This place is stunning! Very modern styling but comfortable furniture in the lobby, bar and restaurant. Service is impeccable. The desk staff were very freindly and helpful. housekeeping was very efficient and timely. Breakfast was awesome! The bar was nice. Surroundings were perfect! Fairly quiet area, yet within walking distance to the Zoo, shopping, […] and train station. Taxis were readily available as well. The only complaint would be the bed. It was WAY too firm, but understand this is a regional preference. It was like sleeping directly on a box spring. If it weren't for this, I would have given the property all fives. Lesa meira

This is a recently built hotel and is in very good condition. The communal areas are very pleasant if a little 'soulless' . The rooms are stylish although some of that style can get in the way of substance - for example the sliding glass door into the bathroom provides no sounds insulation and ours made a lot of noise (not great for a middle of the […] night visit!). I cannot belive the value of this hotel. Extreamly modern and clean. Pool, steam room sauna all excellent. Good location walked to all the main attractions. Only issue is wifi is free in the loby but not in your room.

When I walked in the room it has very bad small. I asked them to do something or change the room but they send some one who spray the room. Then open the window while out side was freezing. Very bad location. It not close to anything. It's middle of no where.

This is a lovely hotel; friendly service, clean spacious rooms and excellent location in terms of access to bus/train transportation and a park. The breakfast(s) were delicious; and the quality of food and beverages was most appreciated. Would not hesitate to recommend it to our friends. Thank you!

Clean, modern hotel. V.quiet. Small spa area but pleasant for a single visit. Location is a little out the way, although on main bus route. 15min walk to U-Bahn. Not many restaurants nearby, but try the Thai restaurant Suksan around the corner. Reasonable and tasty.

hotel was lovely and clean, although the bed was rather uncomfy and accompanied with a strange knocking noise somewhere outside my room most nights, made sleep hard. Very close to the victory column, a good 15/20mins walk to brandenburg gate/unter den linden. overall a nice hotel.

Beautiful hotel just next to the Tiergarten and Bauhaus archiv. It's not very close to the UBahn or SBahn, but walkable! The rooms are very clean, modern, comfortable. I would say though that in general the room was way too hot. We were here in February and the heating system is not easy to use and it was just simply too hot all the time. Hotel service is great and breakfast as well! But we stayed a week and the floor got very dusty and dirty (it was snowy/rainy wearher). seemed like the cleaning was just tidying and new towels. And the location is in the bermuda triangle of Berlin with no tubes (u-bahn/s-trains) and no cosy hang outs nearby. Walking distance to main sights on not so […] rainy days though. Lesa meira

Had an amazing stay at the Pestana, the room was an absolute treat, felt very luxurious, with some really nice touches like the red sofa and the ipod docking station. I loved the bathroom and especially the mood lighting over the bath! The bed was like sleeping in a cloud, what a lovely experience it was going to bed every night. Plus the added touches of the pool and steam room were a real added bonus, added a real sense of relaxation to our stay. Very modern and staff were superb. Great breakfast and location of hotel is ideal for tourists. Loved the shower and bathroom, only fault would be the lack of english speaking programs on the tv.

Really nice hotel located just 10 minutes walking to the zoo area, but within the embassy area, quiet and convenient to travel all famous view spots in Berlin. Room is very clean are well decorated. The hotel is very comfortable. Its stylish. Helpful staff.great breakfast,lots of choice. Leisure faciltys great. Great location for sight seeing the city and going out in the gay district. Only one complaint. Would be better to have wifi in the bedrooms and not just reception area.

The hotel is near most of the sights in Berlin, in patricular the Brandenburg Tor, Reichstag and the Ku'dam. The hotel was spotless with friendly staff, rooms and decor exactly as shown on the website. It's a great base as opposed to an experience in its own right, but it does have a gym and a pool. We would definitely recommend it.

