never stayed at a microtel in my life, not sure if this place was just super small and cramped rooms or this is what is normal for the chain. i had to wait a minute or two for anyone at the front desk to even acknowledge me. when i asked about a hold, she couldn't even answer me like i was asking her some weird question. which is puzzling unless there are different hold prices for different people? i asked for one key, she gave me two.
i don't know what's wrong with her like she's just being difficult when there was no need to. the room was cramped, but clean. bed was not super comfortable but not the worst. lights were flourescent and surprisingly irritating to use like prison lights. i did like that the water was hot and it was close to the freeway (despite the freeway related noises) and breakfast had more stuff than i expected, more than most budget chains. didn't say it was very good, but my expectations were super low. not really the hotel's fault or anything as they have no control over the guests. i had a nutjob hip hop neighbor who burped throughout the night and apparently the walls were paper thin or he just kept playing music on his phone ring tone really loud even up to 1:30 AM. i'm going to say i'm definitely never staying here again, there's just a lot of hotels in the Macon area even at this price range.
