10/10 Stórkostlegt

Excellent. We really enjoyed our two-week stay at Maqueda 259 in Room 105 (the largest and best) with balcony overlooking the bustling Via Maqueda. There's a small refrigerator in the room and so we stocked up at a nearby supermarket to have breakfast on the balcony each morning. There is a common area shared by the 5 rooms with coffee, tea, croissants. Helpful and welcoming host, Domenico, and very nice lady serviced the room each day. The whole B&B is freshly decorated and spotlessly clean. There's lots to see and do within short walking distances -- Teatro Massimo (Opera House), Palazzo Reale, Cattedrale, and the markets, to name a few. We walked everywhere we needed to visit in the city. Among our highlights were the Palazzo Conte Frederice II (a family home still, and the tour is given by the Conte's son or other family member), the Palazzo Butera, and the Capuchin Catacombs. It's a 10-minute walk to Palermo Centrale for trains and buses for short hops to Monreale, Cefalu, Aspra, and Mondello. We are foodies and enjoy tracking down the best on offer nearby (via fork.com / trip advisor). Top tips, in order: CR21 Bistrot, Locanda del Gusto, and Il Salumaio di Santamarina (30 seconds walk from B&B up a side street).