I spent 5 nights at Pestana Tiergarten and was very satisfied. The rooms are comfortable and practical. The area was very quiet and safe. You could not get a better location - the 200 bus was right outside, and I used that to go to Alexanderplatz and Potsdamer Platz for sightseeing. Lots of shopping within walking distance with Kurfürstendamm and KaDeWe […] very close. I didn't have time to go to the Zoo, which is almost around the corner. However, it was great to have the Tiergarten park outside my door. I missed WiFi, but the hotel tells me it's being installed January 2013, so I might come back for a business trip. This hotel is in the right spot for anyone who wants to visit Berlin. Out the hotel and right walk for 10 mins you are at the Zoo, another 5 are your in the shops. Out and left takes you towards the famous gates, you walk along the gardens a nice walk. If you dont fancy a walk bus stop's are within 50m either side of the hotel. The staff are very helpful […] and on hand 24hrs a day. The gym and pool are very good as is the sauna and steam room. Breakfast is first class either hot or cold or both!!!! Lesa meira

We went to Berlin to celebrate my b.friend's b.day. The hotel was nice,modern and clean. We tried the food as well, had dinner at the hotel and we loved the food especially the lobster and deer stew were outstanding.We were not impressed by the city but the hotel compensate us.Many thx :-)

Very modern comfortable hotel. Swimming pool is about 1.5 meters deep and comfortable temp for swimming. No spa, but sauna. Breakfast selection is fantastic. The hotel is within walking distance of a Hop-on-hop-off bus tour stop, less than 10 Euros taxi ride from train station, and less than 15 Euros taxi ride from airport.

The hotel rooms are small but adequate and nice and modern. There is nothing directly around the hotel but you can walk easily enough to shopping and restaurants and public transport. The first room we checked into had no Internet. After trouble shooting on the phone with the Internet company for over 2 hours we were told that the room had Internet […] problems with the last guests. We switched rooms and got connected but it was a horribly slow connection. If you are a business traveler and require Internet, be advised. The spa was very small but nice. The pool is not large enough to swim laps in. The showers in the spa area had loads of black mold growing, which was a turn off and a health hazard. Really nice staff....decent location. Two bus stops nearby for the 100 and 200 busses which get you to pretty much anywhere and to the nearest big bahnof stations. Staff were nice and friendly. I thought the welcome drink (albeit water) was a nice touch. The bed was comfy and price was good for the area. Overall would recommend!

While the bed in this hotel is not atypical of European beds, it leaves a lot to be desired. As seems to be standard, the bed is two twin beds pushed together (and as easily pushed apart, whether intended or not). The photo of the room showed what looked to be a single king-sized bed, but the bed in the room does not look that way. It has two separate […] beds with separate comforters. Again, this seems standard for European rooms, but it's still obnoxious. Other sources of annoyance were the constant clicking outside the room (about once every 1-2 minutes, something would click between one and eight times). I never figured out what it was, but it happened at all hours. It wasn't loud, but it was annoying. Additionally, the free in-room internet (wired only) is ridiculously slow. The one telephone call that I successfully made cost 6 Euros for a local call that was only a few minutes long. The breakfast buffet was decent, but quite pricey (14 Euros/person/day). The swimming pool is tiny and since it is unheated, it is basically unusable. There is no hottub or jacuzzi. Other than that, the stay was lovely. The hotel is nested in Tiergarten, which is absolutely beautiful. The staff is kind and helpful. The on-site bike rental is convenient (though the bike aren't great). Lesa meira

Had a lovely 4 night stay - room was very clean and we opted to have maid service (although the hotel offers you a 5 Euro incentive if you choose to forgo this). The hotel is stylised and offers a modern and contemporary environment which we liked. The bathroom was lovely, loved the rainfall shower. Staff were helpful and were happy to recommend restaurants […] and places to visit. The spa was nice (small) but had everything you would need for a short stay. The only criticism I have is that we had to pay €2.50 each to use the bathrobes to use in the spa - althought this isn't much I've stayed in other 4* hotels and this has been included. Hotel is in quiet location next to the Tiergarten and embassy area. It is a good location for people wanting to explore the city. Central Berlin is easily accessible,there are bus stops located close by (bus 200) and the ubahn/sbahn is not too far to walk. I booked the hotel at a great price and it was easily worth more. Rooms are modern, nicely decorated […] and adequately equiped. There is a swimming pool but it is very small - it can just about fit 2 people swimming.You can rent bicycles from the hotel -berlin is very flat so this is ideal way to get around. My only complaint was the pillows which were not very supportive (but I did not bother asking for replacements). I did not eat at the hotel but may have decided to eat there if I had a chance to read the menu in my room - I did fancy room service at one point as there was little choice within the minibar. We stayed 3 nights. The staff were extremely helpful, spoke good English and knew their hotel, directions to other locations and recommendations for eating etc. The room was excellent,very good bathroom and shower. The lighting was good too, very subtle rather than glaring. Very good breakfast with lots of choice, English as well as all the continental […] meats, cheese etc. It would have been good if there were tea or coffee facilities in the room, but there wasn't. We enjoyed the outside seating, both for breakfast and other times of the day. The hotel was well positioned for Tiergarten, Zoo etc. Good double glazing made sure the room was quiet even though next to the main road. Air conditiong kept us cool. We were very pleased with the hotel, it came up to all our expectations. The only small gripe was the menu in the resturant at night. It was the same every night, having said that the two meals we had there were well presented and served. The one night we ate in the bar, because there was no one else eating in the dining room, so there was no atmosphere. […] The room was fantastic had a extra large King Size bed, everything you could need, except there were no facilities to make hot drinks in the room. The staff were excellent and very helpful all spoke very good English, The hotel was slightly out of the main city area which we liked, as there was only a short walk to the Zoo Gardens area where there was a bus station and train station. A train trip to Postan is very easy and well worth the journey. Will return again with friends later in the year. Lesa meira

