Splurged for a nice hotel for a few days in La fortuna. This place was wonderful. Great location a few minutes out of town but still restaurants and things to do nearby. This is a beautiful property with lots of wildlife and a peaceful river you can walk down to. You can see the volcano clearly from the pool and front area. Feel more like a resort than a hotel. The staff was very attentive and they all remembered my name. Great breakfast as well, I would stay here again and will recommend it to friends.

The hotel was very nice and relaxing. What really set it apart was the hospitality. The staff is so accommodating and welcoming. Genesis and Kevin in particular really went above and beyond. Kevin recommended some great areas to check out locally and Genesis did as well. Make sure to ask Genesis to make you her signature drink. It is the yummiest Jamaica drink I’ve ever had!

Its a brand new hotel, everything was very clean. The property was serene and all staff were incredibly kind, professional and personable. Relatively big property with limited rooms, which keeps things fairly quiet. They have private access to the river for a soak but they also have their own pools too. The kitchen staff was very flexible, going off menu to provide meals to your liking. Highly recommended hotel

This hotel is very peaceful. The staff were all very friendly and attentive to our needs. We had breakfast included in our stay and it was delicious especially the coffee. We felt secured in knowing there was a coded gate to be able to enter the hotel. There weren’t may people staying at the hotel so we had the whole pool with the stunning Mountain View to ourselves. A short walk (or fast drive) to La fortuna waterfall which should be visited. If you’re looking for a slow pace, chill place I highly recommend.

I don’t have the words to say how truly exceptional this place was. Service was unbelievable, Kevin, Yeraldin, Genesis, and Fabiola truly made us feel welcome and really elevated our experienceWe stayed here for our last day and night. It was so great that we canceled our plans and stayed there the entire day. The swim up bar is a hot tub. We had a massage, next to the river, easily the best massage I’ve ever had. The swim up bar is a hot tub. Food was incredible. Extremely private we were 1 of 2 couples on the property.

The staff was amazing, personal touch, special mention to yohan, Kevin, yeraldin at the front desk, who were very punctual arranged our transport and tours The staff in the kitchen went out out of their way in their hospitality, the chief chef, David made dishes for us outside the menu. The menu is limited. Fabiola was an excellent server and also took pictures all around the resort. The spa is not fancy but the messeurs were skilled. They could do better with that section. Met the owner during our visit who was very receptive to our input. This resort is very quiet , serene . Close to the waterfall and 20 minutes from the other main attractions.

We had an incredible stay at the Hotel Sanctuarium. The property and gardens were lovely. The hotel is new and everything was immaculate. The room was spacious and had a fridge. The restaurant was very good and had a gorgeous view over the valley to the mountain. It was extremely quiet and peaceful. My husband is an avid bird watcher and they put out seed and fruit for the birds and animals. They were fun to watch. The pool area is very nice. We enjoyed margaritas in the warm pool each evening after our adventures around the area. Often, we were the only people there. The staff bent over backwards to make sure were were happy. We did not have a car but there is lots of parking. It is close to La Fortuna and we could easily UBER anywhere we wanted to go. I would highly recommend Sanctuarium if you are planning a trip to Arenal.

Hotel Sanctuarium deserves high praises. The property is absolutely stunning from the moment you pull in to the front gate to the welcoming staff waiting for you at the door. Such a warm welcoming with a welcoming drink and a tour of the property. Even have access to the river. The room is spacious and clean with a walk in waterfall shower head. The outdoor pool and hot tub with bar is a must with a beautiful view of the volcano. The staff is absolutely amazing. Dayana and her brother Kevin were great! Literally everyone was great and welcoming. Need airport transportation? Let them know and they can help you set it up. Need help with booking excursions? They got you! They made the whole process smooth. If you’re looking to come to La Fortuna, I highly suggest you stay here.

This has been the best hotel my partner and I have ever stayed at. We truly can’t wait to go back. Everyone was so welcoming, and they slowly became our friends. We have never stayed at a hotel where we actually got to meet the staff on a personal level like we did here. Shout out to Kevin A., Genesis, Fabi, Yeraldin and everyone else whose names I sadly don’t remember right now. You guys made this the most memorable trip ever!The hotel was very private, which we really enjoyed. I loved waking up and having breakfast with a jungle view and, at times, having the whole pool and swim-up bar to ourselves.Chef Deuel is the absolute BEST. You can tell he is passionate about cooking, and he would satisfy our cravings even when they weren’t on the menu! I will definitely have to go back to enjoy your pupusas and crème brûlée again.We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Felix. He is such a great person and was very attentive to guests. He even hosted a BBQ where we got to mingle with other guests. Overall, compared to all the other hotels, this one is the best in La Fortuna, and we’ll be coming back with friends and family! You will also see plenty of different animals we even got to see a sloth.

Tuve una estancia increíble en el Hotel Sanctuarium, y sin duda alguna, lo que hizo toda la diferencia fue el nivel de servicio. Quiero reconocer especialmente a Génesis, Fabiola y Dayana, quienes siempre estuvieron atentas a cada detalle, pero sobre todo a Kevin, mi concierge, que hizo que toda la experiencia fuera simplemente impecable. De verdad, pocas veces he visto un servicio tan cuidado, tan genuino y tan consistente en cada interacción. La atención es excelente, espectacular de principio a fin. Se nota cuando un equipo está bien coordinado y realmente enfocado en hacerte sentir bien. Además, el café es delicioso —y un gran plus que estuvo disponible durante toda la estancia. Es de esos pequeños detalles que elevan muchísimo la experiencia. Los cuartos están muy bien, cómodos y bien cuidados, y la propiedad en general es realmente bonita, se siente tranquila y bien pensada. La comida también fue un highlight: todo estuvo delicioso. El pork de la cena es una verdadera delicia, imperdible, y los desayunos son muy ricos, perfectos para empezar el día. Pero si tuviera que resumir lo mejor de todo, definitivamente sería el servicio. Es lo que realmente hace que quieras regresar. Una experiencia altamente recomendable.

