Stone House 1854 – Little Compton

Beautiful Inn. The building and grounds had character. The staff were friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the Henry Sisson Suite. We loved having so many windows and the views were great. Woke up to the sunrise and had great afternoon light. Nice peaceful walk to the pond and sea. We had some problems with the internet connection, but the staff […] was accomodating. We would go back again. Only disappointment was the Tap Room which served mediocre fare. You want to really like the cozy on-site restaurant but the food disappoints. Go somewhere else to eat. This hotel is great if you want to get away from the city. The outside of the hotel looked old and had a cottage feel but the inside was very modern. I stayed in the Plover room which was very clean and spacious. It even had a build in ipod dock in the wall that connected to the bose ceiling speakers. The restaurant in the hotel for dinner had great […] food, not to mention the free breakfast! There was even a fire pit at night to roast marshmallows. The service was fantastic, everyone was very helpful. There's also a small winery that's a 5 minute drive away and a beach that's less than a 10 minute walk. I would definitely recommend this hotel. I wanted to do something nice for my boyfriend for valentines day weekend. I found this place on the interest and thought it would be perfect. driving out to the property got me a little worried because its in the middle of no where and at this time of year that area of Rhode Island is rather dead, but once we drove up to the property it was beautiful. […] The two gentlemen behind the desk were so nice and helpful. They were very informative about the property and the area. they offered to help with our bags but we were able to bring them up on our own. It was a very comfortable and relaxing environment. There weren't many people there which was very nice because we went there to be alone and have a nice romantic weekend. We will definitely be going back in the summer when the weather is nicer. Everyone was extremely friendly. The hotel was clean and very inviting. My room was beautiful. If we needed anything from the staff they were more than willing to help us out.