The hotel is on the main 200 bus route (stops in both directions just outside the hotel) and is very convenient to travel into Berlin city centre and get to the zoo. The hotel sits beside the South Korean embassy (a pretty quiet neighbour) and just down the road from lots of other embassies. The description suggested there was complimentary wifi ... […] this was only available in reception and there was no wifi in the bedrooms. There was free wired internet access (128kbps) in the bedroom and you could pay for higher speeds, but no wifi for ipads/iphones etc. The bedroom was like a scene out of a sci fi movie - bright white shiny plastic walls, white fittings, white duvet cover, and one wall covered with blue wavy wallpaper. Not good if you had a headache. However, room was very quiet and there was airconditioning. Staff were friendly, but not always as helpful as I'd have liked. When I asked where the swimming pool was, it would have been good if they'd mentioned it was mandatory to rent bathrobes from reception as there was no changing room by the pool. There's a great Greek restaurant serving Pizza (honestly) about 5 mins down the road on the other side. Lesa meira

Clean, modern room with expected amenities. 15 minute walk from u-bahn and s-bahn station, plan use a bus or taxi. Few restaurants nearby, bar and restaurant staff didn't understand or didn't want to use English. Magnificent view of the park from balcony on 6th floor. Price point was excellent.

We arrived having lost luggage at the airport. We were given a claim form from the air port to give to the concierge at the hotel so that they could check on the status of our luggage. The colleague at the desk took the form and indicated that she would let us know when the luggage arrived. We went out for dinner and when we returned, we checked in […] to see if there had been any calls from the air port. The colleague was curt with us and said that she told us we would be notified if the luggage had been found. Later that evening, I called down to ask if they would please contact the number on the form and the colleague at that time said that we would have to call but we would be charged. I asked him to call for us as that is what most 4 star hotel concierge's would do. He said he was too busy. I told him that I was a guest just as everyone else and that I did not appreciate his lack of willingness to assist us. We had no clothes! He was argumentative and said he could not find the form I turned in. I told him he would need to go look for it as that was his job and he insisted he couldn't take time to look for it. 5 minutes later he called and said he found the form but it was too late to reach anyone. The luggage finally arrived at midnight and we he called and woke us up to let us know. I did not find the colleagues at this hotel at all welcoming. The beds were very uncomfortable with flimsy pillows and no sheets. Just a flannel blanket. Lesa meira

The Pestana Hotel is a new hotel opened August 2011, located in a pleasant location next to the beautiful Tiergarten park. The busy Zoo S-bahn station is one bus stop away, the department store KaDeWe with its fabulous food hall a mere 10 mins walk, and the number 200 bus, covering most tourist sites, stops in front of the hotel. The hotel room was finished to a really high standard, our room had a view directly onto the Victory column in Tiergarten which was so peaceful. A short walk around the back takes you directly into the massive park which is good for relaxing strolls. Bus stop outside takes you to Zoologischer which is a hub for a lot of other buses or it's only a flat […] 15minute walk. I would say the breakfast is a little steep so we didn't go for it but there are plenty of choices at Potsdamer Platz. One thing we especially appreciated was that our early morning flight got us into Berlin at 11am so we were worried about waiting to check-in, the reception lady didn't even mention it and checked us in anyway which was great for freshening up for a full day of sightseeing!
