A great place for a relaxing break.

Comfortable room in an old inn, with a 4-poster & settee. Good strong, hot shower. Very quiet, so a good night’s sleep. Very friendly host& staff - the inn providing excellent food & refreshment. Perfectly placed close to the station, car parks, attractions & main shopping areas. All within one of the nicest towns in England.

Great place to stay!

A lovely pub with great accommodation, rooms was clean and modern with a great shower. We ate in the restaurant and the food was great and reasonably priced. A great selection of real ales etc. Staff were all polite, friendly and helpful. If you’re staying you get 10% off your bill! Highly recommend this lovely pub.

Pleasant stay

Comfortable bed,we stayed in the king size room. Plenty of tea, coffee etc. Clean. Its an old building so yes its slopes, creeks but stay in a premium inn if you dont like that sort of thing. I did book a table and request for the dinning room, but was told there was nothing in the book to say that. When we looked at the menu, there was nothing we wanted. The couple by us had food and it looked ok. Staff pleasant but could do with recognising who is staying with them. All in all very pleasant, good location.

In the heart of the historic city and close to the river and park. You will hear music from the bar below in the evening, but this is to be expected and there were no rowdy people. Easy to check in at the bar.

4/10 Fair

As expected reasonable value.

Not great, no breakfast available. No where to leave your key when you left at 09.05 am. Food prices in the bar were quite high and no snack meals available. Rooms noisy as expected as it’s a pub /restaurant and rooms are above the bar. Rooms are comfortable, clean and comfy
Alan, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

A wonderful experience in a lovely old building. Beautiful room with en-suite and very comfortable bed. Menu and bar are excellent. That said, this establishment would not suit everyone as our room was next to the very noisy beer garden. We certainly didn’t find this an issue. Perfectly situated for the city centre if you are looking for an evening out and it’s peaceful later for a great nights sleep. If we ever return to Shrewsbury this place is our definite go to.

Great Friendly place to Stay

We stayed for x1 night and also ate in the restaurant side. The manager couldn't of been more helpful, the staff very friendly, food was lovely, the rum was even better. Weather could of been warmer but that's February for you. Would definitely stay again if visiting Shrewsbury. Would of been great if we could of had a breakfast option in the morning too but there are loads of places to eat breakfast in the town.
