Myself and my partner stayed overnight here and it was lovely. Very charming building in a perfect location just behind the bustle of the city center. Rooms had ample space, clean and had a homely feel which we liked. Breakfast was ample and then some. The room was clean and comfortable. The only amenity I missed was an iron and ironing board. The breakfast was excellent and the staff was friendly and most helpful.

Staying in this beautiful B+B was a special treat and unlike all other hotels we've ever stayed in. It was like living in a museum! Gorgeous building, especially the library.

The room was lovely. We had a big bedroom with high ceilings. The towels were soft and large. The bed was nice. The shower pressure wasn't great, but not bad. We will definitely be staying there again.

Our stay was for three nights with our relatives from Australia and we were looking for place that was local to the centre of both the old and new towns combined with good value for money. Well this place ticked all the boxes and when we arrived it ticked a lot more. To stay in a Georgian terraced house so near to the to everything for a very reasonable […] cost per person per night, including breakfast is unheard of, and as all the reviews mentioned the breakfast is fantastic with a good range of choice in continental, English and Scottish menus. The rooms were very clean and spacious, and the en suite facilities were great with lashings of hot water when needed. I would certainly recommend B+B to all my friends and family and would stay there again. The only negatives that I would mention was that the lift was not working the first night we were there but this was promptly fixed the next day as the engineers were waiting for a part, ( the lift is a must if you are on the top floor, but the views of Edinburgh made up for the climb), and the décor is a little mixed but I would think there is not a lot the owners can do as I would think that this building would be listed and restrict any major changes, but this added to its overall charm. Overall the B+B added value to our stay in Edinburgh as a warm haven when the April weather was not at its best. Lesa meira

Loved this hotel. It's location is great because its in a quiet neighborhood and allows for some amazing views. Ask for room 16 when booking. I was blown away by the views out the window when I walked in. Breakfast was great. It had a nice library with coffees, tea and espresso to enjoy. Great bars and resturants not far from the hotel.

There is no parking nearby. Ditch your car and get a cab, otherwise your biggest hassle on your vacation will be parking. Hotel service was excellent and the food was great. Our room was cozy but comfortable.

Loved the room, the bed, the linens. Had an awesome view of the castle. My only issue was that I wasn't told that the front desk closed overnight. Otherwise, great place.

Stay was great, fab location to get around, breakfast was more than adequate. The room was a little on the small size but it was the smallest choice that I had gone for, think the bathroom was the same size as the room. Great hotel, nice room. Lift broken during my stay, so a bit of a trek to the 4th Floor, but the view was worth the climb!! H&C taps in shower mixed up, and then hot (warm) water took ages to arrive at the shower. Staff very apologetic over lift and water issues, and very helpful. Would definitely return to the B&B Edinburgh to stay again.

Close to everything in new town. Cheap and easy The staff was fantastic. The ONLY downside was the lift was broken so I had to bring my bags up a lot of stairs but aside from that great.

Fantastic building in a great location. Provided all the extra bits and pieces to make it a comfortable stay. A few things lowered the overall experience from a 5 out of 5. The shower was poor at best, very noisy with car traffic and voices and creeks from other people moving about. Parking was a nightmare. Hardly any available and very expensive.

Pleasant stay at this B&B with good filling breakfast and good service. We arrived at 2130 with our 10 month old boy, reception was welcoming and a travel cot was already set up as previously requested, so we were able to settle quickly which was good. Room was clean and warm during our stay over the cold month of March 2013. We enjoyed our stay even though the weather was bad we did go out but also relaxed in the lovely library with lattes on tap next door, a great place to spend time. Generally Edinburgh at the moment is slowed down by the tram building which has closed roads so you may need to allow more time to get places

Only stayed for one night and couldn't fault. Bed was very comfy and the breakfast was lovely. If I'm ever back in Edinburgh I'll be staying here.

Stay was great apart from a mix up with the room's (put into a twin, but had booked a double so had to be moved upstairs) and very poor water pressure on the top floor. Shower also stopped a good few times during both mine and my partner's showers. There were also issues with the hotel lift, which was also incredibly small. The hotel is in a beautiful part of Edinburgh, it is close to Princes Street and all the shops, bars and Cafes. It is within easy reach of the Castle. The hotel itself serves a Delicious breakfast ever day, there is lots of choice. The library is lovely with free tea/coffee, soft drinks and biscuits all day. While my room was on the 4th floor there is a lift. Being at the front I had a wonderful view of the castle. The breakfast buffet was very comprehensive and there was also a menu of food cooked to order. The staff were all polite and helpful and I would certainly stay there again.

Staff were very polite but waitress service was bad. Several guests had to approach waiting staff to take their orders. Shower in room only trickled, certainly not enough to wash properly and definitely not for washing hair. Attractive building and room had lovely view.

This was a breath of fresh air from the standard chain hotel experience, the place has character, as do the staff. Very good location and breakfast, it was an fine example of all the wonderful things about Edinburgh.

What a great building! The rooms are big, clean and nicely decorated. The staff is,very attentive and helpful. Breakfast is,made to order and you have plenty of choice. They even lent us a laptop to print our plane tickets! I'll definitely come back. The only negative point is that the bed was two singles pushed together, but again it's just a . little […] detail. This place was cute and pleasant--the lift didn't work, and our shower clogged, but hopefully that has been fixed. The staff were nice, the rooms were clean. The breakfast was excellent.

The hotel location is only a 10min walk from the centre of town with plenty of bars and restaurants en-route. The hotel itself was clean and provided everything you could need at a very affordable price. The cooked or continental breakfasts in the morning were excellent with staff on hand to serve you quickly and effieciently. Although the hotel had great characteristics such as marble staircase and great views from the room; the upkeep and maintenance of the hotel was well below the standard expected. Firstly the lift was out of order - we were informed the engineer would be fixing it the following day although two days later it was still out of order which meant a 75 step […] hike up to the room each time. Not ideal to carry luggage (unassisted). Secondly there was no window in the en-suite and since the extractor fan in there didn't work either meant the bedroom filled with steam upon each shower. Thirdly there was a dirty bowl of water in the corner of the library holding leaking water. Also the staff member upon arrival did not advise us of the main car park and directed us the metered on-street parking which cost in excess of £20 a day. We were advised the following day by the foreign staff members (who were far more helpful) about the city's facilities. Breakfast however was exceptional. Lesa meira

The B+B Edinburgh is a superb example of a "boutique type" hotel. Small enough to be personal but with a grand feeling. The original features of a bygone family home are stunning, but coupled with a modern pallette of colour and furnishings makes it an outstanding destination for an extremely enjoyable city break

Et dejligt B & B. God beliggenhed og venligt personale. Det er pæne værelser, nogle med en super udsigt. Der er også en hyggelig bar på stedet. Gratis the og kaffe kan nydes hele dagen. "Hotellet" ligger omk. 15 minutters gang fra Edinburgh Castle. Jo, det er et dejligt sted...

the hotel is good, i particularly like the library. but our room is a bit dusty, guess it has not been used for quite some time. Clean before customer check in is preferred.

Rent och snyggt, bra frukost och trevlig personal. Ett fint bibliotek att sitta och läsa i eller ta en kaffe/te/whiskey. 10 minuter till centrum och många restauranger nära.