We were a little nervous about booking a hotel that had only been open for about a month, but we’re so glad we took the chance—our stay was truly phenomenal. After seeing several other properties around La Fortuna during tour pickups, nothing came close to the serenity, luxury, and overall atmosphere of this place. From the stunning grounds to the beautiful art throughout, it just feels special. The gated entrance is a lovely touch and really adds to the sense of privacy and luxury. The hospitality truly stands out: thoughtful, attentive, and genuinely personal. The grounds are immaculate, with natural beauty everywhere you look. The food is excellent, and every detail feels intentional. We loved meeting Kevin, Johan, Yeraldin, Andrés, Allison, Fabiola, and the rest of the team who made us feel more like family than guests. The Sanctuarium far exceeded our expectations and was the perfect way to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Hotel Sanctuarium is truly a sanctuary. The property is grand and meticulously cared for. Surrounded by tropical jungles, views of the mountains and the valley below, it was by far the best place to stay for our trip to La Fortuna. And it is only a 7 minute drive to the heart of downtown. There is a restaurant on site with exquisite food. Perfect after a long day of activities so we didn’t have to venture back into town every night to find somewhere to eat. They cater to any specific dietary needs. The rooms are big and immaculate. They each have their own wall of windows that open to a large patio where you can sit and view the jungle covered mountains or the vast valley below. From the time we booked (even before we arrived) the staff was so attentive and helpful in getting our excursions arranged, along with transportation. Genesis, Johan, Kevin, Kevin A, Fabiola, Yeraldin, and Dayana pampered us at every turn, delivering drinks and food to us wherever we happened to be on the property. They answered a multitude of questions and showed us around the sanctuary. The staff were all fluent in English so it was easy to communicate but they also welcomed my efforts to speak Spanish. I highly recommend this hotel. It was a truly wonderful experience. Thank you Hotel Sanctuarium for making our stay perfect!

My wife and I just wrapped up four very special days at the Hotel Sanctuarium, and I cannot recommend it enough. Since the hotel is so new and doesn't have many reviews yet, we weren't entirely sure what to expect, but I am so glad we took the chance! ​From the moment we arrived until the second we left, the experience was nothing short of amazing. The staff is truly exceptional; they are so warm and welcoming that we felt both appreciated and completely spoiled throughout our entire stay. ​Highlights of Our Stay: ​The Dining: The meals were incredible. We enjoyed breakfast every single morning and had dinner at the restaurant twice. Each meal was a delight! ​The Grounds: Everything is kept immaculate. There is a dedicated bird-watching area with a large variety of species to spot, which was such a treat. ​The Amenities: The pool features a heated side with a swim-up bar that was the definition of relaxing. We also loved the path leading down to a serene river; it’s the perfect, quiet spot to swim and unwind. ​Location: You couldn't ask for a better spot. It’s located just down the road from the waterfall and 10 minutes from the heart of LA Fortuna, making it a very convenient home base. ​If you are considering a stay in La Fortuna, do not hesitate to book this gem! Staying here was paradise. I have stayed at a lot of hotel but this was one of the best. The staff was so kind, attentive and friendly. It is the kind of place where everyone remembers your name and makes you feel truely welcomed. Kevin at the front desk checked in multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed The property itself was so well kept and magical, they put bird food and fruit out and you can see so many animals everywhere, we saw so many beautiful birds and wildlife, even Toucans up close. Some of the most beautiful landscaping ive ever seen. There is even a private waterfall onsite that was just behind the hotel building that was truely special (short paved trail surrounded by gardens and trees that take you down to the stream) , you can really tell how much thought and work went into constructing the place. (I am a engineer so that kind of stuff interests me, I was blown away just thinking about how much effort must have gone into the landscaping and construction of the place) The food was so delicious and breakfast was amazing, Kevin and the other servers were really great and really made our meals enjoyable. (I really liked the green juice and I had it every morning) The view from the dining area was beautiful and there is plenty of wildlife around to watch as you enjoy breakfast. There is also ample parking. Everything was top notch, the service, the food, the room, the hotel atmosphere, If you have a chance to stay here DO IT! Truely special place

Passing through the portal to undeniable beauty. It absolutely takes your breathe away. Then you step into bliss. The warmth and genuine happiness that comes from this place is incredible. The room is huge with insane views of the Mountain covered in a cloudy mist. You are instantly overwhelmed with the majesty of Mother Nature, Pachamama, that is before your eyes. We were greeted to that view for 8 glorious days. The restaurant is divine, with wraparound views of jungle and it’s many animals that are feasting below your feet. In the trees a couple of you and and some colorful dirás i have never seen. The pool area is enticing with the waterfall and sunken bar. A walk down to the River takes you on a journey that exposes you to a gorgeous strong River with a pool that you can step into. The staff are amazing, beautiful, kind and generous people that were picked by the owner, Felix. He has created paradise in the jungles of La Fortuna. Thank you to Dayana, Fabiola Allison and Kevin for my amazing meals. The máster chef created a farewell dinner for my husband and me that was delicious. Thank you to Johan for welcoming us into an incredibly outstanding stay. Your knowledge will only grow and your kindness will make even more people adore you. And then their is Kevin, the smartes II dear person ever. Through all of you Felix´s vision is real and the more people know about this place the more they will wish to experiencia a Jewel in the Jungle. Pura Vida
