When checking in the hotel we reserved a room with the Grand Canal View we were told they were going to have to downgrade because our son was with us and the room only fit two. They wanted to take away the Grand Canal View and change it to a standard room for the same price. I fought the Manager for twenty minutes before he relented us to let us keep our room. The room was not the cleanest there was blood drops on the headboard of the bed. The floor was extremely dirty but hey the view was amazing. We asked for a private water taxi the day before leaving and the clerk said she would arrange it and call up to the room to confirm. We waited for over 3 hours and no call. We decided to arrange our own transportation then we were checking out the private water taxi was sitting waiting for us that she never confirmed. The hotel breakfast and shower are the highlights, the staff was horrible. Spend $500 somewhere else per night, it’s not worth it my friends.

I stayed here for 1 night when my train was cancelled. The receptionists were so helpful and accommodating to my last minute booking. The restaurant staff were kind and fun to speak with. The lasagna was tasty😋 Located right on the Grande Canal, the view from my room window was spectacular I wanted to stay longer! My next trip to Italy definitely includes staying at the Hotel Continental Venice again. Thank you!

Great location as it is close to the train station / main taxi bus terminal, so when first arriving the luggage haul is made easy, and everything is walkable after the fact.
