"Luxury at an affordable price"
Modern hotel with large very comfortable suites; on the shores of Lake Wakatipu; set in a village resort with lots of amenities, which unfortunately we didn't have opportunity to sample; wonderful setting fon the sunnyside of the lake - great lakeside walks; not close to Queenstown centre
"No privacy in toilet!"
Bathroom/toilet door was on a big lean and could not be closed at all, best we could manage was getting it to sit about 10cm ajar. Hot/cold things missing from bathroom taps just a hole where they should be. Couch could be more comfortable since the tv cannot be viewed from the bed. Bed was extra comfy, room very clean with friendly staff.
"lovely location"
Came down for 4 days to see the warbirds over wanaka. Born n bred kiwi's, but we have never been that far down south, will certainly be back. Thanks for a lovely stay. The scenery and sights are fantastic. Makes you so pleased to be a kiwi!!

"Kawarau hotel"
We checked in a little early and were upgraded to a very nice room. The rest of the hotel was very nice including the employees. They have two restaurants on site and a small grocer that are convenient. The hotel is a little outside of the city center and offers water taxi service to the city center. We wPpent to Te anau one of the days we stayed here […] and the location made it easier. By car the shopping area of Queenstown was 10 minutes. I think it was 5 minutes from the airport. Lesa meira
"Michigan visitor"
Very nice set up. The only thing missing was a table to write on. Everything was new and the bed was comfortable. I would stay again/recommend to others.
"Very nice hotel"
The Kawarau Hotel was very nice, the rooms were very nicely decorated and comfortable. It was great to have a kitchenette and a sitting area. It is a 10-15min drive outside of Queenstown, but there are a few restaurants on-site. It was disappointing that internet is $15 an hour, and there were no amenities such as a hot tub or pool available. There […] was a small cinema and they let us watch a movie of our choice from their dvd selection since no one else had signed up to watch what was scheduled to play, which was very nice. They also allowed us to keep our car parked in their lot while we were on a 5-day hike, since we were staying with them before and after, and that was very convenient. Kawarau is a very nice place, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. However, just don't expect many other bonuses of a large hotel/resort. Lesa meira
"Good Value"
We stayed there for 8 days and enjoyed the stay. We fortunately had our own set of wheels. I doubt we would have stayed there otherwise, but the parking was free. Internet - not free, and pricey, at least compared to what we had paid in Auckland. The bed - so,so. It was a like a King made out of two twins. Hmmm. And the bathroom fan is always on, so […] you had to keep the door closed. Overall, I liked the styling of the rooms, and the functionality with the kitchenette included. Lesa meira
"Kawarau Hotel - good and bad"
We stayed in a King Guestroom (no lake views, infact the view was of a torn up hillside so very ugly indeed, wouldn't be a bad idea to plant something on it). And it was a good size and had all the amenities needed. However where we were let down was the duvet had blood stains on it, (which was quickly replaced the next day when we asked). However […] it would seem a pretty hard thing for room service to miss the first time. Also our door didn't close without forceful pulling and although we told reception nothing was done about this, so that when our room was cleaned the door would be unlocked when we got back which was not very comforting. The final problem was we had to ask to get a door sign twice. In terms of the room it was very nice however the step down into the bathroom had my wife tripping all the time and the fan in there is unable to be turned off and quite loud when you are sleeping. To its credit Kawarau Hotel's staff are very friendly and quick to offer a hand with carrying bags or anything else. The only problem we had was we tried to book tickets on the ferry boat across to queenstown we had to go to 3 different help desks before they could issue the tickets! "The best place in Queenstown"
This was a must stay hotel. Beautifully appointed and a kitchenette to die for (it even had an oven). Although you really need a car to stay here as it is a 20min drive out of the main centre there were free shuttles run by the Hilton and a water taxi. It was clean, quiet and very modern. The staff were more than happy to help you.

