesa meira
"Posada Punta Piedra in Tulum - in the Bungalow"
The hotel is in the artsy area of Tulum, all pretty new, electricity is all wind / solar generated. This hotel has hot water and 24 hour electricity. The location is beautiful. The hotel grounds are very cute, I LOVED the location. The only negatives are: breakfast breads were packaged croissants or muffins and cookies with instant coffee / tea. I was […] hoping for a more personal touch kind of feel with fresh made breads. This made me shy away from their restaurant, so we didn't try that. Also the bathrooms have a wall, but not a lot of privacy, as in some of the rooms the wall doesn't go to the ceiling. And for some reason no shower curtains? Strange, and not very private for people brushing their teeth next to you in the sink :) Overall - this was a beautiful location and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Lesa meira

Good location, on the beach, intimate, good food, people who work there are very nice. For the price, room 6 was a little expensive as it is right next to the kitchen and so tended to be noisy, especially at night up till ~10pm as they are cleaning up. Because of it's a room on the corner, there is no hammock or way to lounge like the other rooms have. […] "breakfast" is a package of cookies and hot water with a few tea bags and instant coffee. I didn't expect anything so maybe good, maybe bad depending. Overall- cute place and had a nice time but not necessarily a deal pricewise. Do not recommend room 6 as probably the worse of the lot. Très bonnes impressions. Nous avions réservé une chambre avec vue sur mer... Nous ne pouvions rêver mieux... Plus près, c'était dans l'eau ! Une terrasse privée donnant directement sur la plage avec son hamac pour bouquiner en regardant les vagues ! Un super séjour !!!

"Excelente ubicación"
La Posada Punta Piedra está muy bien ubicada. El lugar es bello, con una playita a la salida de las habitaciones. Me gustó el restaurante , y la atención de todo el personal que fueron muy amables. Mi crítica es que la habitación era demasiado pequeña, y lo que menos me gustó fue el baño integrado al dormitorio. No me había dado cuenta de ese detalle […] en las fotos. Para mí , el baño debe ser un espacio íntimo y privado. Por lo demás, me gustó mucho, especialmente por la ubicación y el paisaje. Lesa meira

Hotel, les pieds dans l'eau ... au paradis Les chambres sont sur la plage de la mer des Caraibes. Les tortues marines viennent dormir le soir sur cette plage ... Les chambres avec un toit de chaume sont très agréables, un petit restaurant en surplomb de la plage est un vrai bonheur. Le personnel est très sympathique. Nous avons discuté avec un serveur […] pendant plus d'une heure après le service. Si vous voulez passer un moment inoubliable, c'est une bonne adresse. D'autres hôtels sont à proximité, mais je pense que c'est eux qui ont la plus belle plage, et ce n'est pas l’hôtel le plus cher de l'endroit. Lesa meira

En caso de 1er piso,todos habitaciones son bien. El habitacion donde tome durante mi viaje era en 2nd piso.Hay flufo ed viento,pero no hay teraza y no hay airecondicionador,sollamente ventiladore. 2nd piso sin teraza no es bien.

Отель расположен в экологической зоне Тулум, поэтому сразу надо подготовить себя, кондиционеров, телевизора - нет! Тихий отель, замечательный пляж, закрытый от посторонних глаз, приятный персонал. Завтраки чисто символические, скорее утренний кофе. Приятно выпить кофе рано утром, любуясь на море. Недалеко до руин Тулум, мы брали велосипеды и объехали […] все окрестности. Perfect location! You practically are in front of the ocean. The cabana is small but comfortable. Hot water and internet were always available.

Lindas cabañas cerca del mar, la playa en la que esta ubicada no es larga, pero para los que gustan de lugares tranquilos, es ideal! El hotel muy bien ambientado, con un estilo delicado rustico, pero sus servicios no son rusticos, todo muy comodo y equipado.El mar maravilloso. La playa muy tranquila. Ideal para parejas. Personal muy atento. Cabañas muy acogedoras aunque yo cubriría los armarios ( no tienen puertas) Unicos fallos: el desayuno muy pobre y las hormigas en la habitación. Lo recomendaría!!

"punta piedra tulum"
Une des chambres pour 4 personnes est tres insuffisante petite fenetre pas deplace.... Peut etre hotel bien a mais pas pour une famille avec 4 personnes (2adultes 2 enfants) Pour 6 nuits reservées petite chambre, peu accueillante mais propre... Globalement déçu par rapport à ce qui existe autour.
