Hotel Playa del Karma

The hotel was walking distance from the Beach and Walmart. We loved that it was easy to find parking for our rental car on the streets with no problems. Everyone was very friendly. I love that it was a healthy breakfast provided every morning.

The location is great - very close to the main strip with many restaurants and bars and one of the main dance clubs. Large stores (Walmart, etc.) are within 2 blocks. The beach is very close. The availability of the bikes is great - makes exploring easy and fun. The massage is pleasant but not a serious massage. The pool is ok for a dip to cool off but it seems more ornamental. The jungle setting around the pool keeps the area cool and pleasant. The breakfast is good although some daily variation would be interesting. The evening snacks included are rather plain - again, some daily variation would be good. The room was pleasant but the bathroom could use a refreshing. The shower drain eventually clogged, so it became a bit unpleasant to stand in the water. The air conditioner worked well but was a bit loud...The room seemed to be very secure - the safe added to that feeling of security. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made the stay enjoyable. Overall, as a base to store luggage and sleep, this hotel offers a very good opportunity to explore Playa Del Carmen. If you want to spend hours lounging/sunning by a pool, you might want to try somewhere else.

Price is reasonable and room is clean and adequate

I liked that there was a small fridge and coffee pot in the room,the wifi was fast. Overall housekeeping didn’t do a great job and there was a bad odour coming from bathroom sink which I fixed by putting a wet wipe over drain!

Regardless of our having made our reservation in advance, we arrived to the employee informing us that they had no room available for us. Instead, they said that we had to hire a taxi to travel across town to another hotel. We also learned that this hotel owner OFTEN double-books hotels.com bookings. We highly recommend that hotels.com immediately stop doing business with the hotel owner who has proven himself to be unreliable and disrespecting of contractual responsibilities.

We stayed at 8 different places during our trip to Mexico and this one was outstanding!!! They offer so many lovely additions. The property was gorgeous, jungley, with a beautiful swimming pool. There was an opportunity for a free relaxation massage each day, bikes we could borrow, food in the morning and in the evening, and the best coffee we had in Mexico! The bed was a bit hard, but we appreciated that it was a King since we are both tall and our feet often hang off the end of Mexican queen sized beds. We'd love to return for another visit!

It is situated a block from all the nightlife and three from the beach but is also close to some authentic local restaurants like the famous Fogon.

Mi experiencia en este hotel fue terrible, la habitación no tenía nada que ver con las fotos, las camas son muy duras la regadera en pésimo estado y me encontré cucarachas en la regadera, no servía el agua caliente. Y los servicios anunciados no son los que están dispónibles. No hay transportacion del hotel al aeropuerto y tampoco están activos los masajes. Mi experiencia fue terrible. No vayas!! Hasta que mejoren sus instalaciones.

La publicación dice que cuentan con estacionamiento lo cual es mentira ya que te cobran 150 la noche además de que dice que tienen toallas para la playa lo cual tampoco es cierto sugiero que mejor modifiquen su publicación ya que uno va por esas razones y no cuentan con ellas lo cual se me hace un fraude
