Grand by name but not by nature.
The decor of the hotel is dated and our room had peeling wall paper, holes in the carpet and outdated furniture and fittings. The bedroom floor had a slant and did the bathroom floor.
The room itself was small and we paid extra for a Seaview, which could only be viewed through 2 2ft wide windows, one of which was in the bathroom and the bathroom window was covered with a net curtain that was hanging off.
The shower had no pressure and so I used the shower in the changing rooms by the pool.
We couldn't always get WIFI in the room either.
There was a dead fly and soap on the bath which wasn't cleaned.
The pool area was never cleaned with cigarette butts, litter , bits of food, left on the side of the pool.
We hadn't realised that the pool was open to public membership and on one occasion there must have been fifteen mothers with babies and young children, this made it difficult if sometimes impossible for residents to get a bed around the pool.
Quite a few of the beds were broken.
On a positive note the staff were very friendly, however it was noticeable that they were understaffed, especially in the bar area.
To say that we were underwhelmed would be an exaggeration.
