Stórkostlegt
This was the second time we stayed at the Carriage House. They go above and beyond to make our stay awesome. We stayed somewhere else last time and regretted it. Wished we were at the Carriage House, so now we will plan on staying there when we go to Newport.

Unexpected gem (or maybe expected?)
A hidden gem boutique hotel on the border of Newport & Middletown. An old mansion repurposed into a small hotel. Quiet residential neighborhood location. Clean, Convenient & safe, pleasant staff- simple breakfast but more than functional.

Long weekend getaway
Thé stay and price were very good and we would definitely stay there again. They offer a free continental breakfast but we chose to eat out since we prefer a largest breakfast.

Courteous staff. Interesting grounds and restaurant on site was nice. Decor was a bit dated and the room heater was noisy and the bathroom door would not completely shut but overall not bad at all.

Historic house, motel-style exprience
Reception could not find our reservation--she was new, did not know her way around the system, and no manager was on site to help.We asked twice for the sofa bed in our room to be made for sleeping but it was never done, I suspect due to lack of staffing. It was a very cold night and the heater in our room did not seem to have a thermostat, so it was either always on (too warm and dry) or off (too cold). The linoleum floor was unpleasant to walk on barefoot but hotel provides no slippers. breakfast was unappealing and the bread ran out by the time we got there. In short, it's a historic building but the service, finish, and maintenance make it feel like a cheap motel. Location was good, close to Newport sites.