A very comfortable hotel with very good eating options.The amenities provided in room are very good. A very good base to explore the queenstown area.
"Wonderful room, beautiful location"
I'll start with the negative points about this hotel: 1) It is far from Queenstown (and everything else) - there is a free shuttle in the morning, but return will be by Bus ($6)/Water Taxi ($10) - it's best to stay here if you have a car 2) The Tour booking facility can often be bettered by searching on the Internet - don't leave tours to Doubtful […] Sound until the last minute 3) Wifi is very expensive ($20 a day) - though you can use the Hilton business centre for free The good: 1) A brilliant room with large bedroom area 2) Good Kitchen area (Microwave, hobs, small oven, toaster, fridge, all of the utensils and plates you could need) 3) Very nice entertainment system with powerful speakers - bring your ipod 4) Nice lake-side location - with beautiful sunsets 5) Very modern, clean, and friendly 6) Plenty of underground parking 7) Very comfortable beds For the price, this place is stunning! "Kawarau Hotel, Queenstown"
This near new hotel had pleasant studio rooms with kitchenette. The bedroom area was a little cavelike being at the back of the studio in a separate room with no windows, just a wide sliding door. We stayed in the king guestroom for 6 nights. Very clean, quiet and pleasant. The kitchen is well equipped. It has microwave, electric stove, oven. No dishwasher though. We hired a car, so travelling from there is not a problem. Plenty of carpark. Overall: very good hotel.
"Great Hotel"
We recently stayed for a night at the Kawarau Hotel. The room was great and a lot bigger than I was expecting after reading other reviews. I'm not sure what people were expecting.....Its a hotel room not an apartment. I would have liked to stay higher than the 2nd floor next time to get a better view of Frankton Arm. Hotel was really close to the airport, […] but very quiet. Nice to be out of the backpacker hustle and bustle of Queenstown. Its a easy 10 minute drive or convenient water taxi away from Queenstown and all of the activities. Its also closer to the Remarkables and the winery areas. Thanks Lesa meira
Stay here!!
Initially I was concerned with the hotel location as it is not right in middle of Queenstown. However in the end I found the stay to be very pleasant and was very happy to have made the decision to stay there. The room was set up with a kitchenette, a small lounge, a small bedroom and a bathroom. The sizes of the areas were small however adequate and […] comfortable for two people. The room was furnished nicely and complete with some luxuries like an ipod stereo, Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries. I found it was nice to be away from the touristy Queenstown town centre some of the time. The village is right next to the lake with beautiful scenery and short lake-side pathways you can stroll on. There were also plenty of eateries to choose from at the village. The water taxi ride was a fun experience too. However I think having a car to get around did help to improve the experience. We stayed at the hotel for three nights and would definitely go back in the future if the prices are good. I would have loved the experience even more if they offered free 30mins wifi internet as Novotel did. Lesa meira
"Kawarau hotel"
Very attractively built hotel with near access to Lake Wakatipu. We didn't use the boat taxi to 'downtown' Queenstown but think it would an excellent option. Pleasant, helpful staff. Good kitchen amenities in a well designed space. Inside parking access will be a bonus in Winter. We had a nice stay in a new facility.

Fantastc Hotel. Managed to get a great deal for 3 nights and decided to stay a 4th night but at the usual rate which we thought was still worth it. Was a 5 min drive out of Queenstown but as we had a car this was not an issue for us. I believe the hotel can arrange transport to Queenstown. We would definitely return.

"Kawarau Hotel was amazing!"
We loved our stay at the Kawarau Hotel. The staff took great care of us and were very helpful. The room was very clean and very comfortable. The only slight drawback is how far the hotel is from downtown, but there is a shuttle service included that helps relieve that problem. Just make sure you are several minutes early for the shuttle. We were 2 minutes […] early one day and somehow still missed it. We got the bed and breakfast package and found the breakfast to be excellent. We highly recommend this hotel. We would love to come back and stay again if we could. Lesa meira

"조용히 쉴수있는곳"
힐튼 바로 옆에 같이 있는곳이라 서비스도 좋고 조식도 그동안 호텔에서 먹어본 조식중 오물렛이 제일 크고 맛나는곳이였습니다. 조용하고 호숫가 바로 옆에 있어서 산책하기도 좋고 한적한곳입니다. 단점은 퀸스타운 씨티에서 차로 15분 정도 거리 입니다. 이것빼고는 다 너무 좋았습니다.
